Cornelia Blimber: I like winter a lot more better than summer, so in wintertime I crave for perfumes underpinning the fresh atmosphere. Perfumes reminding me of the summer (like Carnal Flower, TubereuseMPG, A la Nuit..) I like better when they bloom in summertime. Exception: Fracas is fresh to me in the cold. Wintertime means also chypres, like Femme, the original Fendi, Mitsouko. In the snow, my all time favourite is Fahrenheit 32.
It is my pleasure to go into the pure, clair winterday with Eau de Rochas or Eau du Coq.
Recently I found testers of Bois d’Encens, the dry, solemn smell matches the wintertime. Sometimes I make it more smiling : one wrist with Bois d’Encens, the other with Lys Soleia. January 18, 2013 at 7:31am
yin: it’s still rather chilly in milan so i’m really fond of warm, rich scents in this weather… recently been wearing serge luten’s five o’ clock, and been thinking about a bottle of arabie.

Merlin: Its the middle of summer where I live, so occasionally I forego my beloved Chergui for my also beloved Infusion d’ Iris. January 18, 2013 at 8:51am
Susan Loewenkamp: We’ve had a mild winter so far in Northern Virginia and I’ve been enjoying White Shoulders and Chanel 19 Poudre. However, the last few days we’ve finally entered the cold phase and I’ve been wanting the rich and warm Chanel No. 5 and even Arpege. Warm and rich. January 18, 2013 at 8:56am
Mel: I’m craving comfort scents. we are nearing the end of summer here and I can’t wait to start wearing my winter/fall fragrances. Fragrances like Coco, Bois des Iles, Guerlain Shalimar PI etc January 18, 2013 at 9:08am
Sandy C.: By Killian’s Love and Tears. The jasmine is so heart-rending – Love and Tears is the perfect name for it! January 18, 2013 at 9:12am
sherapop: In these cold times, I’m often craving amber and patchouli! January 18, 2013 at 9:13am
jennykat: It’s been so cold here that I’ve been fantasizing about Hawai’i (which I visited once, fifteen years ago). I remember the tuberose lei I bought at a farmer’s market, and how happy it made me—for days, it lasted. I put on Fracas yesterday and felt some of the same joy. January 18, 2013 at 9:19am
maureenC: Now that it is cold and crisp outside, I am craving Aromatics Elixir. January 18, 2013 at 9:20am
breathesgelatin: I am a Facebook follower.
Lately, I’ve been moving back toward spring-like florals… The winter is over, bring on spring! Been wearing Carillon Pour un Ange. Today I’m wearing Donna Karan Gold which nicely balances a spring floralcy with warm spiciness. January 18, 2013 at 9:26am
ChristyTB: I´m craving Shalimar..

Anne: I’m craving spicy, rosy and musky scents. It’s been so cold in California that I need every extra but of warmth and coziness available. January 18, 2013 at 9:34am
Klara: Thanks for the draw!
Now is heavy winter in Sweden and I often reach amber perfumes and heavy orientals, but also I like to use my beloved tuberose fragrances.:) January 18, 2013 at 9:39am
nastja: In the winter I want a deeper experience of winter, but something that evokes both the chill of the outdoors and the fire and spices indoors. Sandalwood and rose balances perfectly. I want to be wearing Serge Lutens Santal Majuscule or Le Labo Rose 31. But other than these two, I haven’t found the perfect balance of floral and woody that I love. So I alternate, one day something from Sonoma Scent Studio Incense Pure, the next day (like today) SL Tubereuse Criminelle. January 18, 2013 at 9:44am
Maureen: I recently re-discovered Burberry EDP…it’s a good all around classy comfort scent that I’ve been wearing to the office. January 18, 2013 at 9:49am

