No 68 is now available from the Guerlain boutique in Paris. A woody oriental composition with notes of jasmine, rose, tuberose, peach, orange tree wood, petitgrain, musk, patchouli, oakmoss, amber was originally created in 2002 by Mathilde Laurent (the nose behind Aqua Allègoria Pamplelune, Shalimar Eau Légère and Guet-Apens). No 68 is exclusive to 68, Champs Elysées store, however it can be ordered by calling 33 145 62 52 57 or writing to Francoise at [email protected] (via boutique).

  • Sisonne: V, The notes don´t sound very masculine. At the moment I like oriental compositions very much, so I´ll test that one for sure 🙂 July 6, 2006 at 7:20am Reply

  • violetnoir: V, this sounds nice, but I have the same question as Marina: What was it before? Have you tried it?

Hugs and love! July 6, 2006 at 12:26pm Reply

  • Marina: I wonder if this is a completely new scent, or something reissued or something renamed. The notes sound nice. July 6, 2006 at 8:33am Reply

  • michel: bonjour, dear V, i’m very confused because , in my mind “n°68” was the reissued in 200? in a limited edition of “guet-apens” named nown “attrape-coeur” .
i hope i’am clear: first “guet-apens”, second “n°68”, third in les parisiennes “attrape-coeur” .SO i never test “attrape-coeur”, but tomorow i’will do.
I bought “n°68” as a limited edition in a bee-botle with gold etiquette 2 or 3 years ago 140 euros for 250 ml and the sales-lady said to me this is a reissued of the limited edition “guet-apens” . . .but, anyway my n°68 is magnifique and i think the description of the composition is yours July 6, 2006 at 1:06pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: C, yes, please test it and let us know what you think. I am curious as to what this composition is like. July 6, 2006 at 1:55pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Marina, at first, I thought that No. 68 was reissued as Guet-Apens and then as Attrape-Coeur, but the Guerlain people tell me that it is the same composition as Winter Delice. The notes look completely different, and I think that I need to try before I can make up my mind. July 6, 2006 at 1:56pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: R, as I replied to Marina, that is a bit of a mystery. July 6, 2006 at 1:57pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Bonjour, Michel! If you are confused, so am I. I also thought that it is the same formula as Guet-Apens/Attrape-Coeur, but now Guerlain tells me that the new No.68 is the same formula as Winter Delice. If you are planning compare the new No. 68 and Attrape-Coeur side by side, I would love to hear your thoughts. It would have been strange if two similar formulas were reissued at the same time. • BoisdeJasmin: L, it is very confusing, but I am fairly certain that it cannot be Guet-Apens/Attrape-Coeur, because it would not make any sense to launch two identical fragrances. July 6, 2006 at 5:10pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: V, Guerlain is adamant that the new No. 68 it is Winter Delice. I would not be able to say with certainty whether or not Winter Delice contains 68 notes. The press materials on No.68 certainly do not list 68 of them either. Would someone please compare No. 68 and Winter Delice? 🙂 July 6, 2006 at 5:11pm Reply

  • carmencanada: I heard the same thing as Victoria O.: “68” was named after the address, and contains 68 notes. It is sold in a huge bottle and is branded as a cologne. I found it quite pleasant but not unbelievably distinctive. I’ve never smelled Winter Delice so I can’t compare but the name didn’t come up when the SA tried to sell me on it. • BoisdeJasmin: D, thank you for your thoughts. So far, the official word is Winter Delice, but I still want to try for myself. July 6, 2006 at 6:04pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: V, oh, thanks a lot! The notes I have for Winter Delice are closer to the notes on the bottle of No.68 in the auction. For all one knows, those 68 notes may end up smelling like Winter Delice after all. 🙂 I will try to compare them side by side at some point. July 6, 2006 at 6:08pm Reply

  • Laura: I thought the same 68/Guet-Apens/AC thing that you all did. Now I am so hopelessly confused, I don’t think I’ll ever recover. *swoons in true Victorian manner*. And to make things worse, I think I remember that ‘Winter Delice’ was decidedly icky. Could I be right? *thud* July 6, 2006 at 3:39pm Reply

  • Victoria O: What I heard is that the 68 is new, exclusive to the Paris boutique, it is named after the address and contains 68 notes. I don’t think Winter Delice has 68 notes. July 6, 2006 at 5:06pm Reply

  • Victoria O: Winter Delice:
    Top Notes:Fir Trees
    Middle Notes:Scotch Pine, Balsam
Base Notes:Somalian Incense, Sugar and Vanilla July 6, 2006 at 6:00pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Elena, your clarifications are most helpful. July 7, 2006 at 11:56am Reply

  • helg: Hi Vic!

I think if one uses the term “notes” instead of “ingredients” it would be more confusing regarding whether #68 smells like Winter Delice, taking in mind the realtive simpler formula of the Aqua Allegorias in general.
However, it would be perfectly possible for Winter Delice to actually HAVE 68 ingredients, although some of them might work synergistically to produce less “notes” in total.
If that’s the case and it coincides with their address number, why not make the most of it?
How does that sound? Just a thought.

Anyway, exciting news for Guerlain lovers. Thanks! July 7, 2006 at 10:20am Reply

  • helg: Well, Vic, I do hope my theory holds some water and proves to be true.
But of course we will find out soon enough I guess.
Have a nice day Vic July 7, 2006 at 3:30pm Reply

  • chochotte: I have all three fragrances and all I can say is that Cologne 68 has nothing to do with neither Winter Delice nor Guet-Apens. It’s an easy to wear Cologne. On me it starts as a fresh citrus cologne, then gets very woody and ends on a light sugared floral note. July 11, 2006 at 6:27pm Reply

  • chochotte: By the way, the name of the new fragrance is Cologne 68 and is not a reissue of Guerlain no.68 . July 11, 2006 at 6:29pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Chochotte, thanks so much! I knew that Cologne du No 68 was nothing like Guet-Apens, but its relationship to Winter Delice was not clear, despite what I have been told. I am looking forward to trying it. July 11, 2006 at 11:03pm Reply
