Nina: What is your favorite perfume bottle?
My fav bottle is the original Shiseido Féminité du Bois bottle. It just represents the perfect match between shape of the glass, colour of the glass and the juice inside. I just adore this “total work of art”, a Gesamtkunstwerk.
What fragrance would you buy as much for its beautiful packaging as for its scent?
I have to admit that, when I first bought Lolita Lempicka EdP, it was 50% for the bottle. But the contents convinced me easily that it was worth it!
Thank you for the draw!

Alica: No bottle could make me buying a perfume exclusively because of it instead of perfume. Should I choose, Micallef Rose Aoud/ Ambre, etc. – those round with jeweled center – are one of the nicest IMHO. Thanks!!!! November 6, 2012 at 7:32am
Joaquim: The bell jars of Serge Lutens are trully iconic and beautiful, I can look at my bottle of De Profundis for hours!
JAR’s bottles are amazing too, the teardrop shape is so elegant (but I can’t look at “my” bottle, you know, the price…).
I don’t like the “overly designed” bottles.
Thank you for the draw! November 6, 2012 at 8:00am
rosarita: Hi and thanks for the giveaway opportunity! I have a soft spot for ticky-tacky bottles, and Rochas has some great ones: Absolu, Tocade, Femme. My favorite bottle is Gres Cabaret, just love those flames. November 6, 2012 at 8:56am
Amer: YSL Nu in the circular tin comes to mind. Also SL Mandarine Mandarin and De Profundis are my two favorite bell jars. I will also agree with Joaquim. JAR company has beautiful botttles and so does Santa Maria Novella in a more classical sense. I should stop now November 6, 2012 at 9:01am
Dominic: Ia have more than one irresistible perfume bottles. First it’s Black Cashmere by Donna Karan, I smelled it ages ago while it was still available and I would be able to buy it both for the beautiful black high gloss shiny bottle as well as for the fragrance. Original Omnia by Bvlgari is also very tempting. And two things from Jean Paul Gaultier Classique and… Fragile, the last one is apparently discontinued too… Too bad. Classique and Fragile, especially in EDP version are wonderful for both reason, fragrance and packaging, so would be happy to have it again (Classique) and in case of Fragile to have it for the first time. Didn’t expect a few years ago it would be finished. November 6, 2012 at 9:06am
Sapphire: I think the bottle for Delices de Cartier is really gorgeous. Would buy Hello Kitty just for the bottle, though. Thanks for having the drawing. November 6, 2012 at 9:06am
Maureen: I will always love the Lalique L’air du Temps crystal doves bottle my late husband bought for me on our first anniversary.
If I could afford the bell jars of Serge Lutens I would probably buy one of them jus tfor the bottle.
Thanks for the draw. November 6, 2012 at 9:07am
Ninamar: I love colours and I love opaline glass so I would definitely choose Lou Lou bottle, the version with the pointed red cap and tassel; but although I don’t dislike the big 80s and used to wear Lou Lou at that time, for a great perfume in a wonderful bottle I would much prefer to reach for my gorgeus and beautifully packed Guet-Apens! Thanks for the fun! (sorry I cannot participate to the giveaway, I’m abroad for a while. Good luck to everyone!) November 6, 2012 at 9:09am
Ninamar: Oooops how could I forget Shalimar and it’s baccarat bottle… but of course it is such a star that is out of any competition! November 6, 2012 at 9:14am
ChrisinNY: 1)I would have to go with 1849 Collection Iles D’Or Molinard for women. I am a sucker for anything that is blue.
2) Honestly, it would be Molinard de Molinard for the Lalique bottle- and the memories. I loved that scnet and wore it for years (my wedding day, throughout the early years of my marriage, when I had my child, etc)- until the reformulation ruined it. So I would not buy it for what was inside anymore. November 6, 2012 at 9:17am
Yile: What is your favorite perfume bottle?
I like Balenciaga L`Essence’s bottle! love the colours and the lines, and how it aligns itself with the scent
What fragrance would you buy as much for its beautiful packaging as for its scent?
Maybe Moschino!
November 6, 2012 at 9:20am
JessicaD: My favorite perfume bottle is Ferragamo Incanto Bloom. It’s modern (black and pink over a clear oval bottle) as well as feminine and sits well on my vanity top.
