Chanel No 19, No 19 Poudre and Prada Infusion d’Iris Giveaway

Today we have another great giveaway from a reader who would rather find a new home for her perfume than to keep them unworn and unloved in a cupboard. Maria would like to give away three bottles: a 50ml bottle of Chanel 19 EDT, a 100ml bottle of Chanel 19 Poudré and a 100ml bottle of Prada Infusion d’Iris EDP. She will send it all to one person. As she says, “They are all almost full. I used to like them a lot, but I’m pregnant and I can’t stand them anymore. I know from experience (this is not my first pregnancy), that I won’t be able to stand them during breastfeeding and that I would prefer to use colognes and light sprays during this long period of time. So I prefer to give them to a happy new home between your lovely community  of readers :-). I live in Canada, and I could send the bottles almost everywhere, depending on international restrictions.”

In order to enter the giveaway, please answer the following questions for Maria:

  1. “Can you please give suggestions about colognes, natural sprays or eaux fraîches? Until now, the only ones I’ve found beautiful during pregnancy were Guerlain Eau de Cologne du Coq, Sisley Eau de Campagne (before reformulation), and Monsillage Eau de Céleri. I can’t stand sweet and gourmand smells, neither white musks (I think that’s the problem with Chanel 19 Poudré for me now), but I think green and aromatic scents would be good.”
  2. What perfumes make you feel confident, serene, calm and peaceful? This would be useful for a new mom!
  3. If you’re a winner, can I contact you by email and share your email address with Maria?

As always, we are not responsible for customs fees or lost or damaged packages.

The winner is Jaime. Congratulations! I will contact you shortly.

  • Sandra: Hello Maria, I am a mom of 2, both toddlers and 13.5 months a part, so I can help you with # 2!

    1. Have you tried some Annick Goutals? Ninfeo Mio or Eau de Camille?

    2. I know this sound cliche, but Petit Guerlain smells really lovely after you have a child. Natural Lavender & Rose Sprays. After I had my last, a perfume a detested Songes I fell back i love with and now its on heavy rotation. It made me feel sexy and confident, and its easy soft enough to have little ones cuddle up with you. Being peaceful is really a state of mind, and more about creating a loving, peaceful environment so that you baby can grow into an authentic adaptable adult. So maybe instead of perfume, some candles or incense. Get ready to support your child through all the joys and suffering of life, giving and generosity (which you are already doing by this giveaway) and giving them a safe refuge at home.

    3. I am USA and you can contact me by email October 4, 2017 at 7:19am

  • clareobscure: Hi Maria. This is a wonderfully generous offer. I read what you wrote about being pregnant & the anticipation of the joyous period of breastfeeding after your baby arrives. I noticed you are already a mother, so know what to expect. Congratulations on your happy news. My sons are grown up now, but I do remember how all the senses are altered in pregnancy & how your own body is your best director in every choice, be it food or fragrance.
    1. You seem to be a sophisticated lady so I hope these suggestions are worthy of consideration:
    Annick Goutal, Eau de Hadrian
Clarins, Eau Dynamisante (original red bottle)
L’Occitane. Verbena or other seasonal cologne
    2. What makes me feel confident, serene, calm & peaceful…
    Lancome, Miracle
    Nicolai, N.Y. Intense
Serge Lutens, Eau de Serge Lutens
    3. Yes to an e-mail, if I should be so lucky. I live in the U.K. so duty on perfume may be prohibitive.
All the best for a happy healthy pregancy, Maria. October 4, 2017 at 8:26am

  • Sofia: Hi Victoria and Maria!

Firstly to Maria, congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope you are doing well. I am currently 25 weeks pregnant with my first child (and over the moon). My only smell aversions are sweet vanilla scents that I can suddenly detect a mile away and strongly dislike right now. Coincidentally my favourite scents are in the iris family, and Chanel No 19 Poudré is one of my absolute favourites.

Here goes my answers to the questions:

    1. My suggestions to try would be:
    – Hermes Eau d`Orange Verte: I find it fresh and orangey but in a green and woody way.
    – Christian Dior Escale a Portofino: one of my favourite colognes. I believe it includes musk within its notes but I don’t detect it on my skin.
    – Atelier Cologne Bergamot Soleil: another fresh scent I like.

    2. Lately a perfume that makes me feel confident, serene, calm and peaceful is Bulgari Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert. I find it is so elegant and beautiful while giving confidence at the same time.

    3. Of course you can contact me via email and share it with Maria.

    Have a beautiful day! October 4, 2017 at 8:27am

    • Rebecca: Escale a Portofino is my favorite cologne! Citrusy and fresh but not sharp. I have to keep buying it because the men in my family keep taking my bottle. And it is surprisingly durable for a cologne. October 4, 2017 at 10:16am

      • Sofia: Hide it from them, lol! Yes it is durable for a cologne! I also love Escale a Pondichery, though in a personal way because it reminds me of drinking steaming tea in Asia with my mother and her friends. Escale a Portofino is more classic and elegant. October 4, 2017 at 10:26am

    • Lindaloo: Another vote for Escale a Portofino. Some who are fans of crisper citrus, woody scents may find it a bit sweet. October 4, 2017 at 12:41pm

  • Gabriela: Hi Maria!
Congratulations on your pregnancy and thank you for a wonderful giveaway.

When I was pregnant I could not use perfume either, that lasted 5 years… also I wast able to read, something I love. I just couldn’t concentrate.

    1. My only suggestion as I couldn’t tolerate any perfume either would be the Bvlgari cologne, Petits et Mamas. Its alcohol free and the notes are citrus and floral. Both you and the children can use it.

