Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess and Bronze Goddess Capri : New Fragrance

Capri

The summer fragrance Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess is coming back this year for a limited time starting March. There will also be a new variation called Bronze Goddess Capri.

“Bronze Goddess Capri is a limited edition, Solar Oriental fragrance inspired by the seductive Isle of Capri. Sparkling and exotic, NEW Bronze Goddess Capri Fragrance flawlessly shines with alluring notes of Cassis and juicy Mandarin, while the luscious blend of Lemon Leaves glistens like an incandescent drop of liquid sunshine. The heart, a warm touch of radiant sensuality, reveals an intoxicating floral energy of sun-soaked Jasmine Sambac and sensual Muguet. Rich, elegant layers of gilded Peony envelop the skin like liquid gold. The sensuous heat intensifies in the dry down, surrounded by a surge of creamy Vanilla enhanced by fluid Amberwood and the exotic aroma of Patchouli and Musk.”

The Bronze Goddess Fragrance Collection includes Bronze Goddess Capri Eau Fraiche/Skinscent (100ml $57.00) and Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche/Skinscent (100ml $57.00). Both will be available at Estee Lauder counters nationwide, directly from esteelauder.com and duty-free shops beginning March 2012. Via press release

  • Lily: I am exhausted just reading that copy!

Love the original Bronze Goddess but not enough to justify flanker-ing. The extra citrus sounds nice though. January 17, 2012 at 9:22pm Reply

  • skilletlicker: Maybe I’m being peevish but I feel like original scents (like Bronze Goddess which I really really REALLY like) are emasculated through the context of (by now) annual releases of subtle variations. It’s confusing and dilutes the power and magic of the original scent. Why can’t Bronze Goddess stand on its own w/o the distraction of perhaps less worthy handmaidens w/ citrusy add-ons? Obviously, I’m a purist, and not a marketing genius. Still, a new “Capri” Bronze Goddess makes me feel like a target of focus group mentality. January 17, 2012 at 11:34pm Reply

  • Victoria: 🙂 Well, it uses every synonym for the word “seductive!” And then the surging of creamy vanilla into the fluid amberwood…. Suddenly I am not sure what I am reading anymore.

I did not care for the last year’s Soleil variation. I remain loyal to the original, I guess, but I am always looking forward to trying these editions anyway. If nothing else, they are usually well-made. January 17, 2012 at 10:37pm Reply

  • [email protected]: I hoard my bottle (and its dwindling contents) of the original Azuree Soleil and so have not bothered with BG or its flankers. However there is something about the cassis and mandarin notes in this one which interest me enough to take note and sniff when the opportunity arises. Lovely colours on the bottle too.

  • Pklagrange: I have enjoyed BG & BGS – However I agree that BG is the better. Given how well made this series is, I will testing Capri ASAP. January 18, 2012 at 9:16am Reply

  • Victoria: No, you are not being peevish. It is true. Flankers cannibalize the pillar brand to a lesser or greater extent depending on the context, etc. But they are a quick and inexpensive way to launch a perfume. The costs of launching a completely new perfume for a big house are astronomical. January 18, 2012 at 7:57am Reply

  • Victoria: I only had a decant of the original, but BG is very close. It is my ultimate summer perfume. Who knew that amber with coconut could be such a sexy combination! January 18, 2012 at 11:34am Reply

  • Victoria: I'm trying to imagine a citrusy and green top + peony on BG! At least, that's what it sounds like based on the description. January 18, 2012 at 11:47am Reply

  • bulldoggirl: Bronze Goddess is one of my all time favorite summer and vacation scents. Last year’s flanker was a major disappointment, though–it disappeared from my skin in about 2.5 seconds, a total puzzle since BG has remarkable staying power. However, I will give Capri a shot regardless. ‘Cause that’s just how I roll when it comes to a Lauder scent. Always, always give a new one the benefit of a sniff :o) January 18, 2012 at 8:13pm Reply

  • Marlene: I can only hope BG comes back again with the new Capri flanker. BG is just so nice, so easy. The ad notes really don’t give out any of the original. Probably will try it, anyway. January 18, 2012 at 10:09pm Reply

  • Victoria: I also try them anyway, but I agree, the original is the best version. Last year’s version was nice, but not as unique as BG. January 19, 2012 at 9:58am Reply

  • Victoria: It looks like BG should come back! January 19, 2012 at 9:59am Reply
