Rose_purple_1

Les Parfums de Rosine is introducing a new masculine fragrance. Twill Rose is comprised of the green top notes of tangerine, bergamot, neroli, pink pepper and galbanum, which evoke rose leaves. The heart includes Bulgarian rose, violet and cumin. The drydown is grounded by sandalwood and salty notes.

Twill Rose is already available from First-in-Fragrance.

  • violetnoir: I love the name, V. This sounds much better than their other men’s fragrance.

  • Erika: This sounds very intriguing! It would be lovely to find a rose that hasn’t been mutated into something ‘pretty pretty’ – a little bit worn around the edges? I’m adding this to my ‘need to smell’ list, thanks BdJ! October 10, 2006 at 9:24am Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Marlen, I hope so too. Enough of pretty roses! October 11, 2006 at 1:41am Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: R, I liked Rose d’Homme as well, but Twill seems particularly appealing. I am looking forward to trying it. October 11, 2006 at 1:41am Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Erika, I love the idea of a rose worn around the edges, like roses from Caravaggio’s paintings. Not sure if Twill might suit this description, but it sounds interesting nevertheless. October 11, 2006 at 1:42am Reply

  • newproducts: Hi Victoria, I am a long-time fan of your reviews but always felt too intimidated to post here, silly me.
If this new Rosine smells like that gorgeous pic of roses you have on this review, I’m there! The pic captures my idea of how “Twill Rose” should smell.
As a fellow rose lover, I feel there are too many rose fragrances, not enough time (or money). *Sigh* 😉 October 11, 2006 at 9:55am Reply

  • newproducts: Oh my! Just went and read the description of Parfums d’Empire Eau Suave, and it sounds beautiful. And the list grows… Thank you for the rec. 🙂 October 11, 2006 at 3:07pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Newproducts, welcome! I am glad to see you here. 🙂 I love roses, and it is one of the flowers that I never fail to be amazed by, from buttery rich roses of Joy to sheer crisp ones of Rosine’s Ecume de Rose. Have you tried Parfums d’Empire Eau Suave? I love its dark, rich rose. October 11, 2006 at 12:44pm Reply

  • chayaruchama: This Rosine sounds particularly appealing to me…
I tried the Rose de Feu today.
It has a sassy, bright beginning, feeling a bit aldehydic, but somehow, over an hour or so, develops an almost Opium-like note that is cheery but more oriental in the drydown.
Not at all what I expected- but very pretty. October 12, 2006 at 4:25pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Newproducts, just as I think there are no new releases I like, I discover a few that are very interesting. It never ends… October 13, 2006 at 5:13pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Chaya, I agree completely with you on Rose de Feu. It was not what I expected at all, but it is definitely pretty. October 13, 2006 at 5:14pm Reply
