Etat Libre d`Orange Jasmin Et Cigarette Giveaway

Today we have a giveaway thanks to one of our readers. Natalie offers to send one of you a bottle of Etat Libre d`Orange Jasmin Et Cigarette (50ml, 3/4 full, original packaging). She decided that it no longer feels right for her, but she hopes that it might find a new home. Natalie is in the USA, but can send her bottle anywhere, provided it will be possible given the restrictions on shipping alcohol. It’s her 4th of July gift to us. Happy holiday to all who are celebrating!

It goes without saying that we are not responsible for leaks or damage during transit or for lost packages.

To participate, please answer these questions. I will randomly draw one winner.

1. What perfume are you wearing today and why did you pick it?
2. May I contact you via email to notify you of your win?

The contest is now closed. The winner is Anita. Congratulations! I will contact you via email.

  • Ben: What a fantastic offer! My partner really loves this scent, so yes, please do email me if I qualify!
    1. Today I’m wearing Phoenicia by Heeley. It’s all part of my ongoing quest to find a summer scent that has a ‘just for me’ quality, and this one was recommended to me on a Bois de Jasmin thread. It’s definitely a strong contender! Lots going on, and a great woody/incense quality, but without being too heavy. A great recommendation. July 3, 2017 at 7:19am

  • sara: I am wearing Metalys today. Having a “wear-a-Guerlain-a-day” perfume thread. It’s perfect in all kinds of weather, even the extreme heat we’re having. Feel free to email me! Thanks for the drawing. July 3, 2017 at 8:44am

  • Ann: How generous! I just sampled a wonderful tobacco scent yesterday from SSS, Tabac Aurea, and I love the warmth of the tobacco scent. Of course, you can email me if needed 🙂

So, this is kind of embarrassing, but I am wearing a old Avon scent Mesmerize along with Tommy Girl. Does that disqualify me, ha 🙂 July 3, 2017 at 8:48am

    • Kathy: Hi Ann, I like Mesmerize, too; it can hold its own in any company, IMHO! I tracked down a bottle of the vintage after buying the re-release; I think every perfume lover should give it a try. Now you have made me want to try Tommy Girl, which I would have passed over otherwise. July 3, 2017 at 2:57pm

      • Ann: 🙂 amongst the offerings at my local dept. store, I really do like Tommy girl – a guilty pleasure.

Do you know how to tell if a bottle of Mesmerize is vintage or re-release? July 3, 2017 at 3:32pm

      • Ann: It looks like my bottle of Mesmerize is from 2002 – any idea if that is pre or post re-formulation? July 3, 2017 at 7:15pm

        • Kathy: Hi, My “research” was looking at many, many offerings on Ebay. I decided the cobalt bottle with the gold decorations was used for several years, but was from the first time Mesmerize was introduced until it seems to have been discontinued. Re: the modern version, I checked and, sorry, I was wrong that I had it. I have Avon “Dream Life” and then also got it in vintage. The new version of Mesmerize came in clear star-shaped bottle. I can’t date my blue Mesmerize, but Fragrantica says the scent came out in 1992. Have a great holiday! July 3, 2017 at 8:32pm

          • Ann: Thank you Kathy! I have a cylindrical bottle – clear glass with a blue top that it is not the star shape – but not sure which formulation it is – I do like it though. July 6, 2017 at 8:00am

  • kat: I’m wearing Burberry Brit Rhythm for Women today. Finally got hold of a bottle and love it to pieces – thanks for the recommendation. It seems to be on sale in most places I checked (why??? hopefully it’s not getting pulled – I’m already feeling a slightly paranoid urge to restock).
Since Jasmine and I are not the best of friends I’m not participating. July 3, 2017 at 8:59am

  • Katya: Oh, wow, serendipity. I got a sample of this because of a recommendation in the last Recommend me a Perfume thread… and I really like it.

I’m not wearing it today, though. I’m wearing Eau de Protection by Etat Libre d’Orange, which, as I mentioned, smells like Lush’s Rose Jam. All year round. I’m not sure if I like it enough to buy a full bottle of it. The reviews were amazing and I liked the idea behind it. But I keep thinking, I can get this cheaper – it is literally the scent of Aramni Si Rose Edit, or that Lush favourite that only comes out in Christmastime. I sprayed my sample today hoping for a hit of that ginger and pepper others are raving about but instead it’s geranium rose and candy.