Elena: I’m moving into my third trimester of pregnancy, and I’m craving being able to enjoy perfume again! I don’t like anything new, strong, radiant, or with much sillage, and even of my old favorites, I can only wear a couple. Un Jardin Apres la Mousson has been one I wear a lot, along with Guerlain AA Mandarine Basilic. Only very light fresh scents for me at the moment. I’m dying to try Lys Soleia and the new Hermes, but I’ll hold off until my nose returns to normal. January 18, 2013 at 9:51am
Karen Kuhn: I am really craving Stilettoes on Lex and Aedes de Venustas. These scents make me feel lovely and always get compliments whenever I wear them. They certainly do not smell like the rest oif the mass marketed scents – and I love that! January 18, 2013 at 9:57am
shoppingaholic: I am craving fresh scent like Clinique Happy (Men), UDV Best of. Actually these two scents make me go crazy. They are fresh and definitely smell like happiness… if you know what i mean. I am not too much aware of perfumes terminology so i couldn’t mention the notes.
Love from India January 18, 2013 at 9:58am
SoirdeParis: Definitely craving Red Door by Elizabeth Arden at the moment, although I’m dying to discover new fragrances! January 18, 2013 at 9:59am
k8r8r: White Linen…facebook follower. I love your site. I am learning so much; many thanks!!! January 18, 2013 at 10:07am
Patt: It’s winter and very cold here today. Lately I’ve been wearing Coromandel, L’Ambre des Merveilles, and Cristalle. My birthday is coming up later this month, and I’m hoping for a full bottle of one of the aforementioned! January 18, 2013 at 10:15am
AnneD: I’m craving light fresh fragrances which is so unlike me. Especially with the colder weather we are having now. I usually pull out the heavy orientals, but for some reason I am pulling out Hermes Jardins and even No 19 edt.
I also wore Cartier Baiser Vole, which I can barely smell, but when I can smell it I just swoon. Perhaps it’s my age instead of the weather. Heavier fragrances such as Must de Cartier just seem like they should stay a memory. January 18, 2013 at 10:20am
Amy Orvin: Craving Pleasures by Estee Lauder or even Closer fragrance by Halle Berry. I wear both of them alot. Thank you for the giveaway! I am an email subscriber as 2dogs5catscrew@att.net January 18, 2013 at 10:22am
Ylva D.: During autumn and winter here in Sweden I have had thick, heavy gourmands, for ex Guerlain Gourmand Coquin, mmm…and lots of vanillaperfumes, I have Le Labo Vanille 44, Mona di Orio Vanille and the sweet, simple but amazing Tihota, yum! But even if it´s still winter and lots of snow, I´m starting to longing for more romantic and fresh spring-perfumes, like Annick Goutal Petit Cherie, La Violette, Neroli and Eau Hadrien, TOCCA etc. I don´t use them yet, but I really could feel a longing for spring and those fresh, beautiful spring-summerperfumes!. January 18, 2013 at 10:37am
Sherry: Right now, I am craving a few vintage scents. I would like to get some vintage Molinard de Molinard. I’ve never tried it, but it seems like something I would really love. I am also dying to get a hold of some Revlon Moondroops. My mom used to wear this one in the 70′s and 80′s. I remember loving this on her. I guess I will have try to get a bottle from Ebay. We’ll see what happens. Let the fun begin!! January 18, 2013 at 10:37am
Patrycja: In the winter I like perfumes that evoke memories of the warmer months with tropical notes of coconut, pineapple ,vanilla, yang-ylang etc. I like the first Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess and Black Orchid by Tom Ford for that purpose. January 18, 2013 at 10:48am
Allison: Thanks for the giveaway! I’m enjoying warm, rich, woody orientals as well right now – Tilda Swinton’s “Like This”by Etat Libre d’Orange, Serge Lutens “Bois de Vanille”, Tauer Perfumes “L’Air du Desert Marocain” and of course, Shalimar. But on some wet, gloomy grey days it feels nicer to play against the weather and choose a bright, sparkling floral. My favorite at the moment is “Lys Medeterranee” by Frederic Malle Editions de Parfumes. January 18, 2013 at 10:51am
Kristina K: I’m craving for Escada Magnetism which has been the perfect scent to me for many years now. January 18, 2013 at 10:52am

