The new Estée Lauder fragrance Youth Dew Amber Nude will include notes of tea, grapefruit; black rose, carnation, jasmine, ylang-ylang; patchouli, amber, vetiver, chocolate, vanilla. “The golden color palette of the photo was not only a reference to the amber in the name, but also the ingredients. Ford noted that Youth Dew incorporates the gourmand strain of perfumery with its vanilla notes. Amber Nude instead contains chocolate, and Ford said his aim was to make Murphy look ‘like a beautiful piece of candy. I wanted to make her look so delicious that you’d want to bite into her.’ ” Youth Dew Amber Nude will be a part of the permanent collection alongside the original Youth Dew. The fragrance will be available in November of 2005. Meanwhile, feast your eyes on Carolyn Murphy who is one of Estée Lauder’s faces (wwd.com).
Fleur d’Oranger, L’Artisan Parfumeur limited edition fragrance based on their Tunisian harvest of orange blossoms, is already available at New York boutique, located at 68 Thompson St. If you are curious about the fragrance, you can read my review here.

julien: Hi dear
Do you know the notes of this new Lauder perfume, based on a myth like Youth Dew?
Youth dew is very strong…maybe the real opium!

BoisdeJasmin: Julien, oh, I was just adding them. 🙂 The notes are tea, grapefruit; black rose, carnation, jasmine, ylang-ylang; patchouli, amber, vetiver, chocolate, vanilla. Sounds like Youth Dew’s patchouli note will be ornamented by gourmand notes. I just hope that it shall not be another Angel. October 3, 2005 at 2:29am
parislondres: Dear V! I am dying to try these esp. FdO. Things have been so busy but I need to get there soon. 🙂
Hope all is well. October 3, 2005 at 6:41am
koneko: hello dear V! I can’t view the FdO review (and I’m dying to read it!) I hope you are well! Much love to you! October 3, 2005 at 12:08pm
julien: Well,it is not a bad thing, because Youth dew is so strong and powerful and spiced…with something gourmand, this could be less annoying…
I love Youth Dew,but to hard to wear…i prefer CINNABAR. October 3, 2005 at 2:28pm
julien: It is the firts spiced oriental ever…Opium,Cinnabar…they all copy, but never can be Youth Dew…In france,it is not very famous and very expansive…another good reason to wear it.
I wore it a little,but it gave me heatache…i prefer Opium,in that way,or Cinnabar,not for the scent but for not having a heatache!lol October 3, 2005 at 3:06pm
BoisdeJasmin: Dear N, I cannot wait to hear what you think! I hope that you will like it–it is such a gentle, airy fragrance. October 3, 2005 at 1:10pm
BoisdeJasmin: Dear M, I fixed it! Sorry for the technical mishap–it has been the issue all morning long. 🙂
Hope that you are doing well too! October 3, 2005 at 1:12pm
BoisdeJasmin: Oh, Cinnabar is beautiful. It is a really well-done spice fragrance.
Youth Dew can be difficult for me to wear, but I love its character and the fact that it is very memorable and quite unlike anything else. October 3, 2005 at 2:33pm
BoisdeJasmin: There are some fragrances that can definitely induce a headache in me. Anything too sharp or too potent is liable to be the cause, which is why if I wear strong fragrances, I apply in moderation. Just a dab of Youth Dew is more than enough! October 3, 2005 at 3:16pm