The fragrance I would buy as much for its beautiful packaging as for its scent is BCBGMAXAZRIA Bon Chic — the flower top is gorgeus and reminds me of venetian glass, an the perfume is soft/feminine and lingers. November 6, 2012 at 9:27am
Elena: No bottle could convince me to buy a perfume that I knew I didn’t like, but if I found a beautiful bottle of something nice but not for me, (say, Manifesto, Classique) for the right price I would probably buy it and use it as a linen spray or air freshener and leave it out in a guest bathroom. So many wonderful Lalique bottles… Le Lys is incredible. Organza and Organza Indecence are striking. I liked the pink jewel of YSL Babydoll, and I love the bees and the golden honeycomb overlay of some of Guerlain’s, too. I know I shouldn’t leave my bottles out, but I love looking at them every day glinting like little jewels. I only own one decant (Carnal Flower, I couldn’t live without it in some form) because I so love how I come to associate the heft and shape and color of the bottles with the scent itself, and I don’t want to miss out on the whole tactile experience of my perfumes. For example Bulgari Black-it’s hard for me to imagine liking it quite as much if I didn’t touch that absurdly wonderful squat rubber bottle every time I smelled it. For the same reason, I don’t own a Kindle or other e-reader; I love holding and smelling and looking at my books on my shelves too much. November 6, 2012 at 9:31am
Radmila: hi what a great giveaway! My favourite parfum bottle is Prada prada infusion d’iris – i’ve been buying it over and over again, i love iris and jasmine notes.
The fragrance I would buy as much for its beautiful packaging as for its scent is something from Tom Ford – i am fascinated by the seemingly simple desinged bottles of dark glass.
thanks a lot. Radmila, rada76@Mail.ru November 6, 2012 at 9:34am
Emily: My first and only impulse full-bottle purchase inspired as much by the bottle as the juice was the Ramon Monegal “inkwell” — I laboriously smelled & re-smelled every scent in the line to decide which FB I would buy, because not having the object was out of the question. (I picked Umbra, in the end) November 6, 2012 at 9:47am
OperaFan: Oh what a pretty bottle! [But no need to enter me - I just love talking about perfume bottles.]
In short, I became a serious collector by way of vintage commercial bottles with the ground glass stoppers.
To choose among favorites, I need not look further than the great Guerlains, Shalimar and Apres l’Ondee would vie for the favorite position.
I did buy miniatures of Organza and Indecence for the bottle design alone. Others call them cheezy/tacky, but I found them whimsically fun.
Special mention goes to the 1987 Nina by Nina Ricci [I own the .5 and .25 oz sizes]. If the stopper had been all ground glass instead of fitted with the plastic covering, it would rival the Guerlains for first in my heart. November 6, 2012 at 9:51am
cyndee: I love the Bal a Versailles bottle. I had some perfume in the small bottle in a satin lined box and it had the painting on the front label. It just called to mind a past era. November 6, 2012 at 9:53am
cyndee: Forgot to answer the second part. The only bottle that would cause me to purchase is a 1/4 ounce Chanel 5 perfume. My husband purchased this for me for my 30th birthday and it was as special for that as for the lovely scent. Until we came home one night and our youngest daughter had gotten into my dresser and spilt my entire bottle
I could smell it the second we pulled into the garage. Luckily she was only three and very cute, to this day she loves scent and makeup and all things feminine. November 6, 2012 at 9:57am
Tony: I would say Marc Jacobs bang, the bottle looks fantastic , as much as the fragrance itself.. In fact more than the fragrance… Hahah November 6, 2012 at 9:53am
AubreyZ: There are so many really great ones, but I think that either the Ormonde Jayne parfum bottles or the Xerjoff bottles (there are a few that look like squid to me, and I love squid). I’m an email subscriber. Thanks for doing these giveaways!! November 6, 2012 at 9:53am
Lauren B: For the bottle shape alone, I’d say John Paul Gautier Classique or Lancome Tresor. They are both so different!
For the shape and the scent, I love SL’s bell jars….(still saving up for one!) November 6, 2012 at 9:53am
Christy C: I adore the Vero Profumo bottles, especially the extraits, and the Neela Vermeire ones. For packaging, Neela Vermeire, hands down! Her color choices are gorgeous! November 6, 2012 at 9:55am
sherapop: Funny that you should ask, as I recently purchased a second bottle of Britney Spears Believe solely for the bottle! I had a tester, but wanted the cap. I love the shape of the bottle, octahedron, but also the fact that it has nice heft and can be set down on different facets of the bottle. Will I ever use up the nearly 200 ml of this perfume now in my possession? Highly doubtful. (-; November 6, 2012 at 9:56am
Amy Orvin: Email subscriber as 2dogs5catscrew@att.net
I love Oh Lola, by Marc Jacobs! I think the bottle is absolutely gorgeous and the scent is awesome too! November 6, 2012 at 9:58am
Saurabh: Bottle Alone: Live Luxe by JLo
Bottle and scent: JPG Le Male November 6, 2012 at 10:01am
Panna: My favorite perfume bottle is Chanel’s No. 5 (or Coco or Coco Mlle or No. 19, as they’re the same shape) — for its simplicity. I could be persuaded to purchase Coco Noir for its gorgeous black bottle! November 6, 2012 at 10:04am
X: I like Hermes’ Eau des Merveilles – love the shape and how a corner is chipped off so that it will rest slanted on my dresser.
