Diptyque Eau Rose Fragrance and Rosa Mundi Candle : New Perfumes

Eaud

Diptyque has launched a new rose fragrance called Eau Rose. Alongside this permanent collection launch, there is also a limited edition rose scented candle, Rosa Mundi.

“From the springtime and the morning dew, it has retained the invigorating, slightly tangy freshness, with the sharp notes of bergamot and blackcurrant. The fruity freshness of lychee complements the sensation of petals of freshly cut Centifolia and Damascena at daybreak, laden with dew. Coveted in Grasse and the Isparta region in Turkey, Rosa Centifolia and Rosa Damascena infusions sign an essentially natural fragrance whose apparent fragility gives way to a generous heart. And when night falls, its floral wealth radiates more intense, sensual tones. The rose becomes fleshier and voluptuous, carried by the rounded, woody imprint of musks and cedar, and enhanced with a touch of honey.”

Diptyque Eau Rose is available as Eau de Toilette in 20 ml roll-on ($48) and 100 ml spray ($98). The 6.5oz candle is $68.00. Available from Diptyque boutiques and Aedes. Via press release.

  • Victoria: I like Diptyque's line very much, and even if not all fragrances are among my personal favorites, I admire them. I hope that Eau Rose will be interesting as well. Must make a trip to Aedes one of these days. January 3, 2012 at 1:34pm Reply

  • OperaFan: I’ve got a sample order coming from Aedes and am hoping this will be among them. Keeping my fingers crossed. I’ll be in the city the following weekend and am hoping to be able to take this home with me.

  • OperaFan: V – Aedes is a tiny boutique a short stroll from W 4th St subway. It’s amazing all you can find in that little space, almost like visiting a Great Aunt’s home. Their weekend hours are tough for me because they open at Noon when I need to be uptown by 1:00. The staff was very helpful on my first visit even though I didn’t buy anything. I would love to be able to take something home with me on my next trip, just have to utilize my time wisely. January 4, 2012 at 12:31pm Reply

  • Victoria: Please let me know what you think! I have not been to Aedes yet, and I am so busy these days, I am not sure when I am going to be make it there. January 4, 2012 at 11:33am Reply

  • Victoria: I love Aedes, everything about is wonderful. It is just that my office is in Midtown. I used to work closer to Christopher street before, and it was easier to visit. January 4, 2012 at 12:34pm Reply

  • OperaFan: Dear V- Just checking back to let you know that I did receive the sample and it’s a lovely, dewy, delicate pink rosebud. It’s comparable to Teo Cabanel’s Early Roses, but doesn’t have the big opening of Early Roses before settling down to a demure flower. Eau Rose is very smooth, stays close to the skin and lasted about 3 hrs. I like it very much – almost like wearing rosewater except longer lasting. January 13, 2012 at 7:56pm Reply

  • Victoria: Oh, we are on the same wavelength then! I smelled it at Saks recently, and here is what I wrote: "like a mist of rosewater + honey, vanilla, musk in the drydown." 🙂 I like it very much. Fresh, dewy roses are hard to find. Most fresh roses are too citrusy and sharp or metallic on me. January 13, 2012 at 8:49pm Reply