And yes, I would be honoured to be emailed if I get picked for this giveaway. Not sure if shipping to the UK would be possible, but if it is… *sighs* that would be amazing! July 3, 2017 at 9:21am

  • rosarita: What a generous, lovely offer, thanks Natalie! Yes, please contact me by email. I’m wearing En Voyage perfumes Go Ask Alice because today the summer air is very thick and humid and GAA has a cool resiny feel that cuts right through the murk. July 3, 2017 at 9:49am

  • Margarita Spasova: What a beautiful fragrance! Joyful will be its new owner. Today I am wearing Eau de Rochas because it’s the first cooler day after a week of Saharan temperatures and I needed to celebrate the breeze. I’ll be happy to be contacted by email… Have a lovely Day, friends! July 3, 2017 at 9:55am

  • Arthur: 1. What perfume are you wearing today and why did you pick it?
Today I am wearing Guerlain’s Habit Rouge because I wanted something spicy, that smells clean and fresh.
    2. May I contact you via email to notify you of your win? Yes. July 3, 2017 at 9:58am

  • Monica: Thank you Natalie and Victoria for the giveaway. Today I am wearing Bobbi Brown Beach. I picked it because in two more hours I will be heading to the pool and I wanted a fragrance with that beachy feeling that I always love and enjoy. Have a wonderful 4th of July! July 3, 2017 at 10:04am

    • Monica: And yes you can contact me via email if I win. Thanks. July 3, 2017 at 10:05am

  • Ellen Cohen: Hi. I do love jasmine and cannot talk the talk ie no perfume lingo…. but I am so trying to find a scent that works on my skin! I used to wear Chloé by Lagerfeld but since it has been discontinued ages ago, I have been looking for another that does not turn on my skin. Now I am wearing Serge Lutens A la nuit that smells lovely but the scent does not last very long. Would love to try anything at this point.. so thanks Natalie for the offer. If anyone has any suggestions…I would be very, very grateful. The old Chloé was really amazing, for me, and I have not found a wonderfully amazing replacement! July 3, 2017 at 10:04am

    • Notturno7: Hi Ellen,
I have a little left of the old Chloe. It’s beautiful. The green note reminds me a bit of Chamade. Especially if you can try the pure perfume. It’s just delicious! Good luck finding another favorite. Victoria has ‘search by the note’ option on this blog and you can see what else has that narcissus note. July 3, 2017 at 11:31pm

      • Ellen: Thank you so much for your tip – will try!!! July 5, 2017 at 10:26am

  • deborah: THANK YOU! would love to receive this!

I am wearing Elie Saab Rose Couture – I opened my cabinet and this jumped out at me. As I am intentionally trusting my intuition, I selected it. This gives me sophisticated confidence on a summer day. July 3, 2017 at 10:09am

  • penny: I do not have a huge selection of perfumes at home I,m still an eager fragrance baby compared to most of you. but I love to sample in shops as I go, trying out what I hope will be my next big love. Today I am trying Eau de Rhubarbe Ecarlate Hermes all I can say so far is it reminds me of the rhubarb and custard sweets I used to eat as a kid.(thats a compliment!) also happy 4th July to you! and yes to contact, good luck everyone July 3, 2017 at 10:09am

  • Eudora: Today I am wearing Lush’ Lust. I have not enough with the jasmin flowers my husband brings to our bedroom every night. Jasmin, jasmin, jasmin.

    Yes, you can contact me.

Thanks and happy holiday! July 3, 2017 at 10:12am

  • Elena Wood: You may email me! I am wearing Annick Goutal Un Matin d’Orage, which feels wonderfully fresh and cooling on this humid summer day. It also lasts extremely well on me while still feeling light, a rare combination. And of course, I first discovered it through this blog! July 3, 2017 at 10:14am

  • Richard Goller: Oooh, very nice! Thank you Natalie and Victoria. I am wearing the new Gucci Guilty Absolute. Partly because I am reviewing it this week. But mostly because it’s such an intriguing and brave new fragrance for Gucci. Not the usual for a designer fragrance. July 3, 2017 at 10:17am

  • Allison: Such a nice offer! Today I’m wearing Sel de Vetiver. It was cool and overcast here in Chicago when I woke up this morning, and for whatever reason I always gravitate to my vetivers in grey weather. Something comforting about them to me, I guess. Feel free to e-mail! July 3, 2017 at 10:28am

  • Miss Kitty: Wearing SL A la Nuit today, left over from yesterday. 🙂 I so over-spritzed that it has lingered into today, and most things are long gone on me by the end of the day. Especially during the summer. Once I shower I think I am going for Nasomato Narcotic Venus or L’Artisan Tubereuse Nuit.

