Lolita Lempicka presents its first scent in nine years. The new feminine fragrance called quite succinctly “L” is comprised of “bitter orange, cinnamon, vanilla and precious woods elements.” The bottle seems to be inspired by objects one finds on the beach.
Bvlgari Eau Parfumée au Thé Rouge is about to be launched in December of 2005. The unisex composition will features notes of pink pepper, bergamot, orange, fig, walnut, musk and will be based around a tea accord including Roiboos red tea from South Africa and Yunnan red tea from China. It could smell like a pomander ball. Let’s wait and see. 🙂

Miriam: Not so sure about the Bulgari red tea– is it really necessary to adulterate yunan with Rooibos, which isn’t technically tea (camellia sinensis) at all? It sounds like they should just add some powdered sugar, and call it “Russian Teacake,” what with all the walnuts.
Speaking of which, I am still waiting for a perfume with a Zoubrovka note! I guess this would smell like tarragon, but sweeter and a bit more sauvage. If only we could bottle Kusmi zoubrovka tea, I’d be happy. I’d mix it with a little precious wood and honey and spray it all over my man. And then breath in deeply. November 9, 2005 at 4:57pm

BoisdeJasmin: T, it is a special fermented tea that is compressed into large cakes. Brewed tea looks almost like coffee. It is interesting, although too astrigent to be drunk on daily basis. The smell is very nice though. November 9, 2005 at 6:58pm

I find it so original,like a precious bottle containing a potion of love.
The composition also looks like it may be a very sweet and interesting fragance.

Rita: The L fragrance has hit Selfridges in London. A curious, barely perceptible layer of oil/wax seems to stay on the surface of the skin after the alcohol evaporates (snail trails!) It does smell a lot like a clove orange hanging from a fir absolute tree. It was flying off the counter and Selfriges has a dedicated window display.
The sample card refers to it as: “a new ode to feminity. A wild and precious fragrance. An elixir that overwhelms the senses, caresses the skin with the salty kiss of the Everlasting flower”
I would say: ice orange popsicle with cinnamon muffin in front of a yule fire. The bottle would be better without the seaweed. But I DO like this “L”acquer. March 19, 2006 at 4:30pm
