  • Marie: The bottle looks like Eau de Lit and the note descriptions. March 4, 2014 at 7:43am Reply

    • Victoria: I haven’t tried it yet, but a friend who did said that they’re very different. Eau de Cashmere is much more woody and less floral, while Eau de Lit is musky, sweet, vanilla-like. I’m curious to try it not so much for the perfume but to see how it might layer with some other Guerlain perfumes. March 4, 2014 at 8:17am Reply

  • Aisha: I LOVE THE BOTTLE! 🙂

If I see it, I’ll have to test it. March 4, 2014 at 8:51am Reply

    • Victoria: All of these rounded bottle from Guerlain are so pretty, and the color combinations really catch my eye. The last thing I need is another soft, cozy perfume (I have enough!), but the idea of Eau de Cashmere sounds charming. I’ll definitely have to try it. March 4, 2014 at 9:18am Reply

  • Sandra: Great bottle! Guerlain does some of the best bottles. They are their own work of art! Beautiful..
Like you I have a lot of soft and cozy perfumes. Today I am wearing vintage samsara which is sandalwood sandalwood and more sandalwood , cozy and comforting on this bitter cold day. March 4, 2014 at 10:11am Reply

    • Victoria: I was wearing Diptyque Tam Dao, but I must have underapplied, because I can’t smell it anymore. On the other hand, your mention of Samsara reminded me how soft and cozy it feels, so I put it on over Tam Dao. Sandalwood+more sandalwood=bliss. 🙂 March 4, 2014 at 10:15am Reply

      • maja: I’ve made quite a blasphemous layering experiment today. Very simple Vanille Molinard and some divine L’Heure Bleue. It is actually sooo good. March 4, 2014 at 11:27am Reply

        • Victoria: Ha! I also have Roses de Chloe on another arm (couldn’t resist after reading Elisa’s review). 🙂

But Vanille + L’Heure Bleue sound like a terrific combination. Vanille must amplify the vanilla-almond marshmallow layer in L’Heure Bleue and make it more gourmand but not sticky. March 4, 2014 at 11:53am Reply

          • maja: Exactly! I bought Vanille thinking it could work on its own as a simple vanilla I was looking for but it doesn’t. Not at least until the drydown. But layering is another story. 🙂 March 4, 2014 at 12:08pm Reply

  • maja: The bottle is fantastic, can’t resist similar colours. 🙂 I’d love to try it. March 4, 2014 at 11:22am Reply

    • Victoria: The grey and muted pink is such a great combo. I have a scarf in that shade of pink, and it brightens up just about any dark outfit. March 4, 2014 at 11:48am Reply

  • Nicola Stephens: Love the sound of this – those notes sound so appealing! And the thought that my jumpers had their own perfume just cracks me up! March 4, 2014 at 12:20pm Reply

    • Victoria: “My sweater wears Guerlain, daaaarling.” 🙂 March 4, 2014 at 12:30pm Reply

  • george: I assume one sprays on a cashmere jumper and then WEARS the jumper, and it’s not a perfume for one’s jumper to enjoy like sometimes you get perfumes for babies and dogs…… I like the bottle, but individually specified accessorising of one’s accessories- scarf or perfumes- is far too rococo a concept. I mean: will there be a perfume for layering with perfumes for clothes for childrens’ doll’s dolls pets’ fleas? Despite being a fabric wearer myself- regardless of any perfumer’s intent- we must stop this madness now! March 4, 2014 at 12:47pm Reply

    • Victoria: 🙂 No, I think that you can wear it in any way you want, rather than just perfuming your sweaters and admiring them from afar. But while this particular perfume seems interesting, I understand what you mean about the whole gimmicky “perfume for perfume” thing. A good fragrance should smell good on its own, and that will be my test for Eau de Cashmere. March 4, 2014 at 3:34pm Reply

      • george: I look forward to the review! March 4, 2014 at 6:11pm Reply

    • Anne of Green Gables: george, you cracked me up again with “doll’s dolls and pet’s fleas”! 🙂 I actually didn’t know that there were perfumes for dogs. But since dogs have really sensitive sense of smell, would it be such a good idea to perfume them?? I only found out today that there’s a TV channel for dogs and thought that it was really funny. • Ann: Ha! I totally agree. And when the same said sweater needs a workout, will we apply sweater deodorant? And when the wool begins to pill, will we test various sweater anti-aging applications? What about a sweater for the sweater when it gets cold?

Although, I have always wondered about a fragrance designed to work with that barnyard funk that happens whenever I wear wool in the rain… So, I for one would be interest in a fragrance for wet wool, and if the marketing gurus insist, they can call it ‘Eau du Cashmere pour le Cashmere de L’eau’! • Victoria: I’m on the floor laughing. 🙂 March 5, 2014 at 12:45pm Reply

      • george: ‘L’eau du Cashmere pour le Cashmere de L’eau’ sounds great: I hope there’s a flanker! March 6, 2014 at 8:00am Reply

  • Clothilde: This could not sound any better! I’ve been perfuming my lingerie and my sheets almost on a daily basis, and a perfume for my most loved sweaters is just what I have been missing in my collection!
Also, they really should launch a perfume for purses or bags, something leathery. Or even a perfume for hair, because I do love to put on some perfume in my hair, because it seems like it lasts much longer than on skin or even on fabrics!
Anyway, another bottle on my to-scent list, and perhaps on my to-buy list. Thank you for this news! March 4, 2014 at 1:04pm Reply

    • Sandra: Maybe you could use this new one on your hair since you can use it on wool. Isn’t wool hair from a sheep?
When I was little I remember my grandma you to use a little shampoo to hand wash her wool and cashmere sweaters..it seemed to work ok.
I am no expert-so maybe don’t listen to me! March 4, 2014 at 2:16pm Reply

    • Victoria: There are a few lines that have special perfumes for hair, such as Balenciaga, Chanel, Aquolina, etc. But Sandra has a point, you can use any perfume at all. I usually don’t spray hair itself, but rather at the nape of my neck, close to the hairline. It makes perfume last really well and gives you a great sillage. March 4, 2014 at 3:40pm Reply

    • Rowanhill: Bottega Veneta should be the perfect handbag perfume, it smells of expensive leather and lipstick. 🙂 March 5, 2014 at 10:18am Reply

  • Lindsay: The only time my wonderful homeland is a disadvantage – too far from Guerlain gorgeousness! Love the description, love the bottle, always have room for more soft and cozy!… March 4, 2014 at 3:07pm Reply

    • Victoria: Belgium doesn’t boast that much as far as perfume goes, but there is a Guerlain boutique. It does take quite a drive to get there, but occasionally we go, because the area itself is charming and there is a very good brewery nearby. So, my husband and I combine our interests. 🙂 March 4, 2014 at 3:50pm Reply

  • Lynn Morgan: This sounds like heaven, but why release it in the Spring? It sounds like a natural for Fall/Winter. It’s almost time to put the cashmere away! March 4, 2014 at 3:56pm Reply

    • Victoria: Hmm, good point, but then again, the timing of most launches doesn’t make sense to me anymore. March 4, 2014 at 4:11pm Reply

  • monsieurguerlain: This scent does not belong to the L’Art & la Matière line, actually. March 7, 2014 at 7:20am Reply

    • Victoria: Guerlain lists it under the L’Art & la Matière line on their website and in the descriptions at the boutique. Ultimately, it’s probably more like Eau de Lingerie, etc., a light, sheer perfume. March 7, 2014 at 7:56am Reply