Yes to contact via email! July 3, 2017 at 10:42am

  • Phyllis Ann Iervello: Today I’m wearing The Different Company’s un Parfum des Sens & Bois because it is soft and beautiful and I don’t wear it enough. I have always thought about buying Jasmin et Cigarette but somehow never have. Thanks for the opportunity and you may email me if I would win. July 3, 2017 at 10:43am

  • Sharon: Oh what a lovely offer! Today, I am wearing Hermes Pamplemousse Rose. Just the perfect scent for a warm summer day. Yes, you may contact me. July 3, 2017 at 10:47am

  • Carlisle: What a fantastic and generous giveaway! Yes, you may contact me 🙂 Today I’m wearing Kiehl’s Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit fragrance, a citrus scent that is not masculine, not too sweet, just fizzy, pretty and perfect for summer. July 3, 2017 at 10:49am

  • Gina: I love ELDO’s JeC. I actually wore my Atelier Jasmin Angelique yesterday in the heat. It is another smokey cigarette jasmine. Today, I still am in bed and on my computer. I haven’t sprayed up yet. I will later but will go with what calls me. I may try one of my bazillion samples I haven’t worn yet. Yes, you can email me! July 3, 2017 at 10:55am

  • Aida: Hi lovely Victoria and all the other awesome fragrance lovers,
Today I’m choosing to wear my Chanel Cuir de Russie, in the parfum…even though it’s really hot and dry here in Nevada, it makes me feel very regal and glamorous 👑 ☀️👑
Yes you can contact me by email😊 July 3, 2017 at 10:57am

  • Genevieve: Thank you for the give away! Today I am wearing Fico di Amalfi by Acqua di Parma. A perfect summer scent… And because I will be visiting the Amalfi coast with my Mom in September and already daydreaming about it. Yes you can reach me via email. July 3, 2017 at 11:32am

  • Lynn LaMar: What a lovely offer! I wish to try everything and anything available in the world of perfumery…Today I am wearing Diva by Ungaro. I bought this on a blind buy late last winter and it was absolutely fabulous in the cooler weather. I wondered what to try for the warm weather but, lo and behold, the Diva is amazing even in the heat of NYC!! It comes across differently than it did in cool weather. Much like a smoked citrus now. I can’t believe how much I like it! It’s all about the chemistry, no? Yes, of course, please contact me! July 3, 2017 at 11:48am

    • Notturno7: Thanks for letting us know, Lynn! I got a new bottle few months ago and loved it 💖 but stopped using it thinking it might be too much in the summer.
      I’ll go find it again 😊 July 3, 2017 at 11:43pm

      • Lynn LaMar: Let me know how you like it in the heat N7. I’m not an overly ‘sweaty’ kind of gal but I think lightly perspiring releases something in the formula that the cool weather misses! Sometimes, up on the subway platform, I’ll just step backwards to waft that scent for a personal blast! It’s so intriguing. I’ve also layered it with Chanel Chance for the floral release. Fascinating!! July 4, 2017 at 9:43am

        • Notturno7: Thanks Lynn, I’ll definitely try it. It’s interesting that it brings out different facets in the hot weather.
Diva reminds me a bit of my Coco pure perfume, it surely has a lot of personality.

I love the sillage in Diva as sometime extrait for me, stays so close to the skin.

Layering is fun but I haven’t been ‘brave’ to do it much. Thanks for the encouragement 💕 July 4, 2017 at 4:59pm

  • Mary: Thank you Victoria and Natalie! I have been wanting to try this one for YEARS! I would love to be the lucky one.

You can contact me via email.