I won’t splurge on a full bottle of perfume just because I like the bottle – I care more about the contents in the bottle. I may be persuaded to get a mini travel bottle if it is really pretty (and if the miniature size makes it even more adorable) though.
If I have to pick something, I will perhaps go with Chanel’s Les Exclusif lines. I like how the bottles look – clean, sleek, and chic. And it will look good all lined up on anyone’s dresser and some of the scents are really gorgeous too.
Thanks for organising the draw. November 6, 2012 at 10:05am
ralu: Thank you for the contest. I would never, ever buy a perfume because of the bottle. All i care about is the fragrance. Similarly, the design of the bottle would not stop me from buying a fragrance I like. Recently I’ve been keeping my bottles out of sight to avoid damage due to light. That being said, I do appreciate a nice design. I like the former design of the Organza Indecence bottle. Celebrity fragrances have, in my opinion, the worst designs. November 6, 2012 at 10:20am
ralu: Just wanted to add to my earlier comments that I prefer simpler bottles vs. very bright or overly decorated ones. I do like the indecence old bottle but the decoration is extremely tasteful. So is the one for Youth Dew. However, SL bottles (very simple) are extremely appealing. November 6, 2012 at 1:34pm
Nancy A.: Classicism: Chanel No. 5, Guerlain’s L’Heure Bleu, the charm and whimsy of Lolita Lempicka. The clean lines of Kenzo and Issey Miyake & Prada. What the bottle design captures should hopefully reflect the contents it holds, but if a fragrance doesn’t appeal to me I would sooner walk away. November 6, 2012 at 10:21am
Apollonia: I love the Angel glass star-shaped flacon by Mugler as much as I love the scent, but a very close second is the Hypnotic Poison red apple bottle. Looking closely at it one notices the “folds” on its corners, the darker shade towards the bottom, the black top also with “folds,” and the simple gold band and writing on the bottle. All this and that fabulous fragrance inside the lovely bottle! November 6, 2012 at 10:23am
LCT: The new Florabotanica bottle is pretty special I think. Too bad about the juice
My choice for fragrance as much as packaging would have to be By Killian Back to Black (though there are many runners up!). Thank you for the draw. November 6, 2012 at 10:30am
Patt: My favorite bottle (and one of my favorite fragrances) is the vintage Farouche parfum by Nina Ricci. The Lalique crystal bottle is heart shaped with crystal “wings,” the fragrance in the center of the bottle and a large round crystal stopper. I’m lucky to have both a small and large version of this beautiful bottle design (with scent inside!).
I’ve been tempted to buy the Chanel Coco Noir bottle (largest size!) even though I don’t really care for the fragrance.
Thank you so much for the generous draw. November 6, 2012 at 10:36am
Claudia: With my first paycheck I bought one ounce of L’Air du Temps perfume. It was the double dove bottle. This was back in 1980 and I still have it. I still love it. November 6, 2012 at 10:42am
laurinha: JPG Fragile is my favourite perfume bottle… Another scent I would buy as much for the vial as for its content is Lolita Lempicka original .
Thanks for the draw! November 6, 2012 at 10:44am
Terry Maloney: I have to say that my jaw dropped when I saw the Micallef crystal bottle collection. I wanted one of those bottles! But because I love the scent so much, my winner is Guerlain Rose Nacree du Desert. I want this for the bottle as well as the scent! Maybe one day…. November 6, 2012 at 10:53am
Nancysg: I love the bottles from Kerosene. The beautiful rich painted colors and the automotive finish along with hand finished caps make for an unusual but beautiful presentation. I haven’t purchased a scent strictly for the bottle yet, but since I do love glass bottles in general, it will probably happen. November 6, 2012 at 11:05am
Roberta: My favorite perfume bottle is Chanel No 5. (Coco Noir is also gorgeous!)
For bottle + fragrance I’d say Ramon Monegal Mon Cuir. I’m obsessed with his bottles and I love leather scents.