    2. I also agree with Sandra, been peaceful is a state of mind but sometimes its difficult with children… so what helps me keep peaceful is the smell of lavender oil before I go to sleep. Music is also a must and walking…

    3. Of course you can contact me! I live in Spain. Thank you Maria and Victoria. October 4, 2017 at 8:42am

  • Laura: Hi Maria. I wish you the best with your new little one.

    1. Ineke has a fragrance called Balmy Days and Sundays which is soft, grassy green, and relaxing. Certainly worth a try.

    2. My go-to Zen fragrances are Guerlain’s Insolence EDP, CB I Hate Perfume’s Ginger Accord and Fredric Malle’s L’eau d’Hiver. Add a cup of tea, a cozy jumper, and voilà.

    3. Yes, you can contact me by email. October 4, 2017 at 8:56am

  • Ekaterina: 1. I’m actually not a fan of green scents or colognes 🙂 and that’s why I love Chanel No 19 Poudre and want to enter the giveway!
Among fresh/green scents I would name Cartier de Lune by Cartier with very nice citrus-watery-juniper accord.
    2. From maternity point of view, I always loved to wear Repetto EDT when having a stroll with a daughter, but I think it’s not about confidence.
Scents that make me feel sure are Chanel Chance EDP, Moschino Cheap & Chic, Sisley Soir d’Orient.
Peaceful: Guerlain Cruel Gardenia, Lalique Encre Noir, Chanel Gardenia
    3. Sure, but I live in Russia, perhaps it would be a problem, but if not, let me know AND THANK YOU! October 4, 2017 at 9:06am

  • Maya: Congratulations Maria – what a joyous and miraculous time it is to be pregnant (not withstanding the back ache, fatigue, nausea, and heartburn😁).
I had to take an extended hiatus from body products and perfume during pregnancy and breastfeeding since the mere thought made me feel sick. But it was wonderful to get back to once that period past.
    1. Based on your preference, I would suggest the following: Jo Malone Wild Strawberry and Parsley- green and unobtrusive; Jo Malone Orange Blossom; Diptyque Geranium Odorata- crushed geranium leaf. I would also suggest to spray lower on your body than normally, so you are not constantly contending with the scent but still get occasional whiffs of it.
    2. Chanel Cristalle edt makes me feel confident and quietly elegant. You may enjoy it actually given its verdant nature.
    3. Please enter me if possible just for the Chanel 19 Poudre bottle.
Enjoy a happy, peaceful, and healthy pregnancy, October 4, 2017 at 9:31am

  • CristinaM: Thank you and congratulations, Maria!

    1. Eau Sauvage. Masculine but clean and gentle.

    2. Apres l’Ondee and Borneo 1834 make me feel confident and strong.

    3. Yes you may share my email and address!
I live in Europe, but have a mailing address in the US in useful. October 4, 2017 at 9:45am

  • Neva: Hi Maria and congratulations. I hope you will enjoy your pregnancy as much as possible. I remember wearing Givenchy Ysatis during my pregnancy and I still feel sick when I smell it somewhere…I’ll try to help with my suggestions and thank you very much for your generosity.
    1. I can really recommend my favourite green scent which is dry and herbal – Parfums de Nicolai Weekend. It is not too intense and I think this would be advantageous. I think some of the Atelier Colognes would also work well.
    2. Speaking of calming perfumes, I would suggest woody scents like SL Feminite du Bois or Biehl Parfumkunstwerke MB02.
    3. I live in Europe and I can be contacted by email, of course. October 4, 2017 at 10:03am

  • Ann: Hello Victoria & Maria! Congratulations to you Maria, hope you are felling well & what a generous giveaway, thanks.

Maybe a traditional orange cologne that could work well with the baby products you might use when baby arrives. Fleur du Male by Jean Paul Gauliter. Or Musti Eau du Soin, which goes nicely with the Mustela bath products.

    a. To feel serene, calm and peaceful: I like incense scents (say that 10 times fast). SJP Stash, SSS Incense Pure, or EO with frankincense, etc.

    b. To feel confident:
I think the most confident I felt wearing perfume was when I have tested FM Carnal Flower. It’s just so beautiful. But, perfume aside, nothing makes me feel more confident than a shower, being fully dressed and makeup.

Certainly feel free to share my email if I am the winner, thanks. October 4, 2017 at 10:11am

  • Julie: Maria, I’m just thrilled for you. Pregnancy was one of my most happiest times looking back.

I agree with Maya about some of the Jo Malone fragrances. Some wonderful inspirations there!
As far as myself, right now my go to for feeling self assured and peace filled is Aya Blue.
And I’m happy to share my email.

I wish you all the best! October 4, 2017 at 10:15am

  • key change: Congratulations on the pregnancy, Maria! I’m actually just returning to work from mat leave myself (first pregnancy here), so I can relate very much to almost needing to take a break from all things heavily scented during pregnancy and the pp period (thank heavens for a year-long mat leave, eh?)–so much of my collection sat unloved during that time. For a fresh, light cologne scent, I have a few suggestions. Guerlain’s acqua Aligoria line has one called herba fresca that’s invigorating, green, and fresh, but it’s also light and diffusive, which is lovely. Also, many of the Jo Molone colognes are also light but filled with confidence–I am thinking of basil and neroli in particular. Thank you very very much for the give-away opportunity! and of course, you and/or Victoria are welcome to contact me anytime. Best of luck with this pregnancy. October 4, 2017 at 10:16am

  • Allison C.: What a lovely offer!

I highly recommend Eau de Courreges and Hermes Eau de Narcisse Bleu.

I wear Etro’s Vicolo Fiori or Frederic Malle’s L’eau d’Hiver when I need to feel peaceful and confident.