Wearing EL Tuberose Gardenia – a great hot weather flower. Never thought I would be this type of perfume wearer, but this one really works for me. July 3, 2017 at 11:51am

    • Kathy: Thanks for the reminder – I agree EL Tuberose Gardenia is a scent that can achieve greatness for the right person. It brings me memories of Southern home gardens and tropical vacations. July 3, 2017 at 8:49pm

    • Notturno7: Good reminder, thanks Mary.
I realized I haven’t used my TG since last summer. I find it lovely in the summer. July 4, 2017 at 5:01pm

  • Marvin: 1. Kemi (Al Kimiya) Jabir. Discovered it while exploring Munich’s perfume stores. Is a heady fragrance with some glorious sillage. Can’t stop sniffing it.
    2. Yes, of course July 3, 2017 at 11:51am

  • Carla: I love this scent. Thank you! You may email me. I am wearing Bois de Violette because Lutens is all I need lately but am mostly enjoying the scent of L’Eau Parfumée des Familles – thanks to Victoria for the review – as it lingers in my children’s hair after I dabbed it on them after baths last night. July 3, 2017 at 11:52am

  • Audrey Esko: Thank you for the chance for a new fragrance Natalie! I would be honored if you emailed me!

I am wearing Tauer Rose d’Kandahar. I think it has some tobacco in it. Love his scents. July 3, 2017 at 12:09pm

  • Rina: What a lovely ROAK! Thank you both!
    1. POAL body oil as a perfume
    2. Of course! July 3, 2017 at 12:18pm

  • OnWingsofSaffron: To Natalie un grand merci for her generosity!
I’d love to try this perfume as I have read quite about it–so yes, by all means, I’d be thrilled to be contacted.
I am wearing vintage “Nuit de Noël” by Caron (dabs of edc, edt & extrait), as in my opinion it is fully unisex and it was the first day of a new job. July 3, 2017 at 12:29pm

  • monsieur: I’m wear Copal Azure by Aedes de Venustas today. It is so cool for hot days altough it has a lot of incense note.

and of course, yes! July 3, 2017 at 12:32pm

  • AfonsoC: I would love to be entered! Thank you so much for the opportunity and your generosity, and good luck everyone!

    1. Today I picked Beyond Paradise by Estée Lauder. It is actually one of my favorite florals of all time since I find it incredibly complex and has a very wet and creamy quality that makes it very unique. However I don’t think it was the best choice because it is warmer than I thought outside and I would rather have picked something a tad lighter. I’ve returned home, thankfully though.
    2. Of course you can! July 3, 2017 at 12:42pm

  • Ellen M.: Today I am wearing Cartier Baiser Vole which smells beautifully of lilies which I love. You may certainly contact me by email. Thanks to Natalie for this generous giveaway. July 3, 2017 at 12:50pm

  • Kirstyn: Ooh, how lovely.
    1. Today I am wearing Coty Vanilla Musk, which actually really reminds me of Vanille Insensee. I just wanted to have a sweet smelling cloud around me while I sit at home after being gone for the weekend.
    2. Using my email is fine. July 3, 2017 at 1:01pm

  • Patricia R.: 1. I was wearing DKNY Be Delicious, because it was my latest acquisition in the collection, and because I needed something fresh for a hot day at work.

    2. Yes, you can contact me via email. July 3, 2017 at 1:41pm

  • Kathy: Thanks for the draw, Natalie and Victoria – so fun!
Today I am wearing Escada Ibiza Hippie, having recently found a bottle of this seeming cult favorite at a modest price. I don’t know what I think of it yet, but I don’t feel like scrubbing. I love and wear Estee Lauder’s powerhouses, so I am intrigued with the forthright name of JeC. A co-worker wears Azuree and smokes, and I become conflicted between the pleasing smell of the perfume and lingering smoke, and the feelings of worry for her lungs!
Please enter me in the kind offer. I love to read everyone’s comments, too. July 3, 2017 at 1:46pm

    • Kathy: P. S. Forgot the formal yes you can contact me by email. July 3, 2017 at 2:59pm

  • Shannon: Wonderful giveaway! My 14yo son is my perfumista protégé, and we’re both wearing the simple but heady Lush Lust today. It blooms even more in our Florida heat, and the kitties seem fascinated by it. Recently we came across a few Etat Libre D’Orange selections at a local Sephora and we really like the line. Scored a decant of Fat Electrician because we love vetiver, too! Of course you may contact us by email…Thank you 🙂 July 3, 2017 at 2:18pm

  • Theresa: Thank you so much for the exciting giveaway offer!

