Sad News from Annick Goutal and L’Artisan

My fingers are jinxed lately, for whatever I choose to write about seems to be on the way to discontinuation. First, I hear that the most daring fragrance from Annick Goutal, Eau du Fier, is slated to be removed from the line. Next, the news via Soho boutique are that L’Artisan is about to discontinue Orchidée Blanche. Therefore, those who love these fragrances should stock up on their favourites.

  • Robin: L’Artisan told me they were discontinuing OB in May of last year, so have a feeling this has not been in production for awhile (?) They also said Vetiver & Santal were no longer being made. May 2, 2006 at 7:27am Reply

  • helg: This is so disenchanting…..I really had faith that niche brands would stick to their guns and never discontinue less popular fragrances, just because. A pity.

  • BoisdeJasmin: E, It is disenchanting, especially since Eau du Fier is such a fantastic composition. Well, I guess that we just have to stock up and look forward to more interesting (and hopefully, not predictable) releases. May 2, 2006 at 12:43pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: R, I heard that too, but this time it seems to be final, unless something changes in the interim. As for Santal and Vetiver, I thought that Santal was reformulated just last year. May 2, 2006 at 12:44pm Reply

  • Tara: I found what I figured was the last remaining bottle of L’AP Santal on the shelf at the BHV in Paris this past January. Nobody else had it (Bon Marche, Printemps) so I assumed it was discontinued. Off to stock up on L’orchidee blanche right now! May 3, 2006 at 4:37pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Tara, L’Artisan boutique still sells Santal, and I got my bottle there a few months ago. However, it is very possible that it is no longer in production. They still had it and Vetiver when I called the boutique. May 3, 2006 at 4:47pm Reply