And please feel free to email me! October 4, 2017 at 10:23am

  • BONNIE S.: Mazel Tov, Maria, and congratulations on your new baby!

    1) For natural sprays, I very much like the trio of scents from Clarins – available at every Shoppers Drug Mart. My favourite is the blue bottle, EAU RESSOURCANTE – it promises Serenite, Fraicheur and Equilibre on the bottle and it delivers. The orange bottle, EAU ENSOLEILLANTE, is a great pick-me-up and the original red bottle, EAU DYNAMISANTE, is a perpetual go-to for me when I need a treatment fragrance, not just a pretty fragrance.

If sprays are a problem, you may enjoy the wide variety of Pacifica body butters and solid perfumes. They are so lovely – it’s hard to pick my favourite but Lotus Garden is beautifully refreshing and light. Spanish amber is beautiful too, and Island Vanilla.

    2) Confident, Serene and Peaceful: Poeme by Lancôme, which sadly didn’t get a good review on this blog but which I love dearly. It’s bottled serenity, and again, available at most Shoppers Drug Marts. Sarah Jessica Parker’s Lovely is a lovely light scent that makes me feel like I own any room I walk into; and Bvlgari’s The Bleu is a breath of fresh air and peacefulness.

You may indeed contact me by email – I live in Toronto and I’d be happy to share my mailing address.

Again, mazel tov and all the best! October 4, 2017 at 10:28am

  • Esra: Happy pregnancy Maria!

Esra: Have you tried Dior Escale a Portofino? And if that doesn’t work, how about mixing & diluting some essential oils, such as Rose, Neroli, Cardamom, Geranium. For confidence try White Fir.
Here’s a link with mixing suggestions:

What perfumes make you feel confident, serene, calm and peaceful? This would be useful for a new mom!
Esra: Hermes Eau des Merveilles makes me feel more confident. So does Elixir des Merveilles.

If you’re a winner, can I contact you by email and share your email address with Maria?
Esra: Yes, thank you. October 4, 2017 at 10:38am

    • Esra: Additionally, for calmness for me, Cardamom oil helps, as well as Rose oil.
Hope this helps! October 4, 2017 at 10:40am

  • Mare: Maria, congratulations to you! What a special time for you.

    1. Maybe try DSH Perfumes Giverny In Bloom. You can order a small sample to see if it works. Its very crisp and green. Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca may work for you also.

    2. Hermes Galop and Annick Goutal Nuit Etoilee are very calming and confident scents for me.

    3. I am fine with being contacted by my email address.

Blessings for you and your family! October 4, 2017 at 10:39am

    • Mare: Also, I live in the USA. October 4, 2017 at 10:41am

  • Jessica: Congratulations on your pregnancy and enjoy introducing a new baby to your family!

    1. I would recommend Tocca Florence- if the eau de parfum is too strong maybe try just the lotion or body wash. This scent always helps me feel feminine and I sometimes needed that during pregnancy, especially the later months.
    2. As a new mom I would try essential oils- particularly lavender- the newborn time can be stressful and lavender always fills me with peace and helps me relax.
    3. Yes, feel free to contact me via email. October 4, 2017 at 10:40am

  • Gail McGregor: Hello Victoria and Maria,
Thank you for this generous giveaway!
My children are teens now, but while I was pregnant I could wear O de Lancôme and Calyx by Prescriptives, which is now sold by Clinique. I recently discovered Philosykos edit and L’Ombre Dans L’Eau both by Diptyque, which are both green, aromatic fragrances.
This summer I also enjoyed Citron de Vigne by Fresh.
Perfumes that make me feel confident, serene, and calm are Bergamot 22 by Le Labo, Eau Premiere by Chanel, and SJP Lovely.
Yes, you can pass on my email address.
    I live in Canada. October 4, 2017 at 11:05am

  • Olivia: Congratulations Maria!
Some light fragrances to consider are Guerlain Lys Soleia, Avon Haiku Reflection, Bvlgari Petits et Mamans, and April Aromatics, a natural line.
Incidentially, I have Infusion D’Iris Absolue as my calming and confidence perfume.
Yes, you may contact me by email.
    Thank you! October 4, 2017 at 11:09am

  • Clair: I love fragrance, but when I need to take a break, or want more subtlety, I often rely more on body lotions and oils for scent, which seem better when one is physically close with babies and children. Korres Santorini Vine Body Milk (try to purchase online from UK or EU -better price, different product) is clean and fresh, neither musky or sweet. Korres Jasmine Body Milk is also nice, more green than sweet, as is Korres Fig. Korres also make body oils, most of which are very lightly scented. Weleda has several lightly scented body lotions (Sea Buckthorn, Citrus, Rose-though it is a very vegetal rose). If you like rose, Andy Tauer’s Rose Delight is a great addition to add to a more neutral lotion (it is intense, so a little goes a long way). There are so many options, too many to list here.
I used to wear Guerlain Eau de Cologne du Coq, and other citrus colognes and I think Frau Tonis (of Germany) has a great selection of fresh colognes, though you can only purchase them online. Is Chanel No. 5 L’Eau too floral for you, and what about Hermes Hiris or Van Cleef and Arpels’ California Reverie or Parfum d’Empire Equistrius? The latter might have too much musk, but despite the notes I’ve always found it very light and it seems child/baby friendly 😉. Congratulations and best wishes!