Yes, you may contact me by email.
Today i’m wearing Lauder’s Private Collection. It is a cooler day, so it works well for the weather. Also, being the day before a holiday, most of my office mates are out, and we are NOT supposed to wear perfume at work, so I’m sneaking a stronger fragrance than I normally wear! July 3, 2017 at 2:20pm

  • Joana Prata Codices: 1- Im wearing Karma (Lush) because Im at a hippyish festival by a lake called Being Gathering, so the patchouli note seemed apropriate 😊
Also the tangerine helps to keep the mosquitos away.
    2- Sure!
Thanks and congratulations to the do of onde of my favourite scent ever 😉 July 3, 2017 at 2:45pm

  • Kate: Good luck everyone 🙂

    1. I’m wearing Ninfeo Mio today. It’s heating up again here in the UK and NM is such a lovely fresh summer scent.

    2. Of course! July 3, 2017 at 2:55pm

  • Maggiecat: What a generous thing to do! I’m wearing Tocca Colette today as I find it soothing, yet still interesting, and I have a Bible Study to attend tonight. I like to smell nice but would prefer not to provoke sneezing fits! Um, you may recognise the voice of experience there…
And yes of course you my contact me via my email. July 3, 2017 at 2:58pm

  • Neva: Most of this week I will be travelling for my business and spend the nights in different hotels. Therefore I decided to take along a few samples. My today’s choice was Apsu from Ulrich Lang, because it’s a lovely green scent and I needed freshness in the heat.
Thanks for the great giveaway and of course you can contact me by email. July 3, 2017 at 3:18pm

  • Deborah: The fragrance for today (and the last couple of days) is Bulgari au thé vert. It’s one of my favorite hot weather scents.

The giveaway sounds wonderful, and of course you may contact me by e-mail. July 3, 2017 at 3:23pm

  • Kelly C: My fragrance today is Blackberry and Bay by Jo Malone. I picked it because a generous perfumista sent me various JM samples and I’ve delved into them. I am really enjoying this one. You may email me. July 3, 2017 at 3:30pm

  • Wendy E: Today I am wearing the tiniest drop of original Jasmine from Chantecaille….we just drove from Vermont to Rapid City South Dakota, with a 24 ft truck and we are unloading our world into the new place….and it’s HOT….anything more would be too much!

of course you may email me.

Thank you in advance! July 3, 2017 at 3:45pm

  • Celeste Church: What a lovely and generous giveaway! If I win please do email me. Today I am wearing Dior Addict, because I needed a comfort scent. I know most people think of Addict as a sexy scent, but to me it is the olfactory equivalent of hugs, a cashmere throw and a big mug of Chai tea with cream. It is round, golden and buttery and today I need that delicious softness to wrap around me and make me feel like everything will be okay. That’s a lot to ask of a perfume, but Dior delivers. July 3, 2017 at 3:48pm

    • Notturno7: Hi Celeste, hope everything is ok for you and that day went well.
Yes, it’s amazing how these perfumes can change the day for the better.

I love to wear some ‘tough’ perfumes, the ones that make me feel strong when I have an extra long work day and need to feel like
‘I can do this, I’ll push and be done with work by 10pm, and then I feel like a super woman, 😉 at least for a day’.

And it works!! July 4, 2017 at 5:25pm

      • Celeste Church: Perfume is amazing in its ability to reshape our moods, isn’t it? My “tough girl/I can do this!” perfume is Chanel Cuir de Russie….it has the added advantage of magically making me feel tall! 🙂
Have a great and fragrant day! July 4, 2017 at 6:40pm

        • Notturno7: I love that, Celeste!
Thanks for sharing. I love Cuir de Russie, too. I ended up getting the extrait and EDT after reading about it in the Perfumes, the Guide.
I use First, Knowing, Diva, White Linen or some more ‘powerful’ Chanel’s when I feel that extra boost is needed. I’m sure I’m forgetting some.
Now, I’ll try Cuir de Russie. I hope it makes me feel taller, too. 😊 July 6, 2017 at 5:06am

  • Jennifer: Thanks for the offer and the chance Natalie!

Today I am wearing Pacifica’s Tahitian Garden because my co-worker of the day has a sensitive nose and I am responding in kind. This is very light and pretty and sits close to the skin. I enjoy the hints of musk and tea leaves in the dry down.

    e-mail of course! July 3, 2017 at 5:44pm

  • Monika: I am wearing Atelier Bois Blonds today – it feels wonderfully fresh and I love that it reminds me of sharp-scented pencil shavings. Just the thing for a hot and humid summer day at work.

Yes, you may contact me through e-mail. July 3, 2017 at 6:10pm

  • Alessandra: How amazing and extremely generous.

