Traveling Perfume Box : USA

Our US perfume box is ready to make its next round. If you are in the States and would like to participate, here is how you can do it. And whether you’re participating or not, please read Vishishta’s perfume descriptions below.

aedes-gift

How does it work: To enter, please post a comment answer these questions: 1) are you in the USA, and if you’re a winner, can I share your email address with Vishishta? ; 2) do you agree to pass the box onto someone else within two weeks or so (add a couple of your own samples and share your sampling notes with the rest of us)? and 3) what perfume are you wearing today? I will pick the next person to receive the box via a random number generator. I will announce that person in this spot and contact them via email. That person is Cindy.

When a winner is ready to pass the box onto someone else, they should get in touch with me. Please include the full list of samples and your sampling notes (what you’ve discovered, what you’ve liked/disliked, any observations you care to include). To check the progress of our boxes, please click on the Traveling Sample Box tag.

Smelling Notes:

Byredo Black Saffron: this one I loved at first–does not last as
a spicy perfume, has a long lasting
grapefruit/citrus

Serge Lutens Jeux de Peau: Also would buy–soft and spicy

L’Artisan Parfumeur Passage d’Enfer – Love the campfire opening, quiet.

Annick Goutal Petite Cherie: Very light! Good for a child–full of air!

Library of Flowers Forget Me Not: Old fashioned–not my style but interesting

LUSH Breath of God: Another ‘discovery’! Love the citrus opening

Tom Ford Sahara Noir: Too strong for the skin but good for a scarf

Parfums del Rae Coup de Foudre: Disappears in minutes

Amouage Opus II Will revisit

Hanae Mori EDT A good summer fragrance–I have this and love it

Marni EDP: Nothing special–certainly not like the great movie “Marnie”

Dolce & Gabbana Dolce: too faint to matter

Tom Ford Velvet Orchid: Overwhelming and chemical; stuck in my nose
and I couldn’t smell anything
for hours! Don’t do this one first!

Lancome La Vie Est Belle: Didn’t like this at first–seemed borin
but later! Ladylike and
flowery–good for day use.

Prada Candy: Like no candy I have ever liked–smells like licorice
which I don’t like!

Exceptional: Not

Michael Kors Glam Jasmine: Also boring

Elizabeth and James Nirvana White: Went back to this several times.
Something about
it works, but I could never tell
what.
Probablywouldn’t buy it–but she’s on the
right track!

Roses de Chloe: Hopeful for this one as I love roses– but alas, nothing!

Calvin Klein Endless Euphoria: Not quite but nice

Valentino Valentina: Like an old woman who is still trying to be young

Thierry Mugler Angel: Have never liked this, but I tried it again
just to be a sport. Still
didn’t see what the fuss was about!

Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb: Love these florals–so lush, so feminine!

Viktor & Rolf Bonbon: this one too Will consider buying this!

Keiko Mecheri Bois de Santal: Accidentally spilled this on my
hands–didn’t seem too
great, although Mecheri
is one of my great favorites.
hours later, my hands
were still scented with
Sandalwood–Yes

Aftelier Cacao: Love her fragrances, but they disappear very quickly

Serge Lutens Fleurs d’Oranger: What could surpass orange blossoms–not this.

Comme des Garçons Undercover Holygrace: Like a church but not like a
personal scent

Carven EDP: Could not smell this–sometimes it happens–tried 3
times–nothing!

Eau de Cartier Zeste du Soleil: Wasn’t prepared to like this one but
I did–a wonderful
and elegant summer scent

Parfums Nicolai Patchouli Intense: reminded me of the 60s in San
Francisco–strong,
but would be great
layered with Sandalwood and Rose

Carthusia Caprissimo; like a spicy cappucino

Carthusia Fiori di Capri: Opening flowers very bright

Carthusia Mediterraneo: bitter orange, sharp corners–did not like this one

Profumum Vanitas; just back from Tahiti where I sat in the sun with
Vanilla oil on.
This perfume comes close to that.

By Killian Cruel Intentions: Don’t bother trying this if you’re
intrigued by the title–
chemical and rough!