I can be emailed. I’m in the U.S. Only include me for the Chanel 19 Poudre or Prada Infusion d’Iris. Thanks to you and Victoria both.
Thank you and I wish you well! October 4, 2017 at 11:13am

  • Betsy: 1) Chanel Eau de Cologne and Annick Goutal Eau d’Hadrien are two fragrances that are light, clean and fresh. Sometimes I get headaches and these are a couple that do not offend at all.
    2) One of my favorite “mom” fragrances is Dior Diorissimo. It smells like how I imagine an ultimate mom would smell(which I hope I am:))…I see Doris Day in my mind. I feel great wearing it and it’s one of the only fragrances my husband compliments.
3)Thank you for a wonderful giveaway! My email is above. October 4, 2017 at 11:18am

  • Marina Bacchetti: Dear Maria,

Congratulations on the joy of welcoming your baby soon!

My recommendation for fragrances that are light yet have that je ne sais quoi as per my personal experience are:
Diptyque’s Eau Moheli and Eau de Lavande. I get compliments especially with Eau Moheli.
Santa Maria Della Novella’s Acqua di Colognia, Iris, and Alba de Seoul. The latter has beautiful notes of cypress. I find it subtle and invigorating at the same time.

Given that we all have different body chemistries, I encourage you to explore the other scents offered by these two parfumiers. And also I recommend exploring the Jo Malone offerings which allow for experimentation and wearing two fragrances which compliment each other at one time.

As for your lovely Chanel 19, Chanel 19 Poudre, and Prada’s Iris, I love them all and would give them not only a good home but I would wear them with joy. Chanel 19 has been a long time favorite of mine. I live in San Francisco, CA.

    Best regards and good wishes!

    Marina October 4, 2017 at 11:31am

  • Maria B.: Hello, Maria,

    1. Institut Très Bien makes wonderful colognes. I have Cologne à la Française and wear it when it’s hot or I’m ill. I’ve tried their à l’Italienne and à la Russe, and they are equally good.

    2. Bulgari Pour Femme makes me feel confident, serene, and totally myself. I wear it throughout the year. Its blend of violet and mimosa might not be jarring for you.

    3. Yes, you may contact me via email. And thank you for this giveaway! October 4, 2017 at 11:37am

  • Robyn Bee: Congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope you’re feeling ok and are able to find a good replacement for your perfumes.

    1. I’d recommend one of Hermes’ colognes – Rhubarbe Ecarlate and Pamplemousse Rose are my favorites, both very crisp and refreshing. Or a cologne from Parfums de Nicolai (Cologne Cedrat is wonderfully lemony-spicy and one of my favorites for hot weather. Some of her other light fragrances have musk listed as a note, but the ones I’ve tried (l’Eau d’Ete and l’Eau Mixte) aren’t strongly musky on me, and they’re also very refreshing.

    2. I like smooth, warm leather or suede fragrances to feel confident – Serge Lutens Daim Blonde, Bottegga Venetta, and Hermes Galop are some of my favorites. And I find Cacherel’s Anais Anais l’Original very calming, it’s such a sweet and pretty scent and I have fond memories of my mother wearing it.

    3. Email is fine. October 4, 2017 at 11:40am

  • rosarita: Wow, Maria, thanks for fantastic opportunity, and congratulations on your upcoming addition to your family 🙂
    1. Parfums de Nicolai has some lovely lighter scents: Eau D’Ete Eau Fraiche, Fig Tea, L’Eau Chic. You might also like Imaginary Authors Saint Julep or Soft Lawn, or DSH Celadon.
    2. My most calming scents have incense, the most calming being Serge Lutens Encens et Lavande. Also Commes des Garcons Kyoto, Bond 9 Silver Factory and things that I just plain love, like Shalimar and Coco. I wear them in my cleavage and duck into the restroom and deep breathe under my shirt when I need centering on stressful days, only perfume lovers understand!
    3. Yes, you may use my email. And thanks again! October 4, 2017 at 11:42am

  • Madtowngirl: Maria, thank you for the wonderful giveaway and congratulations!

    1. LeLabo Bergamote 22, one of the longest lasting citruses I’ve tried. Bright and beautiful.
Atelier Bois Blonds, citrus and incense that is a lovely combination. I tried this one based on Victoria’s article: 10 perfect summer colognes.

    2. Sandalwood: Bois des Iles, 10 Corso Como, Tam Dao or Samsara.
Others have mentioned essential oils and Young Living makes one called Gentle Baby that is wonderful in a diffuser.

    3. Yes, you may contact me via email. Thank you! October 4, 2017 at 11:46am

  • Ariadne: Dear Maria,
What a lovely giveaway for an even lovelier occasion!
I couldn’t get enough of sniffing the top of my infant daughter’s head but for new baby mom perfume I might want Bulgari au The Blue, Vert, or Blanc.
Right now Chanel’s Misia and AG’s L’Heure Exquise make me feel blooming with calm and serenity.
If I am the lucky winner, yes please email me.
Happy continued motherhood to you! October 4, 2017 at 11:55am

  • Elizabeth: I have found Molinard’s Eau de Citrus very refreshing, dry and light. Anything strong or sweet in the summer heat makes me feel nauseous so I am finding all these recommendations very helpful. (I am making notes for next summer.
You are most welcome to contact me. I live in Canada. October 4, 2017 at 12:07pm

    • Elizabeth: Edit, (hit send by error)
Serene, well….. Shalimar in all her variations, goes a long way in making me feel calm and in charge at the same time.
Congratulations. An exciting but tiring time for you.
Thank you for offering such a generous give away. October 4, 2017 at 12:14pm

  • Cindy: Maria, what a sweet offer. Thank-you! My husband is very sensitive to strong scents so I generally choose lighter perfumes. For day time wear, I’ve been using Gucci Bamboo which has a nice citrus sparkle. I’ve also enjoyed Michael Kors Sporty Citrus though it doesn’t last long on my skin. And for a lighter version of Chanel, Chanel Mademoiselle brings nice complements. Ralph Lauren Midnight Romance has a nice sweet floral fragrance that is not overpowering.
My “signature” perfume has been Chanel Coco. I always get rave reviews when wearing it which can’t hurt one’s confidence, can it?
Feel free to email me. I’m in the U.S. Merci! October 4, 2017 at 12:07pm

  • Sherry: Thanks for the give away! And congrats on the upcoming baby, I hope you enjoy remainder part of your pregnancy. It happened all 3 perfumes are on my want list.

