paradise: hilary duff? goodness. she is what…18? 19? i forget. i understand that celebrities want to take advantage of their current public appeal and market themselves in as many ways as possible but the onslaught of celeb fragances annoys me. granted, they may have very little to do with the construction of the perfume itself but the idea of purchasing an item b/c so and so has their name attached is something that i can’t seem to bring myself to do. or maybe it’s just my disapproval with their target audience of younger teenage girls, which is a much bigger issue that i probably shouldn’t discuss here. i was at the doctor’s office the other day, sitting in the waiting room, and two 14-15 y.o. girls came in both drenched in britney spears’ curious, so much so that i was getting nauseous. oh vic, perfume should never be abused like this! so i guess i just wanted to say, celeb fragrances themselves, not necessarily bad. effects of good marketing of celeb fragrance to teenage audience, possibly catastrophic. BoisdeJasmin: Paradise, I agree that while the celebrity fragrances are not bad at all, the whole trend is just so commercial and uninteresting. I do like Sarah Jessica Parker and Alan Cumming’s perfume, however. Maybe, it is because I like the celebrities in question. May 10, 2006 at 2:45pm
