L’Artisan Parfumeur will unveil a new perfume collection in September 2013. Explosions d’Emotions will include three new fragrances created by perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour: Amour Nocturne, Déliria, and Skin on Skin.
Amour Nocturne captures the idea of tenderness. It features notes of milk, caramel, gunpowder, cedarwood and orchid.
Déliria is about intoxication. It blends metallic notes, rhum with the gourmand sweetness of toffee apple and cotton candy.
Skin on Skin is described as seductive. It includes iris, rose, lavender, saffron, whiskey in addition to suede and musks. and suede velvet leather with saffron, whisky, lavender and rose.
Perfumes will be available in L’Artisan Parfumeur boutiques, counters and online. 125ml/£135. Via fashionmonitor and press release.

Key change: Oh wow, I haven’t heard of gunpowder being used in perfume before, but it sounds interesting! I always get a wee worried that the “metallic” portion will be overdone though, and distract my nose from appreciating the remainder of the fragrance. May 28, 2013 at 10:40am
Victoria: 🙂 Some notes have the kind of sharp, mineral effect to them, which can be an interesting addition. Not sure what L’Artisan means by gunpowder in this case though.
If you’re curious about the mineral effect I’m talking about, try Terre d’Hermes and Comme des Garcons Amazingreen! They also advertise “gunpowder” in their notes. May 28, 2013 at 3:19pm
Nancy A.: L’artisan is hard to come by these days. Henri Bendel’s longstanding freestanding boutique is no more. And yet I’m hearing all about their newly created fragrances and in this review sounds alluring and intoxicating based on the variant compositions. Nonetheless, I look forward to testing them all! Victoria: This collection also made me think of another emotion inspired line from L’Artisan, Sautes d’Humeur. It was created by Olivia Giacobetti and represented different moods and emotional states: jealousy, happiness, etc. May 29, 2013 at 6:21am

Victoria: He’s impressive, but then again, most perfumers work on more than a dozen projects at once. It’s just that most of them never end up on the market. BD, on the other hand, works very hard, but he has a chance to pick clients and get rewarded for his creativity (not just the cost of oil, as the big company perfumers do). May 31, 2013 at 11:15am