Chanel Bois des Iles
Chanel Coromandel

DK Essence Wenge
L’Artisan Voleur de Roses
Hermes Amber des Merveilles
and the list goes on and on and on… January 18, 2013 at 11:13am

Lean S: Thank you for all of your wonderful giveaways and reviews. Lately I’ve been craving all sorts of floral fragrances, soft, spicy, flirty. I think I’m getting in the mood for spring before it’s had the chance to arrive. January 18, 2013 at 11:19am
Elaf: I have been craving Chloe Love perfume for the past couple of weeks. Since I smelled this perfume in Sephora that day, I can’t stop thinking about it
January 18, 2013 at 11:24am

January 18, 2013 at 11:51am
Vishishta: I’m in one of those moods where I don’t know what I want! I put on a few drops of sandalwood this morning and (because it’s my favorite) I felt better, but I’m contemplating a whole new look, and would like to try some ‘out of the box’ (I mean my own box) new perfume. Thanks for the draw! January 18, 2013 at 11:51am
Carmen: My vegetable garden is feeling so abandoned right now. Craving chypre scents and all things spring. I’ve been pulling out Lacoste pour femme quite a bit these days too. Thanks for the offering. January 18, 2013 at 11:52am
Shannon: Florida’s winter this year has been so variable. When it’s very warm, I go for lighter and fresher scents (Chanel No. 5 EDT, White Linen, Annick Goutal Chevrefeuille), but we get a blast of cold from the north, I love the warm and spicy ones (Shalimar, Samsara, Chanel Coco, Youth Dew)! January 18, 2013 at 11:53am
Margo: It’s snowing here and I find myself craving Frederick Malle’s L’Eau d’Hiver for that icy heliotrope note. I also love the dark wood scents of Histories de Parfums Noir Patchouli right now. Thank you for the giveaway. January 18, 2013 at 11:54am

