Donna Karan has released a new variation on its 1994 fragrance Cashmere Mist, Cashmere Mist Pearl Essence. It’s a white floral twist on the powdery-woody original. The press release says that it was inspired by Tahitian pearls. Cashmere Mist Pearl Essence includes notes of neroli, ginger, jasmine sambac, lily of the valley, tiare, patchouli, sandalwood, and musk.
Cashmere Mist Pearl Essence includes a full line of body products, including bath pearls. 1.7oz Eau de Parfum retails for $78.00. Available at Macy’s, Lord & Taylor and other major department stores. Via press release and Macy’s.

Absolute Scentualist: This was probably my least favorite of the CM flankers thus far. There was something really sharp and synthetic in the top notes and after that left, there was just a more tenacious version of the original CM. A pity, really, because some of those bath and body products look really lovely. I still love Liquid Nude and Luxe wasn’t too bad, either. September 10, 2012 at 12:22pm

maggiecat: I liked Liquid Nude as well, and do like this new one quite a bit. I find it soft and not as synthetic as the original – very easy to wear, pleasant scent for when one wants to be inoffensive as opposed to adventuresome. September 12, 2012 at 2:29pm