    1. I would suggest stay away from most fragrances if possible. You never know what kind of chemicals are there and what kind of impact they can have on the baby. This is scientist me speaking from a pharmaceutical background. Personally I understand the need for something soothing especially when you are so irritated by physical uncomfortableness. Try pomelo or orange peels, the giant pomelo from Costco (I am from GTA) in winter times lasted weeks for me. I kept it next to my pillow at night when I was pregnant.

    2. Jo malone orange blossom and altelier orange sangria.

    3. I would love to be contacted if I win the draw. I live in the GTA area.

Thank you for the generous give away! October 4, 2017 at 12:19pm

  • Nancy A.: All the best Maria on becoming a Mother!
Your generous giveaway brings me back to a time when I was a devotee of Jean LaPorte L’Artisan Parfums and was told how our hormones play an important role with scent. With that said, the person who informed me mentioned rose scented fragrances however nothing overwhelming. Consider the lightweight fragrances that are worn by infants. Should my name be selected particular in fragrances that I love, of course email is fine. Thanks! October 4, 2017 at 12:34pm

  • Andrea: Congratulations, Maria! My absolut confident-serene-calm-peaceful-fragrance is Atelier Cologne Oolang Infini. It is so clear, transparent, beautiful. It won me over when I was looking for a dark rose, something completely different, and it came as a surprise. As the name sais, it’s a tea scent with beautiful citrus notes in the top. Victoria reviewed it here.
I adore the no 19’s but I don’t wear them and I don’t like the Prada fragrance so I don’t want to participate in the drawing. October 4, 2017 at 12:54pm

  • Lindaloo: Congratulations Maria! And best wishes for the future. Thankyou for a very generous draw.

    1. Chanel Cristalle, Fresh Hesperidies, try some of the Atelier citruses (Sephora has various sizes and will make samples) Biotherm’s Lait Corporal has been made into a cologne. Of course, there is the body lotion by itself. Jo Malone Grapefruit.

    2. Serene and calm is my definition of Guerlain’s Samsara. it’s uplifting too.

3 Feel free to use my email at any time. October 4, 2017 at 1:25pm

  • Wendy: Congratulations Maria! I think many of us can relate to your plight of falling out of love with many types fragrances during pregnancy and breastfeeding. I did well with citrus fragrances during pregnancy/breastfeeding and resumed my love affair with heavy hitters later in life.

Light, fresh fragrances that worked for me:
    1. Atelier Orange Sanguine
    2. Guerlain pamplelune
    3. Atelier Pomelo
    4. Cinq Mondes Eau du Bresil (perfumer Olivia Giacobetti)
    5. 1873 by Histoiries de Parfums

Confident, fragrances I live to wear:
    1. Ormonde Woman by Ormonde Jayne is really rocking my world lately and is a great everyday wear
    2. Iris by Hilde Soliani is ultra feminine for brunch while wearing a flowy silky blouse
    3. Serge Lutens Jeax de Peau

Blessings to you and thank you for the kind offer. Feel free to email me, and let me know if you want samples of the above 😊Happy to provide regardless of whether or not I’m picked just to create some more good karma! I’m in the USA. Best!- Wendy October 4, 2017 at 1:54pm

    • Wendy: Also, a favorite relaxing scent is Olfactive Studio Lumiere Blanche. October 4, 2017 at 4:43pm

  • KatieAnn: Hello Victoria and Maria. Thank you for this very kind and generous giveaway. And a big congratulations to you, Maria, on expecting another little one.

    1. L’Occitane’s Lemon Verbena is so refreshing and bright.

Hermes Eau de Merveilles (another refreshing and lighter scent).

Eau Illuminee by Parfums DelRae. I haven’t personally tried this, but it seems to fit the bill with it’s notes of bergamot, basil, and lavender and absence of musk.

    2. In regards to a perfume that makes me feel confident, serene, calm and peaceful, I would have to say Penhaligon’s Ostara. That flush of polleny-sweet bouquet of daffodils just fills me with joy. Many thanks to Victoria for leading me to this gorgeous perfume.

    3. Of course you can contact me through e-mail.

Thank you again! October 4, 2017 at 2:09pm

  • Kate: Congratulations to you, Maria, and thank you for the generous offer.

    1. I find Clarins Eau Dynamisante and Eau Ressourcante are both quite good light colognes. They apparently contain a high percentage of natural essences and don’t smell at all ‘artificial’. Eau Ressourcante in particular is light and inoffensive. I’d also recommend Diptyque’s Philosykos and Annick Goutal’s Ninfeo Mio, which are both figgy and slightly astringent, fresh-smelling and not too heavy.

    2. Sandalwood-based scents make me feel serene. High on my list are Chanel’s Bois des Iles and (once you get past the giant jasmine opening) Guerlain’s Samsara, which I like in its pure parfum iteration, because it has a rich, lengthy sandalwood dry down.