    1. I am wearing Baccarat Rouge because its smoky saffron note is so pleasantly warm yet radiant on balmy nights.. it’s an excellent elgant perfume for a night out, even though I just ventured to buy pizza for myself, hahah

    2. ys indeed, I can be notified via email 🙂 July 3, 2017 at 6:42pm

  • Nina Leto Mayleas: Amourage Opus V is on tap today. It’s been so hideously humid and horribly hot in NYC. Vent Vert by Balmain is the instinctive summer relief. But the animalistic civet note brings me to a rain forest, which may as well be my home, sweat, perspiration, glow pouring out of me. Fragrance transports to the past, future and beyond. Generosity thy name is Natalie,
Victoria the herald. Would love to win, email natch! Thanks, happy 4th! July 3, 2017 at 6:43pm

  • Al: Hello everyone,

I am wearing Eau Des Merveilles by Hermes today, because I just needed a little something to uplift my mood, while I read and study at the comfort of my room. 🙂 I find that some perfumes like Merveilles just have the magic to make everything a little better. <3

And yes, you absolutely can contact me via Email if I happen to be so lucky.

    xo, Al. July 3, 2017 at 7:38pm

  • Rebecca: Brava, Natalie! I will follow your example if I grow tired of a scent.

Today I’m testing out Adam Levine for Her, because I had a sudden urge to bargain hunt and picked it up at my local Ross. Summer heat calls out for some cheapies. I recently realized I enjoy sandalwood scents. Anyway, it’s not a scrubber, but I can’t tell if it’s a keeper either, because I also sprayed a new sea salt spray on my hair that has an icky, overdone tanning lotion smell.

I’d love to win the Jasmin et Cigarette. I just took my sample with me while vacationing in Lisbon and it was perfect—louche and breezy like that city.

Please do contact me by email, Victoria. Thanks for running the giveaway. July 3, 2017 at 8:47pm

  • Ruggles: Thank you for the generous gesture, please add me to the lottery list and, yes, you can contact me by email. I’m wearing Atelier Cologne’s Orange Sanguine today, celebrating July 4th in south Florida. (I’ll probably wear Hermes’ Caleche on the 14th to celebrate Bastille Day unless it’s raining on that day. It’s kind of a tradition.)

P.S. I love the scent sampler packages from Sephora. This one included 8 2-ml. samples from Atelier Cologne’s summer offerings for $18.00. Not quite free, but close enough and the packaging is charming! July 3, 2017 at 9:16pm

  • Emma: Today I’m wearing Chanel – Coromandel because I love it! I definitely did not want to go into work today, but smelling delightful eased my early morning pain 😀 Yes to email! July 3, 2017 at 9:17pm

  • Sarah: Natalie, what a kind and generous offer!
Today’s scent is Yardley English Rose. I was astounded to come across this at a traditional drug store in Carmel by the Sea, California. They carried several “old school” lines, one being Yardley. We hardly ever see Yardley here in the USA. I was hoping for Oh! de London, but alas, none to be found. The English Rose is simply lovely, very feminine. Happy 4th fellow Americans!
Victoria, please, contact me via email should I be the fortunate winner of the draw! July 3, 2017 at 10:05pm

  • kate: 1. i didn’t wear any today because my allergies were acting up, but yesterday i wore fracas. it was a warm (but not hot) balmy day and i went on a picnic. i love picnics and sitting on the grass smelling all the greenery and flowers, so that’s why i picked it. in a fantasy picnic i’d be surrounded by gardenia and jasmine.

    2. yes July 3, 2017 at 10:07pm

  • Cecilia: What a wonderful giveaway! Feel free to contact me at my email address. I am wearing Sung by Alfred Sung. Sometimes you just need a big floral. It worked! (smile) July 3, 2017 at 10:16pm

  • Janet Hayward: Today I’m wearing Ma Griffe by Carven because it was one of the first perfumes I purchased when I could afford luxury perfumes. I love its complexity and it so reminds me of my younger days. July 3, 2017 at 11:10pm

  • Marjorie Young: Today I’m wearing Chanel No. 5. This was my first grown up perfume. I received a bottle of the perfume from a dear family friend on my graduating from high school. It always makes me feel good from happy memories. Like the words from a song in Kiss Me Kate: I’m always true to you in my way. July 3, 2017 at 11:41pm

  • Saadet Isildar: Hi, what a generous giveaway, thank you..
I’m wearing Aqua Allegoria Mandarin Basilic today because it cheers me up and it was a crappy day for me 😤 Anyway, you can contact me via email if I win..
    Thanks a bunch again! July 3, 2017 at 11:54pm

