Fragrance News: Lolita Lempicka “L” and Bulgari Eau Parfumee au The Rouge

Lolita Lempicka presents its first scent in nine years. The new feminine fragrance called quite succinctly “L” is comprised of “bitter orange, cinnamon, vanilla and precious woods elements.” The bottle seems to be inspired by objects one finds on the beach.

Bulgari_red Bvlgari Eau Parfumée au Thé Rouge is about to be launched in December of 2005. The unisex composition will features notes of pink pepper, bergamot, orange, fig, walnut, musk and will be based around a tea accord including Roiboos red tea from South Africa and Yunnan red tea from China. • mreenymo: What an unusual bottle! I wore Lolita Lempicka for a minute, but saved the bottle and have it on display in my bathroom.

It could smell like a pomander ball. Let’s wait and see. 🙂

  • Laura: Hmmm, ‘L’ sounds like a pomander ball. Of course, it could be delicious. One never knows. That bottle is certainly—organic. Well, then. November 9, 2005 at 10:08am Reply

  • Tania: LL sure knows how to make an eye-catching bottle. I’m looking forward to the new Bulgari. November 9, 2005 at 11:34am Reply

  • Miriam: Not so sure about the Bulgari red tea– is it really necessary to adulterate yunan with Rooibos, which isn’t technically tea (camellia sinensis) at all? It sounds like they should just add some powdered sugar, and call it “Russian Teacake,” what with all the walnuts.

Speaking of which, I am still waiting for a perfume with a Zoubrovka note! I guess this would smell like tarragon, but sweeter and a bit more sauvage. If only we could bottle Kusmi zoubrovka tea, I’d be happy. I’d mix it with a little precious wood and honey and spray it all over my man. And then breath in deeply. November 9, 2005 at 4:57pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: L, I cannot make out the bottle. It seems a bit odd to me, but perhaps it is just the photo. November 9, 2005 at 1:00pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: R, like you, I wore Lolita Lempicka for a couple of times before I relegated the bottle to be a decoration.

“L” does sound like it could smell of pomanders. November 9, 2005 at 1:02pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: T, yes, me too! I love Yunnan tea, especially when it comes in a huge cake, which you break up before brewing. November 9, 2005 at 1:03pm Reply

  • Tara: I heard a rumor that the Bulgari Red Tea will first be launched in duty free – any truth to that? I’m hoping BF can find a bottle in the Paris airport next week. November 9, 2005 at 6:14pm Reply

  • Tania: That is odd about the cake of tea! I have seen one, but I can’t imagine what kind of tea is optimally stored that way, considering I keep my tea in the dark, in airtight containers. November 9, 2005 at 4:24pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: T, it is a special fermented tea that is compressed into large cakes. Brewed tea looks almost like coffee. It is interesting, although too astrigent to be drunk on daily basis. The smell is very nice though. November 9, 2005 at 6:58pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: M, I would love Kuzmi Zoubrovka tea perfume as well. The tarragon note is absolutely delicious. I can only imagine how well it might go with some honey! In fact, I might brew some right now. November 9, 2005 at 7:00pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Tara, yes, it will be launch in December in select places and duty-free stores. Here is the bit from the moodiereport:

    Let’s wait and see!
And of course, kisses for you my dear.

  • BoisdeJasmin: J, you are right–that is the best thing to do. I am looking forward to the release. You might be the first person to tell me about it though. 🙂 November 12, 2005 at 12:36am Reply

  • julien: Ah ah!

  • Rita: The L fragrance has hit Selfridges in London. A curious, barely perceptible layer of oil/wax seems to stay on the surface of the skin after the alcohol evaporates (snail trails!) It does smell a lot like a clove orange hanging from a fir absolute tree. It was flying off the counter and Selfriges has a dedicated window display.

The sample card refers to it as: “a new ode to feminity. A wild and precious fragrance. An elixir that overwhelms the senses, caresses the skin with the salty kiss of the Everlasting flower”

I would say: ice orange popsicle with cinnamon muffin in front of a yule fire. The bottle would be better without the seaweed. But I DO like this “L”acquer. March 19, 2006 at 4:30pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: The bottle does not seem to have seaweed, but it looks absolutely strange. I personally do not care for it, but many like the unusual shape. The fragrance itself does not seem to do much with the sea… March 20, 2006 at 11:40am Reply