Thanks for the draw! November 6, 2012 at 11:06am
Anne Sheffield: I love simple bottles. I love Mitsouko, N 19, Jo Malone fragrances packaging and l Artisan Parfumeur, Tom ford ( In fact I prefere square shaped bottles) I would never buy a scent for its bottle, but I have done the contrary. Some bottle are so ugly to me that I refuse to even sample them ( the latest being Womanity buy Mugler, I find the bottle too ugly). Kisses Victoria! November 6, 2012 at 11:11am
shaney: Serge Lutens bell jars are the most appealing bottles to me…their shape, their apothecary feel, beautiful! I wouldn’t buy any just for the bottle, though, as they’re too expensive and too complicated for a blind buy! A less expensive blind buy that I have purchased simply because I was attracted to the bottle was Noa Cacharel…the little orb with the pearl was just too interesting to pass up! Fortunately, I happened to love the fragrance as well! November 6, 2012 at 11:24am
Gloria: It’s a toss up between the L’air du Temps dove bottle and the sophistication of the classic Chanel bottles. I don’t think I buy a perfume for the bottle but I might ‘not’ buy one of the bottle is clumsy, or lays on its side and such…real estate for display is sort of limited in my place. November 6, 2012 at 11:36am
Vishishta: My favorite perfume bottle is designed by Oscar de la Renta. I am currently collecting all of his designs and am amazed that you can buy them so inexpensively. I leave them empty for the beauty of the glass.
Alternatively I love the small, elegant bottle that Cardamon and Khypri (DSH) arrived in. I have argued with myself about putting this, my favorite fragrence, into one of the lovely Oscar bottles, but have decided that it should stay in it’s elegant small bottle.
Thanks for the draw! November 6, 2012 at 12:00pm
Irina: I think I always loved and will love “l’Air du Temps”both for the bottle and for the ( pre-reformulation) jus
thanks a lot for the draw November 6, 2012 at 12:15pm
Leah: This one is so tough! I have to call a four-way tie between Shiseido FdB, traditional Chanel bottle with cut glass stopper, Guerlain Bee Bottles AND Mitsouko/L’heure Bleue Baccarat heart bottles. Ohhhh, forgetting vintage Nuit de Noel bottles and SL Bell Jars!
I have only ever bought one bottle just for the glass – a vintage round bottle of L’heure Bleue in the EdC concentration, only to find that even in the cologne form it is one of the most magnificent scents on earth.
Thanks for the contest! November 6, 2012 at 12:24pm
Karen Kuhn: Definitely Solange Azagury-Partidge’s Stoned perfume bottle. Beautiful red glass bottle with a Ganesh-type figure on the stopper. Exquisite. November 6, 2012 at 12:43pm
Ferris: My favorite perfume bottle is Bond No. 9′s Brooklyn. It features multi-colored graffiti that wraps around the star shaped bottle. It is both eye-catching and very unique. As to what fragrance I would buy for it’s packaging and it’s scent is another Bond No. 9 scent, Chez Bond. The scent and packaging are absolutely gorgeous. It comes in the most beautifully decorated white and silver box with the Bond No 9 emblem centered on the top. The fragrance features herbal tea, citrus, and sandalwood. It smells so wonderful and the presentation is just as great! November 6, 2012 at 12:48pm
George: Any of les exclusifs. But it’s not so much the bottle (though its great and the magnetised cap is great too): it’s the box: it’s big and it demands ceremony. November 6, 2012 at 1:00pm
sneakybetty: my favourite perfume bottle would have to be the timelessly classic and beautiful chanel no5
bottle ,so perfectly simple and elegant, stunning!
As for the second question i would buy the chanel no5 bottle even if it had nothing in it ha ha! but seriously apart from the chanel, i’d probably pick Frederic malle Iris poudre, strange chioce you may think, but the simple lines of the bottle and the black label and cap looks so moody and deeply mysterious but simplistic, its all about the scent without the bells and whistles, what a bonus that the contents are so complex and stunning, but yes i think i would almost still pay the price tag as much for the bottle. I sound insane! November 6, 2012 at 1:01pm
Jan Last: This is a lucky day for me. I have some exquisite old bottles from the 20′s, when my Grandmother was in Paris, bottles from Volnay, in hand painted swirled black boxes, a beautiful Worth bottle, one with the Baccarat bulldog. There is one I would love to send a picture of, the bottle is surrounded by paper rose petals and leaves, which fold up when you close the box. All 12 of the perfumes are still tightly closed, most with the original string or wax seals. I’ve never been brave enough to break the seals, but I assume the perfumes are decomposed.