  • Charlene Rollins: Etat Libre giveaway:
Mais oui, merci! j’aimerais bien connaître ce parfum avec son nom si appéttisant.
I’m new to perfumes, and trying out some random samples; today, because it’s SO hot and there are too many mosquitos, it’s Musc (mosq) Ravageur…

I don’t usually wear it during the day, but I have just moved house and my entire perfume collection is still packed away in a box. luckily Jovan was left out so I didn’t have to be scent-less today! would love to win this giveaway, feel free to email me if im lucky. happy 4th of july! July 4, 2017 at 1:19am

  • Karima: 1. Wearing vintage Vol de Nuit found for a couple of euros at a fleamarket (yay!). Why? Because it is super hot outside and about 15 degrees cooler in the office, and none of my other perfumes would do…

    2. Indeed you may contact me 🙂

Thanks for this interesting giveaway and happy 4th of July! July 4, 2017 at 2:54am

  • john: 1. Like one of the readers above, I have been wearing Habit rouge all week, which I agree has a certain rosy coolness (should be saving it for fall, but it just came in the mail and is so interesting…) Today, however, I am wearing Eau Sauvage because I missed the jasmine (a star player in another favourite of mine, Caron’s Third Man.) I’d love to try this ELDO fragrance, and thank you for the offer.
    2. Yes, email is fine. July 4, 2017 at 3:06am

  • Notturno7: Thank you, Natalie! How generous of you.
Funny, because a day ago I went to a Thai restaurant and there was this incredible jasmin right by the entrance door. I was so taken by the scent that the owner ended up telling me to take a branch of it home ( which I did) and that I can try to plant it. She mentioned some ‘Root Something’ liquid that I can buy to help it grow roots.
I was thinking how I love jasmine and have only one jasmine scent, Sarrasins.
Today I wore No 19, because I love it in the hot weather, and then later a sample of Patou Mille that I got in Nordstrom today. I read about it on this blog and they made me two samples 😊, the SA was super friendly. I just put a little more on now before going to sleep, for sweet dreams. I love the dry down, it’s so different then the top notes.

Thank you Victoria, for giving us this opportunity. I’d be delighted to be contacted. This blog is so much fun!! July 4, 2017 at 4:32am

  • Karina: What a lovely giveaway, thank you so much, Natalie.
    1. I am wearing Misia by Chanel today. No particular reason, to be honest.
    2. Sure you can contact me, I’d be happy to hear from you)) July 4, 2017 at 4:55am

  • Alouetta: I’m wearing another Etat Libre scent, Fils de Dieu. I picked it out because it lifts my spirits and I thought it might be a nice counter-point to the winter cold, being in the southern hemisphere as I am. Yes to email and thanks for the generous offer! July 4, 2017 at 5:45am

  • Edd: Thank you Natalie for such a generous offer! And thank you Victoria for hosting and for this blog in general; I continue to learn so much here.

Today I’m wearing Miyako by Auphorie. Although in this warm weather one doesn’t normally reach for such dense fragrances, it’s the temperament rather than weight that’s dictating my choice. There’s something about the leather-sandalwood in this perfume’s mid-late game whose calfskin texture I find calming, contemplative and comforting – just what I need to keep me grounded in the hectic few days ahead.

I’d be thrilled to be contacted by email. July 4, 2017 at 6:20am

  • ClareObscure: Hi Victoria & readers. Thanks for all your fascinating entries. I’ve loved reading them. Especially intrigued by Notturno7, LynnLaMar & Genevieve’s replies.
I, too, am wearing Acqua di Parma today in the guise of Colonia Intensa. It’s a hot day in the UK & it was a ‘neck & neck’ choice beside Nicolai’s New York Intense, a new favourite. Both bought at the New London Pharmacy on a recent short visit to Manhattan, NYC. Wow, this makes my life sound so exciting…Thanks to Victoria & Co for leading me to the NL Pharmacy.
Please enter me in the draw for Natalie’s offering. I like the sound of it because I love jasmine & tobacco notes.
Yes, I would love to get your e-mail, should I be so lucky. July 4, 2017 at 7:10am

  • kimberly wise: Good Morning and Happy 4th of July of ALL! I am longingly staring at my bottle of Chergui by Serge Lutens, debating on whether to wear that or Shi-So by Nomenclature. I’ve decided to wear Shi-So, the spearmint and light florals are the perfect compliment for the day! I would LOVE to get Natalie’s bottle! : ) July 4, 2017 at 10:16am