Hubbard: I’m craving clinique wrappings Santa maria novella’s Pomegranate kielhs musk Tom Ford BOVF as you can see I don’t consider the weather climate I just love head banger Scents n how can I forget Fuzzy Teacup by Smell Bent I could go on n on January 18, 2013 at 12:09pm
Linda: We’re just coming out of a bit of a cold snap where I live, so I’ve been craving warm comfort scents, like stuff with warm spices and vanilla. I’m currently on the hunt for that perfect vanilla scent~ haven’t found the right one for me yet, but getting there is half the fun!
January 18, 2013 at 12:09pm
CM: Not sure what I’m craving these days, but I do know I don’t have any! Ive been sampling a lot and am drawn to incense and amber these days. Thanks for the draw! January 18, 2013 at 12:21pm
Claudia: Amber and woody fragrances. January 18, 2013 at 12:31pm
Ms. M: lately, since its a little cold and dreary, Commes De Garcons, Kyoto and Jaisalmer are ones I reach for when i want to travel to far away places in my mind… Vanille Absolument compliments me all days… but when I wanna kick *ss just a little, Lolita Lampika comes along and turns a cold day sunny (with an attitude) before I even step outside
January 18, 2013 at 12:35pm
Radmila: How great! I crave for Diptyque Vertyverio and also Jo Malone Iris and white musk
Radmila. rada76@Mail.ru January 18, 2013 at 12:42pm
pasteli: In winter I always crave for something warm and spicy. The weather has a great impact on how I feel. So on sunny weather I feel carefree and I want something flowery, green and fresh. In winter I feel more introvert, which is better expressed with warm and mysterious scents. So I need woody warmth, spicy and gourmand notes. And a hint of darkness. Maybe liquorice. So, La petite robe noire by Guerlain, méchant loup by L’ Artisan Perfumeur and bois noir de Robert Piguet are on the top of my parfume craving list. January 18, 2013 at 12:54pm
Tilda Shalof: craving them all. right now I’m wearing bottega veneta… can’t wait till that wears off and then I’ll put on some coriandre.. completely diff, of course. I love it, even the re-formulated version. January 18, 2013 at 1:05pm
Katie: Wow! Haven’t heard anyone wearing Coriandre in AGES!! I still love it too and have a stash of original bottles. It was available for so long at discount stores like TJMax so I stocked up! A chypre that brought many a compliment for me in the early eighties! Enjoy! I like Botegga Venetta too! January 18, 2013 at 1:14pm
Mihaela: “What scents are you craving these days?” hm… let’s see… well, fruits, sugars, deep and intoxicating fragrances that go well with a grey afternoon, scents that lighten up the gloomy skies. I crave something exotic, to make me think I’m in Malibu or in Hawaii!
January 18, 2013 at 1:06pm
Katie: I’m craving incense, and also musky and vanilla fragrances. I’m so into LeLabo vetiver for the past 2 weeks – it’s sweet incense rolls my eyes! Also loving ‘Its Not A Perfume’ just pure muskiness – also CdG incense series -all of them!!! January 18, 2013 at 1:10pm
Apollonia: These days while it is so cold here in the US mid-west I have been craving the perfect scents of patchouli, musk, civet, amber, sandalwood, plum and purple flowers, but not necessarily all together! I’ve always been drawn more towards the “earthier” scents rather than fruity ones, I think, and these days of winter call for darker fragrances that seem to envelop me in warmth, not white flowers or fruit. January 18, 2013 at 1:12pm
Jan Last: We are having such a weird winter as far as temperatures go. No snow to speak of either. So…Every day is an adventure, scent-wise. Today is Noir Epices, tommorrow, who knows? Annick Goutal’s Mandragore, Commes de Garcons Play Green, 1000 Flowers Narcotic Flowers or Reglisse Noir, Shalimar. I’m going to mix it up this winter and not follow my usual amber path. January 18, 2013 at 1:12pm
leo: It’s cold, so I am craving musks. Sampled Musc Tonkin, and while I am both baffled and awes by it January 18, 2013 at 1:12pm
Wendy: cold and damp here in the Pacific Northwest…wet, black branches and fog. I’m grateful to be in the warm studio with no where I have to go. Wearing a sample of the, I believe, discontinued S.L. “Five O’Clock Au Gingembre”. Honey, patchouli, dark chocolate and pepper…I think, ginger….it suits the weather perfectly. January 18, 2013 at 2:00pm
Absolute Scentualist: Thanks, Victoria, for the drawing! I seem to be falling back into a violet and leather phase. It would be awesome to find a good combination of the two.
January 18, 2013 at 2:13pm
