  • carol: Aomassaï sounds wonderful. I tried Donna Karan Wenge Essence last week and bought a bottle of it. Apparently I am crazy about wenge. May 11, 2006 at 1:13am Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Carol, it does sound very interesting. I like the wenge wood note in Black Cashmere very much. May 11, 2006 at 12:55pm Reply

  • Prince Barry: Ha ha! I got my 7 sample bottles of the Chapitre 2 collection in the post today. I haven’t had a chance to try any of them yet. Watch this space.

I have been a fan of Parfumerie Generale for a while now, so I am expecting these new ones to be fabulous. May 11, 2006 at 2:13pm Reply

  • Prince Barry: I wasn’t sure about copyright etc and I had just posted my reviews over on POL. Here is a link to my thread on there for them. I was going to copy the whole review onto BdJ but as I say, I wasn’t sure about the copyright.

  • BoisdeJasmin: Sounds great! I just read your reviews on POL, but I forgot my password, so I could not comment. You made Aomassaï sound particularly delicious. 🙂 May 12, 2006 at 2:04pm Reply

  • Prince Barry: The Aomassai is my particular favourite at the moment. It’s such a special scent.

I am in the process of testing the other 3 at the moment, so will probably post about those later today or tomorrow. May 12, 2006 at 3:07pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Barry, I would especially like to hear about Hyperessence Matale and whether it lasts longer than the original. Thank you for reviews! May 12, 2006 at 3:32pm Reply

  • Prince Barry: So far the Hyperessence Matale is lasting really well. The citrus notes at the top were quite pronounced, in fact at first it reminded me of Le Labo’s Bergamote and Earl Grey Tea. Once it had settled, the cedar, musk and pepper came through. At the moment, the pepper is quite pronounced but not to the extent of the pepper in Caron’s Poivre, this one is sweeter. The Bergamot note is still there hiding behind the pepper. Underneath all those, simmering away is the tea note. May 12, 2006 at 3:55pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: That sounds wonderful! Le Labo Bergamote is one of my favourites from that line, and while I like L’Eau Matale, it vanished too quickly to make an impression. Sounds like I will have to seek out Hyperessence. Thanks again for reviews! May 12, 2006 at 4:01pm Reply

  • Prince Barry: Thank you my dear!

I have posted my reviews of the other scents on the above link to POL. May 14, 2006 at 5:04am Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Barry, thank you for writing the reviews! I am off to read. The descriptions alone are tempting. May 14, 2006 at 12:31pm Reply