As to the second question…I was once attacked from a store window by a striking Niki de Saint Phalle bottle with enameled intertwined snakes on the top. I bought it without smelling it as they had no sample. As a slow learner, I would very probably do it again. November 6, 2012 at 1:03pm
Diana: I bought Van Cleef & Arpels Feerie only because I liked the bottle that also Terry Mugler Womanity at first I only liked the bottle but I ended up liking the perfume … but I did that a long time ago before Bois de Jasmin (hahaha) I wouldn’t do it anymore. Now the bottles that I like are kind of simple I think what I like the most is the color of the perfume for some reason…
My favorite bottle that I actually own right now is Angel by Terry Mugler November 6, 2012 at 1:05pm
Christina D: My favorite perfume bottle has been the PRADA candy, love the design and how its so bright! Thank you for the opportunity and I’m a subscriber. November 6, 2012 at 1:15pm
Claudia D.: My favorite perfume bottle that I own would have to be Shalimar. It makes me feel rich just to look at it! And I am very susceptible beautiful perfume bottles. I would have no trouble buying a perfume for the bottle alone. I think if I had had the money back when it was available, I would have bought a bottle of Niki de Saint Phalle perfume when it first came out, just for the intertwined snakes! Thanks for the giveaway! November 6, 2012 at 1:21pm
E. Lime: I love the simplicity and heft and of the L’Artisan bottles. I must admit, I bought Bvlgari Black as much for the intriguing squat, round bottle as I did for the scent (though it’s a case of a perfume where the scent and the packaging are seamlessly integrated!). November 6, 2012 at 1:28pm
solanace: My favorite perfume bottle is the Bell Jar.
As much as I love a beautiful bottle, I’d never buy a perfume just for it. There are just too many juices out there that I crave – and a few of them come in bell jars, anyway!
Thank’s for the giveaway! November 6, 2012 at 1:34pm
Nikki: “What is your favorite perfume bottle? What fragrance would you buy as much for its beautiful packaging as for its scent?”
My favorite perfume bottle would have to be J’Adore Dior. but if I would buy a fragrance for both fragrance and beauty, I would buy Balenciaga’s L’Essence Eau de Parfum. It has the most beautiful crystal blue tinted bottle with a most pleasant scent. It is simple, but very feminine and chic. I would die for a bottle! November 6, 2012 at 1:41pm
Jan: This topic has turned into one of my favorites! I would love to see pictures of other people’s bottles. Is that possible? They won’t be as beautiful as your pictures, but we could take a stab at it! November 6, 2012 at 1:42pm
Absolute Scentualist: I adore the whole line of product packaging for the original Lolita Lempicka perfume, especially some of the Midnight bottles. They’re just gorgeous.
A perfume I’d buy just for the bottle though I happen to love the juice inside as well is Midnight Poison. I also love the LE L’Artisan Parfumeur harvest bottles. November 6, 2012 at 1:44pm
Andrea: I absolutely adore Chantecaille’s Frangipane. I have the rollerball, but would love to have the lovely crystal bottle on my dressing table! November 6, 2012 at 1:46pm
Andrea: Oops! The second part: I’d only purchase a scent for the bottle if it were l’Air Du Temps, as I grew up seeing the bottle on my mon’s dressing table and it is gorgeous. November 6, 2012 at 1:56pm
Susan Loewenkamp: I’m one of the many people upset that there is actually an attempt to ban Chanel No. 5 because of allerenic ingredients!
Surely we won’t lose our beloved No. 5.
What’s going on? November 6, 2012 at 1:55pm
Victoria: Susan, nobody is going to ban Chanel No 5! The reformulations have been taking place for quite some time now, but it seems as if the mainstream press woke up and picked up one piece of the story and ran with it. I seriously doubt that Chanel is at risk of being banned. November 6, 2012 at 3:06pm
Rita: Vol de Nuit has an elegant, distinctive bottle that complements the tones of the fragrance. It is immediately recognizable, just like the scent. November 6, 2012 at 2:09pm
Nicole: it has to be l’eau de temp! such a iconic and classic bottle! November 6, 2012 at 2:32pm
Theresa: What is your favorite perfume bottle?
I love simple, elegant, classic bottles. A prime example would be Chanel No. 5.