    3. By all means contact me by email should I be lucky enough to win! 🙂 October 4, 2017 at 2:16pm

  • Elizabeth M: Thank you for this lovely giveaway, Maria and Victoria! I have been enjoying this blog for years but this is my first time commenting. I have never tried Chanel No. 19 or Chanel 19 Poudre, or Infusion d’Iris but I would be so eager to experience these! I am located in the U.S.

Maria, congrats on the new baby! What a happy reason to decide to switch perfumes! I have a few suggestions in mind for you based on ones I’ve enjoyed that are light and fresh, and with “green” notes rather than musky notes.

    – I love Jo Malone’s Wild Bluebell cologne, incredibly clean and fresh and I didn’t detect any musky note in it. I went through a whole bottle of it embarrassingly quickly.
    – Penhaligon’s Revenge of Lady Blanche – I’ve read that it compares to No. 19 but greener and without the musk element – in my experience it’s a green floral with aldehydes. I didn’t find it soapy, personally, but it was cool and watery on me.
    – Byredo’s Inflorescene – feather light, cool green floral that can lean soapy on some people (in a way that I enjoy and find refreshing).

    2. Lately my favorite comfort fragrance is Mon Guerlain – it smells like a lavender cookie to me in the best way. I’ve also been reaching for D.S. & Durga’s Radio Bombay – the woody notes in it are blissful and make me feel serene and wrapped in a warm cloud of protection.

    3. You can absolutely contact me via email!

    Best, Elizabeth October 4, 2017 at 2:37pm

  • AfonsoC: Maria, congratulations on your pregnancy! I wish you all the best to you and to your little one. And thank you for such an amazing giveaway. I absolutely love all 3 perfumes and curiously have none!

    1. I recommend you two Bvlgari perfumes: Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert, since it is a beautiful, calming violet green tea scent, and also Petits et Mamans because it is light and delightful.
    2. Guerlain’s Samsara makes me feel calm, confident, calm and serene. Despite having a very big sillage and radiance, its deep sandalwood scent never fails to leave me relaxed. It just makes me feel like good. And that’s why it is my signature perfume.
    3. Of course yes!

Good luck everyone! October 4, 2017 at 2:40pm

  • Hayley: I would recommend Annick Goutal mandragore it’s herbal and subtle mint/anise and so refreshing, love it on hot days or after a hot bath. I had a sample of their nuit s d’hadrien too which I remember being herbal garden like too, it was delicious.

I also think l’artisan parfumeurs do some lovely light scents such as rose privee a light herbal rose garden and caligna is a very refreshing aromatic fig. I would also recommend Jo Malone colognes a lot of those are very light refreshing I particularly like orange blossom and blackberry and bay is quite tart.

Hermes Jardin sur le nil makes me feel all these things – super calm and classy!! I think it would be fab for a new mum…again it’s refreshing and green yet has a sereneness.

I hope these are helpful, I’m looking forward to reading all the suggestions as green and aromatic is up my street and I don’t know that many! Yes please contact me by email, fingers crossed! October 4, 2017 at 2:48pm

  • Giovanna: First of all, congratulations and thank you for your generous offer! Chanel 19 was my favourite perfume in my twenties and thirties, and I have been on a quest to finding my “signature” perfume for a couple of years now, finally settling on Infusion d’Iris this summer. It is an understatement to say that I am excited about this drawing…
I understand the importance of choosing a scent that will remind you of this special time of your pregnancy and breastfeeding and possibly the one that your child(ren) will associate you with.
    With that in mind:
    1. Eau d’Issey, Chanel Chance; O de Lancome; Adolfo Dominguez agua fresca de rosas, agua fresca de rosas blancas, agua fresca de azahar (have not tested it but sounds intriguing); Chevrefeuille Yves Rocher; possibly also Yves Saint-Laurent Paris (the original), Tresor de Lancome (the original); maybe also just (highest quality) rose water or orange blossom water.
    2. Definitively “Infusion d’Iris”! Ok, it does not count… what about Aromatrix, Diorissimo or the rose perfume cited under 1: Paris YSL and Tresor or Tresor Nuit (Lancome). Green: Vent Vert, Ma Griffe (Carven)
    3. I live in Switzerland and in the UK; of course, I can be contacted via email by Maria and Victoria. October 4, 2017 at 3:20pm

  • Kat Aarts: I have loved the calm green figgy goodness of l’Artisan – Caligna for a long time now. The top notes are fig, clary sage and pine: this is not a sweet fig, but a soft, green sappy fig that is neither too sharply green nor too creamy. It sits softly in the background of your experience without demanding attention, but is there nonetheless.

I would also recomend Acca Kappa – Tilia Cordata: Top notes of linden blossom, lemon, bergamot and petitgrain, underpinned by cedar. There is a sweetness to this, but it is tempered by the citrus and linden and stays light and green.

Lastly, Annick Goutal – Un Matin d’Orage. I get lemon, green notes and a little gardenia from this, but it stays firmly green and does not become sweet on my skin. A little creamy, but not sweet.

All three are gently green and fresh, slightly creamy in places and not too overpowering for someone suffering from an acute and temperamentally hormonal sense of smell.

—-If you’re a winner, can I contact you by email and share your email address with Maria?—-

Yes, of course! Thanks for the opportunity and good luck on your hunt! October 4, 2017 at 4:41pm

  • Minna: I have no children, but have had severe nausea.

