The newest fragrance from Italian perfumer Lorenzo Villoresi is now available from first-in-fragrance. Alamut, a rich woody oriental composition includes notes of osmanthus, rose, jasmine, rosewood, narcissus, tuberose, ylang ylang, orange blossom, labdanum, amber, musk, amyris, sandalwood, patchouli, benzoin, leather and powdery notes. FiF describes it as “velvety flowers of a Thousand and One Nights, dreams of secret gardens in the moonlight of the fresh Oriental nights”. Villoresi’s signature would appeal to those who love the nature-inspired quality, which this line offers.

  • Dusan: Alamut sounds wonderful! Have you tried it, V? July 6, 2006 at 3:59am Reply

  • Sisonne: V, I heard he worked over 6 years on this composition. To me, the notes sound almost overwhelming, but who knows…;)? Considering that my favourite fragracne (Teint de Neige) is composed by LV & that I like his Musk fragrance very much, too, I should give it a try! July 6, 2006 at 7:23am Reply

  • Marina: I saw wish there were at least a couple of more things I wanted to try at FiF, but I don’t…Will you review Alamut soon? please? July 6, 2006 at 8:32am Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: C, it sounds very exotic, woody oriental with lots of white floral notes. I also like Teinte de Neige, which is a beautiful powdery floral. July 6, 2006 at 5:32pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Marina, if some of it comes my way, certainly. So far, I have only read about it. July 6, 2006 at 5:41pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: M, Donna is another lovely fragrance. I like its rose-carnation accord, which has a vintage glamour quality. July 6, 2006 at 5:42pm Reply

  • mireille: After recently falling in love with LV Donna, I can’t wait to try this one … or hear your thoughts on it! xoxo July 6, 2006 at 2:22pm Reply

  • Neeta: I bought this one right after trying it, “at first sniff” 🙂 it’s very complex and unusual to me, with a delicate interlace of woods, flowers, spices, powdery notes.. it always amazes me how LV can succeed in creating perfumes that are both strong and very polished somehow.. This reminds me of a persian carpet with bold (natural!) colours and yet a delicate, intricate pattern. Now, I don’t think it’s exactly “easy” to wear for me, but I’ve been fascinated and hope it will grow on me. Also, I think it would be interesting on a man, too. Let’s see if my husband agrees..
