  • Nick: Dear Victoria,

Have you seen the bottles for Imtimimately Beckham “hers” and “his”? Very, very similar to the big glass block design of Gucci Eau de Parfum I & Gucci Eau de Parfum II. Even the colouring of the juice – “his” is dark brown and “hers” is pink, is very similar. November 11, 2006 at 3:37am Reply

  • Madelyn E: Dear Victoria,
Hi ! Can you recommwnd any fragrances with cardamom? Aside from SL Arabie ? My friend , another perfume lover asked me — and who better than you would know ! She loves Caron Poivre, Tabac Blond, Black Cashmere etc. By the way, Nprdstrom’s Garden Coty is having a fragrance event this Sunday November 19th @ 7:30 PM. Would you be interested in attending ?
    Scented Regards,
    Madelyn E
By the way , I am comfortably esconced in a delightfuk mist of Hermes Poive-Samarkand and Vetiver- Tonka. The combo is gorgeous — November 11, 2006 at 3:46am Reply

  • Bois de Jasmin: Nick, you are right, the bottles do look similar–that heavy glass block. November 11, 2006 at 2:38pm Reply

  • Bois de Jasmin: Madelyn, your combination sounds wonderful! I might try it myself today. As for fragrances with cardamom, I would recommend trying:
    Bond no 9 Chinatown
    Aesop Marrakech
    Etro Etra
Comme des Garcons Jalsaimer (and the orginal Comme des Garcons too)
L’Artisan Safran Troublant (a subtle hint)
and a very fun solid perfume: Shanghaijava Ginger Coconut November 11, 2006 at 2:43pm Reply

  • Nick: Dear Victoria,

I read in UK Vogue that Miller Harris has collaborated with Jane Birkin to create a “Eau de Birkin”. From Hermes bags to Miller Harris perfumes: how could she do it? November 12, 2006 at 9:59pm Reply

  • Nick: Dear Victoria,

I loved your review of another M.H fragrance which featured the garden shed photo! You dared to call a (garden) spade, a spade. What is it with this line? It’s a little too amateur, in my opinion. And the British press devour the whole thing, hook, line and sinker. November 13, 2006 at 2:58am Reply

  • Bois de Jasmin: Dear Nick, yes, the new Miller Harris for Jane Birkin is called L’Air de Rien. I liked it very much at first, but it quickly became too tiresome. It seems that every celebrity succumbs to this trend, sooner or later. November 12, 2006 at 11:28pm Reply

  • Bois de Jasmin: Yes, I am not a fan of this line. I finally had to admit that nothing about the compositions appeals to me. November 13, 2006 at 2:16pm Reply