Here are fragrances that I haven’t tried, but that have caught my intrest with this problem of nausea in mind:
    1. MENTHA RELIGIOSA by Dear Rose
    2. MENTHE FRAÎCHE by James Heeley

I have tried these (though not while having nausea), and they seem nice, fresh, or aromatic
    3. BOWHANTI by Body Shop
    4. L’EAU D’ISSEY by Issey Miyake

    L’OCCITANE : Thé vert & bigarade

    QUESTION 3: OH YES, PLEASE!! 🙂 October 4, 2017 at 5:12pm

  • Dana Cowan: Hello, what a wonderful giveaway! Thanks for the generous opportunity. 🙂
    1. Les Creations de Monsieur Dior Diorella is a beautiful green, aromatic perfume. I love it because it makes me feel confident and awake, and the drydown is creamy, woody and vegetal.
Another nice fresh perfume you may want to look into is a tea-based one: Bvlgari Mon Jasmin Noir L’Eau Exquise. I had it and wore it nearly exclusively for a summer, and then gave it to my sister in law for her wedding. It is lovely. If you enjoy orange blossom, some freshies you might like are Tom Ford Neroli Portofino or the much more affordable Maurer and Wirtz 4711 Original Eau de Cologne.
    2. A comforting, calming and uplifting perfume in this category that you might be interested in is Cerruti 1881. It is herbal, very lightly floral with a prominent chamomile note. It gives the feeling of “after-the-bath” clean. It is wonderful. Other perfumes that make me feel confident, calm, serene and peaceful are Bvlgari Amethyste and Elie Saab L’Eau Couture.
    3. Yes, you may share my information. 🙂
Thanks again for this chance to win some beautiful perfumes! October 4, 2017 at 5:28pm

  • Maria-Anna: Congratulations, Maria, and what a wonderful giveaway! I hope you get plenty of inspiration from this thread to perfume your new adventure!

    1. I don’t wear a huge deal of colognes, but I rather liked Atelier Cologne Mandarine Glaciale. It was bight, zingy and fairly fleeting on me, without the musky base of Orange Sanguine. I always found it improved my mood and gave a lightness to my step. My other thought was Caligna – it has got sunny herbs, but softened with the fig, which I find more of a thought than photographic impression.

    2. My first go-to for confidence is Rossy de Palma/Eau de Protection from Etat Libre d’Orange. A really bright, clear rose on me, glass-crisp, but something of a leather-bound mood. On the opposite scale for confidence – the well-balanced, steady sort – I have gone for No. 5 before, I find it calm and enveloping. I’ve been thinking that having something of suede and/or osmanthus might also be a good addition in that vein.

    3. And yes, of course, I would be happy to be contacted via email. October 4, 2017 at 5:49pm

  • Maureen: Congrats and best wishes on your pregnancy.

    1. Atelier Orange Sanguine or Vetiver Fatal. Or Guerlain pamplelune
    2. Like many others, Samsara always makes me feel both confident and calm.
    3. Yes! October 4, 2017 at 6:40pm

  • Ellen: Hi and Congratulations, I tend to not wear cologne, but 4711 has some beauties to try and they are not expensive.
I love Samsara, Coco, and Coco Noir. Tom Ford’s Sahara Noir, Amber Absolute, and Noir de Noir tends to make me feel confident. You may absolutely contact me by email.
Thank you for your generous giveaway. Have a safe pregnancy and a healthy baby. October 4, 2017 at 6:50pm

  • Alicia: What a wonderful time in your life! Maria, you
have already received many excellent suggestions. I will merely add as a cologne I love Eau de Rochas, and repeat the recommendation of Bulgari, Eau Perfumée au Thé Vert. As for comfort I have found that personally Guerlain L’Heure Bleue has been my comfort blanket for many years. I haven’t tried the new reformulation, though. Enjoy this time of bliss. I live in the USA, and you may contact me by email at your pleasure. October 4, 2017 at 7:07pm

  • Joy Erickson: Congratulations, Maria!
When it is too hot or I may be riving long distance in a car where I tend to get queasy, I like to use a splash such a Heno de Pravio. It is Spanish. They make a soap, cologne, deodorant, and the splash. I don’t put much on my body, but on my legs. The lotion too is subtle and nice. It is citrusy and cooling. When even that is too much, I like to use a perfumed soap such as Roger & Gallet Rose or Citron. They leave the mere hint of fragrance on the skin. October 4, 2017 at 7:47pm

  • Old Herbaceous: Hello Maria, congratulations! I have three children and I remember those days of scent sensitivity well. May you enjoy them in good health!
    1. You might enjoy some of the Guerlain Aqua Allegoria line, as they are light and there are so many from which to choose; I’ve seen some very cute mini sets of four for sale. Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca is green and aromatic, but very light, and available at online discounters. As you may be especially sensitive to smell for a while, the lighter fragrances with less sillage may work really well for you, like some in the Yves Rocher line. Have you tried Penhaligon’s Savoy Steam Eau de Cologe? It is different from the EDP and less floral, more aromatic, apparently. I haven’t tried it but it looks promising!
    2. Penhaligon’s Blasted Bloom makes me feel confident! Chanel No. 22 makes me feel calm and happy in a peaceful way.
    3. I live in the US and you should be able to contact me via email through my Gravatar! October 4, 2017 at 8:44pm

  • Sharon: Hi Maria, Congratulations on your pregnancy! My suggestions for green, clean scents are:

O de Lancôme, it’s lemony and slightly peppery and very refreshing.

Estee Lauder Private Collection which smells of lovely green herbs and a bit of spice.

Origins Ginger Essence which is light, airy and gingery, perfect for a pick-me-up.

My favorite perfumes that make me feel confident are Mitsouko, Coco, and Samsara.

Yes, please contact me via email if I win. Thank you for your generous giveaway! October 4, 2017 at 9:06pm

  • Marianna: I am in the US and can be contacted via email.
I am not much for colognes, so I cannot really recommend many. Atelier has a couple of nice once – but to me they are more EDP feel.
Parfums that make me feel confident – pretty much any perfume. If I do not wear a perfume I fell less confident.
Thank you much for such a generous giveaway October 4, 2017 at 10:31pm

  • Kate Stewart: Hi Maria! I am pregnant too! I feel very lucky that after my first trimester I have been able to wear almost everything in my collection.