What fragrance would you buy as much for its beautiful packaging as for its scent? If I had the money, I would love one of the Bell Jars – they are so elegant!
thanks for the give-away – I live in hope that I may win some day! November 6, 2012 at 2:33pm
Pamela: I would buy an empty bottle – I’ve even tried to find the exact match on eBay – of Shalimar Perfume, 1962. My first love, Terry, gave it to me and when the perfume was gone, I kept the bottle for years in its purple, velvety box. Elegant, exotic, beautiful, a reminder of everlasting love. It was a gift suggested to him by his mother (!!!), and perfect; I love it still. November 6, 2012 at 2:36pm
Pamela: But I forgot to say that I don’t have either the bottle or the perfume anymore! The newer iterations are not the same as that generous Baccarat curve and fluted sides were. Sigh. November 6, 2012 at 2:37pm
Andre: I think my all-time favorite bottle would have to be the classic Chanel bottle. I think it’s technically referred to as the No 5 bottle, but it houses so many classics that it doesn’t seem fair to focus on just one. As far as modern designs go, I’m partial to the Dior Homme bottle and Serge Lutens’ bell jars. As for which scent I would buy as much for the packaging as its scent: the Lutens bell jars, of course. I also recently stumbled across Balenciaga’s Florabotanica at Nordstrom: terrible fragrance but one that I found myself tempted to buy for the bottle alone. November 6, 2012 at 2:39pm
Rachel: Purely from a design standpoint, the Zen perfumes are so pretty!! There is one that looks like a unicorn horn, bamboo, and several more that are so very nice. I want them just to put on my vanity!! November 6, 2012 at 3:11pm
Amy M.: It’s tough to pick just one! I would have to say the Serge Lutens Bell Jar, especially the gorgeous De Profundis.
The vintage Guerlain Vol De Nuit bottles.
And I really like the current M. Micallef “Black” bottle.
Thanks for the draw!
November 6, 2012 at 3:19pm
Lucas: Annick Goutal Nuit Etoilee was the first time when I fell in love with the bottle. I’ve never seen such beautiful, deep blue coloured glass. Luckily the scent is gorgeous too, so it’s a double love, one for bottle and one for the juice. November 6, 2012 at 3:22pm
Sophie C: 1: my favourite perfume bottle(s) are the Balmain square glass ones (e.g. vintage JM and MB parfum, and the modern Balmain de Balmain), with the off-side labels. So simple and elegant, yet slightly askew!
2: the most recent acquisition I love just as much for the packaging as the jus is Strenesse Gabriele Strehle. Pale, heavy cyclindrical glass with an indentation that perfectly fits your thumb – and love the pretty almond scent! November 6, 2012 at 3:31pm
Marijana: I really like Chanel perfume and edp bottles- simple and elegant … But,I would never buy a perfume just because the bottle is beautiful. My favourite bottle is Opium perfume bottle but also prerefomulation edt and edp bottles-such a great combination of scent and the bottle! Maybe my love for the scent itself influenced this choice, but I really love the whole package… November 6, 2012 at 3:54pm
Geneviève: I just recently fell in love with the bottle of Stella (Stella McCartney) of 30 ml.
It looks like a precious jewel and remind me of one of my favorite stone : amethyst ! Even if i really like the smell of that perfume, the quality of the design of a perfume bottle is really important to me. Maybe it’s because I’m in art history? I’m not sure, but I know that for this one (along with Shalimar) I could not resist.
I think it’s my favorite «modern» perfume bottle/perfume juice, by far! When it will be finished it will decorate my bedroom for sure (now it’s hidden from the light and humidity! ).
I’m a facebook follower November 6, 2012 at 4:03pm
tomate farcie: I like the simplicity of the Serge Lutens bell jars. I wouldn’t buy a scent just for the bottle. I like too many pefumes just to buy for the bottle alone. November 6, 2012 at 4:03pm
silverdust: Chalk up another vote for the Hypnotic Poison apple! November 6, 2012 at 4:19pm
minette: i love so many bottles – from the iconic chanel no. 5 bottle to the limited editions for hermes 24 faubourg and eau des merveilles to the lutensian bell jars to the lalique doves for l’air du temps to the hourglass figural for rochas femme – and so many in between! but if i had to pick just one, it would be the classic seashell bottle for shalimar. i love the way it has morphed slightly over the decades, and yet retained its overall character. oh, and i also love the big circular bottles with the cone stoppers guerlain did for several of its scents. i have a huge one for shalimar, and i love looking at it. and then there is kingdom by alexander mcqueen. love that, too! November 6, 2012 at 4:21pm
Cynthia: Favorite perfume bottle:
Shanghai Butterfly by Nanette Lepore
Scent Bottle combo:
Organza Indecence by Givenchy November 6, 2012 at 4:25pm
Frank Masso: I noticed the most beautiful perfume bottle I have ever seen just about a year ago. It was feerie by van cleef and arples. Magical midnight blue and silver. I had to own it. I look at it every day and in a strange way it brings me such joy and comfort. And it survived the storm here in NY! I would and most likely will purchase Betsy Johnson just for the bottle. It is so beyond beautiful! It reminds me of the Art Deco bottles from the20′s and 30′s that my great grandmother kept on her vanity. November 6, 2012 at 4:31pm
Caroline: What is your favorite perfume bottle?
