In spring of 2012, Serge Lutens will release a new fragrance in his “Water” series. L’Eau Froide (Cold Water) will follow L’Eau de Serge Lutens launched in 2010. The main ingredient of L’Eau Froide is frankincense, and although incense conjures smoldering, burning images, the raw material possesses a chilly, crisp scent reminiscent of crushed peppercorns and bitter lemon peel. It also includes a cocktail of musk and citrus notes.
Lutens noted about the original L’Eau, ‘When I presented L’Eau to my team, I felt like Saint Just informing the nobles they were going to lose their privileges.” Let’s hope that L’Eau Froide will restore of the spirits!
L’Eau Froide will be available as Eau de Parfum in 1.7 oz and 3.4 oz bottles, 69 and 100 euros respectively.

Lavanya: hmm- interesting..The original L’Eau was so ‘un -Lutensish’- but it did seem to take ‘clean non-scent’ to the extreme, so I am curious about this.
V- have you smelled the export version of Tubereuse Criminelle and if so do you know if it has been reformulated? (The version I fell in love with was from either 2006/2007).

Raluca: V- you probably know this, but Tubereuse Criminelle is available at Barney’s. I smelled it today. They didn’t have it a few months ago when I bought Carnal Flower. At first, TC smells just like you described it, like gasoline. After that it turns into something amazing! I love it! I think I like it better than Carnal Flower. I actually went to Barney’s in order to try Musc Ravageur which I read so much about. Interesting scent. To me it smells like a mixture or horse manure and baby powder. What is all the hype about? What do people go crazy over it? I think I like Noire Epice better but the reaction others have to Musc Ravageur intrigues me. I have to say that those working at Barney’s are not very friendly. It’s too obvious that all they care about is you making a purchase right than and there and they somehow look down on you.