Annikky: I have just received my sample of Arquiste Aleksandr and if you haven’t tried it yet, it’s worth a sniff. It is a lovely, subtle violet-leather, beautiful in the cold. January 19, 2013 at 5:51am
Andrea: Hello V! I am Experiencing a lot more physical pain lately, and that coupled with winter has been making me desire “comfort” scents, like vanilla. I have pulled out all of my vanilla samples for a “test”, and gourmand rose scents have captured my attention as well. I spray one on my heavy “fur-like” bathrobe at night it literally enrobes me in scent. A distraction to pain which I welcome!:-) January 18, 2013 at 2:58pm
Janet Pearson: Ideally like Opium in the winter when it is freezing; but I have been wearing Tresor in Love and Miracle by Lancôme. I love Juicy Couture when it gets warm; it lasts and wears so beautifully well. Thanks so much for your expertise and the hope of winning. January 18, 2013 at 3:01pm
Norah: It wasn’t until recently that I started really learning about fragrances, but I’m curious about any scent that takes me beyond the fruity florals that are in my comfort zone now. That’s kind of a non-answer, but I’m learning as I go! January 18, 2013 at 3:41pm
Phanie Constanda: Because of the cold weather
I usually crave for warm vanilla and amber notes.Once in a blue moon ( otherwise on a crisp but sunny winter Sunday) I may wear a lush floral or floriental perfume just to remind myself that spring is on her way
Chanel Coromandel and the latest Hermes: Ambre des Merveilles and Jour d’Hermes are my best choices for A/W 202-2013 January 18, 2013 at 3:52pm
Nicole: It’s chilly out, so I’m enjoying my new bottle of Prada Candy. It’s a nice comfort scent. January 18, 2013 at 4:17pm
Steph: I’m craving Philosophy’s Field of Flowers Peony Blossom. It’s (obviously) very floral. Now that the big holidays have pasted I am looking forward to Spring. I live in southern California so it’s pretty spring-like already. Bring on the flowery sundresses! January 18, 2013 at 4:23pm
Chris: Thank You Very Much for holding this drawing, and I would love to be the winner! January 18, 2013 at 4:34pm
Michele: I am craving my Flor Azteca. Creamy tuberose and chocolate . Mmmmm, don’t know whether to smell it or drink it! January 18, 2013 at 4:35pm
Lora Wooten: With the cooler weather I’ve been craving richer, spicier frags like Le Labo Rose 31, Shalimar, Coromandel. January 18, 2013 at 5:09pm
Loredana: We are in the middle of summer in Oz and been having some scorching 40-degree-C days with hot, dry winds. I have been craving two types of scents…sparkling, fresh and citrusy scents is one. But I have also been searching for some time for a very earthy and mossy fragrance that makes me feel like I am walking alone under the dense canopy of cool, misty woods, the aroma of oakmoss being scrunched under my feet wafting up to me and the moist bark of tall old trees and the heady woodsy smell combined with the freshness of strong cool mountain air. Would love it if you had some recommendations for me in this regard Victoria. Thanks for the opportunity to win this lovely fragrance. Been following you on Facebook for some time and love to read your reviews amd recommendations. January 18, 2013 at 4:45pm
Nancy A.: I was at Saks Fifth Avenue searching for the newly created fragrances, in particular Jour d’Hermes. It hasn’t launched yet at Saks until maybe sometime next week (in time for my birthday!) so I smelled the 3 new ones by Kilian clad in white packaging, the D.Karan Private Collection sniffing Labdunum and Jasmine of the six displayed in simple black packaging but more sophisticated and theoretically not unlike Le Labo. I went off to fulfill my birthday gift from Aveda, which by my choice body lotion in a blend of Jasmine, Sandalwood & Patchouli. On this cold day, this blend of oils is what I desired, in particular the patchouli. As always, thanks for the drawing! January 18, 2013 at 5:10pm
Tina Marie Colombo: I’ve been wearing Narciso Rodriguez ‘For Her’ Eau de Parfum (the pink one), Hot Couture EDT, and Lolita Lempicka, which I think of as winter scents. However, one day this week I put on Beautiful Love, and it was a bit of a pick-me-up smelling something floral all day. I’d love to find some kind of refreshing, yet wintery scent that would bridge these two types. January 18, 2013 at 5:19pm
Andre: For some reason I have been craving orris-based scents lately: Hiris, 28 La Pausa, Iris Bleu Gris, etc. Seems like the cold weather would do the opposite. January 18, 2013 at 6:34pm
Rahoka: I am craving Kenzo Elephant. January 18, 2013 at 9:20pm
Stefanie Gladden ( Ann Lyfe ): these days I’ve been in the mood to wear Ralph Lauren’s Romance! A classic!