I have two favorites:
The jewel shaped bottle of Wish by Chopard & the original big extrvagant Cartier Panthere bottle.
What fragrance would you buy as much for its beautiful packaging as for its scent?
I am a sucker for the square faceted classic Chanel perfume bottles as well as their Exclusifs bottles. November 6, 2012 at 4:43pm
Margo Benson: Althought I’m not crazy about the scent, I adore the bottle for Nina Ricci L’Air du Temps. The Lalique doves and the twirling glass make it so tactile, it fits beautifully into a curved palm. The cinched waist of the Manifesto bottle is fun! Great draw. November 6, 2012 at 4:46pm
Mihaela: Q:What is your favorite perfume bottle?
A: Alien Liqueur de Parfum Thierry Mugler

maja: Not participating but I just wanted to say I like most of Hermes bottles. They are simple, elegant and somehow seem unbreakable.

eunice: What is your favorite perfume bottle?Marc Jacobs Dot.
What fragrance would you buy as much for its beautiful packaging as for its scent?Moschino L´Eau Cheap and Chic. November 6, 2012 at 6:02pm
Nicole: Hmmm, I’m really not sure if I would ever buy a scent for the bottle alone, I mean, some of the Avon Christmas editions were in some cute bottles, the perfume? So so.
BUT, there is always the divine Chanel fragrances in their bottle with such clean and elegant lines to it, the Serge Lutens bottles remind me of this quality also, and of course their fragrances are classic also.
On a more fancy note, maybe Shalimar or Jicky. November 6, 2012 at 6:39pm
Nicole: Ooops, forgot to mention that my favourite perfume would be Prada, Infusion d’Iris. Just heavenly. November 6, 2012 at 6:40pm
Phyllis Ann Iervello: My favorite perfume bottle is my vintage blue glass bottle of Guerlain’s Guet Apens. And it still even smells wonderful. The only fragrance I bought more for the bottle than the juice is Chanel Coco Noir–the bottle is so cool. (A close second is Comme des Garcons Amazing Green but I enjoy the fragrance as well.) Thanks for the opportunity to win the draw. November 6, 2012 at 7:48pm
Cheryl G.: Classic = Classy = Chanel no. 5.
I need a solid bottle with some heft.
In my opinion, the worst for the $$$ is Serge Lutens export bottles. Too tall and narrow. Can you say crash? November 6, 2012 at 7:52pm
Sherry: My favorite perfume bottle is the one for Creed Fleurissimo. It looks very regal to me. I love the shape of it and the green top as well!! As far as packaging goes, I think that the classic chanel flacons are very beautiful. They make me want to buy their perfume. (Especially #19!!) November 6, 2012 at 8:15pm
Robin Hudson: I have always loved the bottle containing
L’air Du Temps.
I wish I could try the original perfume before
it’s reformulations. November 6, 2012 at 8:45pm
Katrin: Although I don’t like the scent, Shalimar is my favorite bottle and I bought an empty one on ebay. And I’ve been tempted, but I wouldn’t buy a fragrance on the bottle alone.
Thanks for the giveaway! November 6, 2012 at 8:45pm
Rhi: I like minimalist bottles like Kenzo Flower or Issey Miyake A Scent. November 6, 2012 at 8:59pm
Julie: I tend to prefer simple, classic bottles, like Chanel or Ormonde Jayne. That said, my favorite is Guerlain’s Vol de Nuit “propeller” bottle, because it holds my favorite fragrance. November 6, 2012 at 9:23pm
Liz K: My favorite perfume bottle is the gorgeous black Nuit de Noel. My aunt had it on her bathroom counter (pink and black!) and I thought it was so beautiful. I would happily buy another bottle of Kingdom if I could find one at a reasonable price. It was a favorite of mine and I always loved the bottle. Oh, and I did buy the Hello Kitty just for the bottle. It sits on my vanity being cute and pink and will never touch my skin–yuck. November 6, 2012 at 9:27pm
Dawn: I love the Chanel 5 bottle more than any other, simple and classic. I would buy Arpege for the bottle alone. I keep my bottle on the entryway bookshelf to spray as I go in and out.
