Liquid Satin by Sarah Jessica Parker : Perfume News

Sjp_liquid_satin

To follow Sarah Jessica Parker’s successful first launch Lovely, Coty Prestige and International Flavors & Fragrances have worked to create Liquid Satin, an alcohol-free, silicone-based sprayable scent. However, Liquid Satin will be “chemically different from the original.” Created by Laurent Le Guernec and Clement Gavarry of IFF, the fragrance “has top notes of mandarin, rosewood, lavender and apple martini; a heart of patchouli, paperwhites and orchid, and a drydown of cedar, white amber and musk.” Liquid Satin will be available in September. More news will be available on Sarah Jessica Parker Beauty, a website designer to promote Lovely and Liquid Satin, as well as other fragrances that are expected to be released the actress (via WWD).

  • Sonia: Good morning Victoria, well I had a chance to smell Liquid satin yesterday and to be honest,I wasn’t impressed,I was hoping for a softer smell, and also it is more of a body oil,she rubbed some on my arm and soon afterwards I looked for the washroom to wash it off… *lol*….didn’t like the basenotes.
I do have a question for you though, wonmdering if you have a review on
Obession Night? to my surprise it was very diff then the original, quite soft and note of vanilla which i love.
    Thanks again V. September 8, 2006 at 7:59am Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Sonia, I have not tried it yet, so thank you for your thoughts. I was hoping to get to Nordstrom for a brief sniff later in the week.

I have tried Obsession Night, but I have not reviewed it. It is in fact very different from the original. I believe it is just meant to be a soft vanillic take on the opulent oriental that the fragrance was originally. I should try it again later. September 8, 2006 at 2:37pm Reply

  • LA: Hello All:

Have a friend who works in the industry and was told that Lovely Liquid Satin is actually the same fragrance as Lovely the only thing that was changed was the texture hence the “liquid satin” addition. I tried it and loved it!! It wasnt too greasy or messy. Very nice to spray before bed at night.. Anyhow just wanted to share the info with everyone!!

    Thanks

  • BoisdeJasmin: LA, thanks for the news. I also just tried it recently, and I agree with you–same fragrance as Lovely, but different texture. I really liked it. September 17, 2006 at 11:42pm Reply