Raluca: I’m a white flowers type of girl but because of the winter i’ve been craving vanilla and spices. I have Organza indecence and also put on cuir beluga at the guerlain counter. even angel joined my collection recently even though I used to be indifferent to it. It’s the weather but it may also be that my “nose” is changing. January 18, 2013 at 11:04pm
Laura: This time of year I vacillate between fresh floral scents that remind me of spring (the way it’s reassuring to go on holiday and see flowers when one must endure exceedingly long winters) and darker, cozier skin scents. January 18, 2013 at 11:17pm
Yile: I am craving Goest Perfumes, Silent Films.
January 19, 2013 at 12:08am

TaffyJ: I’ve been craving vanilla, particularly the Shalimar Ode a la Vanille 2012. It’s richness is so comfy when the temperature drops. January 19, 2013 at 12:27am
Lynley: I’ve always hated white florals, but sometime over the last few months something changed and I can’t get enough! so this summer is all about heady white flowers- Fracas, Beyond Love, Nasomatto Nuda and Narcotic Venus, Manoumalia, and my beloved orange blossoms; Seville a l’aube and Francis Kurkdjian APOM. January 19, 2013 at 12:28am
ramone: Lynley, i agree with you, because I had 2 samples of these orange scents: L’artisan and FK APOM and i had to pick one as i had money only for one of them. It was a hard decision and the winner is seville a l’aube, for the happy and comfort mood this scent gave to me. But FK is hunting me… January 19, 2013 at 3:27am

.
I’m also really enjoying Chanel 19 poudre which is cosy and clean when I’m out in the freezing weather. Angel is a growing obsession too – am about to buy my first bottle. Yum! January 19, 2013 at 3:41am

Thank you for the draw! January 19, 2013 at 12:23pm
Ferris: For some reason, this winter, I’m craving floral scents that have coumarin or vanilla in the drydown. The ones I reach for most in Caron Pour Homme and Fleur du Male. They really hit the spot and are very comforting during this cold winter season. January 19, 2013 at 2:28pm
Lexi: It’s the middle of a hot summer here and I’m much more of a winter person. I miss my warm comforting scents. Right now I’m craving heavy spicy and woody scents such as Coco Chanel and Bvlgari Omnia. I’m getting myself through the summer with a spray of La Petite Robe Noire, a fruity and spicy one on me that smells of freshly picked cherries with a soft dry down of aniseed, iris and vanilla. January 19, 2013 at 7:20pm
Tanya White: I can’t get enough of Bottega Veneta at the moment. Have even sprayed it before going to bed

Monika: As usual in winter I crave heavier, ambery and spicy scents. Plus vanilla. This year Ambre Gris and Shalimar wins, and I miss L by Lolita Lempicka.
However, rather suprisingly I find myself craving chypres as well – I’ve been wearing Femme, Silences and Safari. January 20, 2013 at 5:01am
Divya: I am craving DK cashmere mist simply because it’s going to get warmer from now on and I know I’ll be missing it for months! It smells white and warm then fades into a nice powdery, fluffy, clean-kitty-cat smell
the name is so apt too! *going for a spritz now* January 20, 2013 at 9:03am
Christi Ferry: I have a dead oak tree in my yard that is covered in lush oak moss. In the morning, salty for rolls in off the gulf of Mexico and standing under that tree is heavenly. I’m craving a way to bottle that scent. January 20, 2013 at 10:35am
maja: I was lucky enough to get a (half) bottle of vintage Chanel 19 in a swap last week. Now I’m craving only iris and vetiver and spraying myself continuously
out of season. I think it has lost its sharp and somewhat bitter bite and it has become gorgeous even more. I’m in love. January 20, 2013 at 11:44am
Sapna: I belong to Kerala in India. We have a hot and humid tropical climate throughout the year.Usually I wear very fresh, clean floral perfumes. Recently I have been reading Jane Austen novels a lot, in fact I am totally hooked on them. So I crave for fragrances which will give me a feel of the charming Regency world. I desire florals like Bvlgari Pour femme, Yardley English Rose, L`Eau d`Issey Florale etc January 20, 2013 at 12:30pm
Amer: I crave muskiness for some reason. It has never happened to me before January 20, 2013 at 3:14pm