The whole package of the great scent and gorgeous round black and gold bottle for almost a song is an amazement. November 6, 2012 at 9:40pm
Elizabeth: I still love the Givenchy Organza bottle. True likeness of a real woman. Don’t wear the product though.
Would probably buy Lolita Midnight Lolita, the black apple. Seductive and dangerous. Was meant for Snow White. November 6, 2012 at 10:05pm
Elizabeth: Still love the Organza bottle by Givenchy. Very femine, sexy, a true woman. Don’t wear the product though.
Probably would buy Lolita L Midnight Lolita. Very seductive and dangerous. This bottle was meant for Snow White. November 6, 2012 at 10:08pm
hajusuuri: I admit to buying some perfumes just for the aesthetics of the packaging and if I like the juice, even better.
The nicest bottle I have is Coach First Fragrance in the Multicolor C bottle.
The fragrance I would buy as much for its beautiful packaging as its scent is Aedes de Venustas Signature EDP. I actually own this one
Thanks for the generous draw. November 6, 2012 at 10:19pm
Peggy: I think the Vera Wang bottle is very beautiful and has a satisfying heft. I am in love with the Boadicea the Victorious bottles with the celtic knot and would purchase one of the fragrances–when I figure out which one I like best! November 6, 2012 at 10:21pm
Portia: My Favourite perfume bottle is the Versace Blonde bottle with its logo indented.
Great draw,
Portia xx November 6, 2012 at 10:28pm
Elizabeth: I still love the Organza bottle from Givenchy. Very sexy, seductive, a real woman.
I would probably buy just for the bottle Lolita L Midnight Lolita. Very dangerous, seductive, how could you refuse one bite? This bottle was meant for Snow White. November 6, 2012 at 10:29pm
Melanie D: My fav. perfume bottle is the Miss Dior perfume. I’m lucky, since I love both the bottle and the scent. It is pretty rare to find both a design and a scent that I like in one bottle! Sometimes, if the design of a perfume bottle is really hideous, I decant them… November 6, 2012 at 11:00pm
Susie: The most beautiful perfume bottle is the one from which I am able to decant a scent onto myself that evokes positive emotions. I admire the beauty of design but have not found a bottle equal to my love of the scent inside.
I do confess to being a sucker for a pretty bottle; I gravitate to smelling those which intrigue me first. I think my greatest disappointment in a bottle lies in Féerie by Van Cleef & Arpels. It looked sooo pretty and smelled so…blech! November 7, 2012 at 12:31am
Susie: I had to add one thing…
The Agonist line sells their EDP’s in limited edition “sculptures” starting at $1320 USD for 1.7oz of Black Amber, with Liquid Crystal (or is it liquid gold at this price??) being the highest price point in the line at $1800 USD for 1.7oz.
Agonist states,
“The fragrances are carefully embraced by
handcrafted Swedish glass created in
collaboration with glass artist
Åsa Jungnelius at Kosta Boda, – Swedens
most prestigious glassworks in use,
founded 1742 and situated in the forests
of Småland, Sweden.”
Unless there’s a genie in each bottle that will give me three wishes, I don’t think the bottles are all THAT alluring… November 7, 2012 at 12:47am
Brooke: Thank you for the draw! There are so many great bottles – Mauboussin, Montana Parfum de Peau, the etched Serge bell jars, and Vol de Nuit. I love the original Donna Karan bottles and my favorite scent would be Chaos. November 7, 2012 at 1:28am
TaffyJ: My favorite perfume bottle is a Serge Lutens bell jar that has a black cat and stars. I don’t even know the perfume inside!
Thank you for the draw! November 7, 2012 at 1:46am
Linda: Certainly not the most original choice, but I love the Dior J’adore bottle~ it’s a modern icon in terms of bottle design, in my opinion. I don’t think I’d ever buy a perfume just for the bottle, though! If I really liked a bottle that much, I’d probably just have a picture of it as my desktop background or something.
November 7, 2012 at 1:47am
Ines: Oh, that’s an easy one.
Shalimar! November 7, 2012 at 4:03am
Jenna: My favourite is Chanel, because I like simple bottles. I bought a bottle of Nina because I liked the packaging, but the perfume was never a hit with my husband. I still have the bottle, if even if I don’t ever wear Nina. November 7, 2012 at 5:26am