  • Anita D: Thank you for your giveaway! I’m wearing Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir, because it’s refreshing but sweet. I’m craving desserts today lol.
Ok to be contacted. July 4, 2017 at 10:29am

  • mercurious: hm. always a little conflicted when there’s a giveaway of a perfume i like and care about. that is, i’m always sorrier to hear it does not work for someone than i’m happier about the ‘opportunity’…anyway.
    1. today i am wearing a modest little thing, the discontinued my queen (alexander mcqueen). i realised i had not worn it in over a year and it may easily appear i’ve become a snob…
    2. yes, please, you sure may contact me via email. July 4, 2017 at 10:37am

    1. I am wearing Annick goutal petite Cherie today, it is a nice crisp sunny day here in Canada. I picked it as it a fruity innocent scent close to the skin, perfect for the weather today, feels like biting into a ripe peach. I will make sure to pick up some peaches after work.

    2. I would love to be contacted via email. I love anything with jasmine in it! July 4, 2017 at 11:08am

  • Joan: I am so appreciative of this most generous offer. At the moment, I am wearing different combinations of essential oils. I like to blend rosa damascena with other oils and mix with a carrier oil.

I definitely would love to have a special summer scent to uplift my spirits and celebrate the season.

Please let me know if I am the happy and lucky winner.

Bye for now. July 4, 2017 at 5:20pm

  • Stacey: Today I chose L’Artisan Premier Figuer Extreme for a couple reasons. I took a sample of it on a week long trip but didn’t wear it, so it felt like the right time. And it paired well with today’s warm, breezy weather.
You may contact me by email if I win! July 4, 2017 at 10:32pm

  • AB: I left the house without putting on perfume, but found a sample of Angel Muse in my bag and spritzed away! Yes, please feel free to email me. July 5, 2017 at 8:59am

  • spe: Yesterday Caleche because it has a nice crisp edge to it. I may prefer it to No. 5. It’s classic and everytime I wear it, it feels perfect. No. 5 lately feels too sweet for me.
Today is Knot Eau Florale. It’s a fresh floral that is optimistic yet mature and it lasts all day. I’m away for a few days and it’s the only scent I brought with me. It’s a little generic, but the absence of any strong vanilla, patchouli, or amber makes it highly adaptable to moods and situations.
Thank you for the lovely offer. I have many scents to choose from and would prefer someone else have the opportunity to win. July 5, 2017 at 12:06pm

  • Maya: Wow, thank you for the chance to win. Today I’m wearing one of my favorite perfumes for summer: L’Artisan Perfumer’s The Pour Un Ete for the perfect combination of jasmine, citrus, and tea for a hot summer day. It is the epitome of an evanescent perfume but I douse myself generously.
You may contact me. July 5, 2017 at 4:54pm

  • Amy Lazarides: I started the day wearing Serge Lutens’ Fleurs d’oranger; however, after stopping into Twisted Lily (amazing scent shop in Brooklyn) this afternoon, I ended up trying Gallivant’s Tel Aviv on my left arm and MFK’s Aqua Celestia on my right.

This giveaway scent sounds intriguing! Please feel free to contact me via email. I live in NYC so no shipping problems for me! July 5, 2017 at 5:12pm

Today I’m wearing Jil Sander #4 (a lush tuberose with a deeply hudden plum bc its a rarity in my parts and I was craving my beloved Shiseido Feminité du Bois, which was my first ‘mature’ perfume buy in high school. Also, bc i went on a vintage perfume hunt today at a couple of local second-hand stores hoping to find a gem but was told they don’t carry perfumes b/c they’re not popular….(the only thing they had was a set of 3 Versace sample vials for $12.99…..absurd! Thank you for the opportunity, smokey scents like SL FeA are some of my favourites. July 5, 2017 at 9:36pm

  • Emm: The merest whiff of D & G Light Blue, because it’s blazing, sticky hot here right now and in about 90 minutes I’ll go into a blazing, sticky hot yoga class. Hopefully the other yogis won’t notice, or at least won’t mind!

Today I’m wearing At The Beach 1966 by CB I Hate Perfume because it stays close to me and transports me to a happy place. On this hot humid day, I wish I were on the beach playing in the waves with the smell of Coppertone sunblock and gritty sand wafting through my marine-soaked hair.