Here are some ideas for your questions:

    1. Recommendations for colognes, natural sprays or eau fraiches:

I was very lucky to work with Bvlgari parfums for several years a while back, and I think that Au The Vert will ALWAYS smell beautiful and classic to me. If you live in a warm climate, putting it in the refrigerator should give you a nice refreshing spritz. I second Eau Dynamisante by Clarins as well, I think that’s a great idea. My other favorite is the Guerlain Acqua Allegoria Herba Fresca, I think that would fit within the limits of the types of fragrances you don’t like. I spray that on liberally several times a day, and it never seems overwhelming.

2: What makes you feel confident is SO subjective! One thing I like to do is wear a fragrance that reminds me of a trip I went on or a confident time in my life. Every trip I go on I chose a new fragrance to wear, so that that fragrance will always remind me of the trip.

I personally find that sophisticated oriental scents like Oriens by Van Cleef and Arpels make me feel confident, but I wore Love in Black by Creed on my wedding day, so that makes me feel confident too!

Also, I find that most Bvlgari fragrances make me feel pretty confident, but since I work as a counselor, I can only wear relatively mellow fragrances. I end up wearing fragrances from the Omnia collection to work most days, and I find they pretty perfectly fit the bill!

If you’re a winner, can I contact you by email and share your email address with Maria? Yes! October 5, 2017 at 12:01am

  • Cody: Hi there!

My favorite cologne is Santa Maria novella colonia russa, very natural smelling citrus with some bitter herbs and a touch of leather in the base. I also love BVLGARI eau the rouge, nice nutty rooibos edc, perfect for the fall.

I always find vetiver to be very comforting. I especially love vintage vetiver by carven because that’s what my grandfather always wore, and he was the only adult in my childhood that I felt safe around. My favorite vetivers are Chanel sycomore and Mona Di Orio, they both smell like a million bucks!

I am in the USA and can be reached by email.

Thanks so much for the giveaway and I wish you nothing but the best!

    Cody October 5, 2017 at 3:04am

  • sara levy: Congrats and thank you for the offer.

    1. MPG Eau pour un jeune homme and Roger et gallet jean marie farina

    2. Mitsouko and Chergui make me feel confident but I think that really varies by individual!
    3. I am in the USA and can be reached via email. October 5, 2017 at 8:58am

  • Sapphire: Congratulations!
    1. For colognes and freshness, vintage Lauren, Annick Goutal Eau de Camille or good old 4711.
    2. For quit confidence, Bottega Venetta Knot or VCA Muguet Blanc. Diorissimo, too.
    3. More than fine to email me. October 5, 2017 at 9:41am

  • Maria: Congratulations and thanks for your generosity, Chanel 19 is my favorite ever!

    1. I love Eau de Rochas, classic but interesting, O de L’Orangerie (Lancome), and “Nenuco”: one that we all share with our babies in Spain!

    2. Confident: Alaïa, Marni and Encre Noir by Lalique. Serene and Peaceful: Un Matin d`Orage by Annick Goutal

    3. Glad to be contacted and provide my address. October 5, 2017 at 9:44am

  • Carolina: Hello, for Maria:
    1. First of all, congratulations on the renewal of the miracle of life, it’s a blessing not all of us can have, so enjoy every minute of it, wholeheartedly! 😀
My suggestion is not technically a cologne but I find Chanel’s Bel Respiro EDP a light, fresh and green scent, that’s pleasant and not tiresome for the nose but also has some sophistication to it. I thinks it meets all of your criteria.
    2. The perfume that makes me peaceful is Hypnotic Poison, but it has plenty of vanilla so it won’t fit your current state. So I would go with Guerlain’s Samsara, an underrated beauty (IMHO) that makes me think of the serenity of an oriental temple (even though I’ve never been in one, LOL). Chanel Bois des Iles could be a similar choice.
    3. Victoria: yes, you can contact me and share my address with Maria.
Even if I don’t win, I’m happy to help if I can, in spite of being relatively new to perfume mania 🙂 October 5, 2017 at 10:09am

  • Eudora: Wow!
I will recommend my two favorite colognes. Mugler Cologne is fresh and easy and charming. Caron Pour un homme is easy and charming too! but warmer. We share (husband and daughter and me) those two. For me both are PERFECT. They smell family and love. I discovered Cristalle this summer and is such a beauty!
I am waiting for the cold weather to enjoy my own tradition. At the end of the day, everything done, after a shower I spray Comme des Garcons Avignon and…I can fly! Chanel Coco also works!
During my pregnancy my nose was hyper sensitive. So sensitive that I discovered, for the first time, how I do smell, my own body odor…and it was disgusting-the whole world smelled disgusting. Those three first months!
Good luck with your pregnancy, enjoy it!
    Yes, you can contact me.

  • Jaime: Hi Maria,
Congratulations on your pregnancy. It’s such a beautiful time, except for some of the physical side-effects, like a change in sense of smell!

My recommendation for something fresh to try would be Lancome’s O de L’Orangerie, or Clarins Eau Dynamisante. I also agree that Chanel Bel Respiro & Diptyque L’ombre dans l’eau would both be great as green choices. And maybe check out Chanel Jersey, too.The lavender isn’t too musky on me….maybe it would wear the same with your skin chemistry.

I find lavender and incensey perfumes to be calming. And clean scents to give me confidence. So my picks are: indie perfumer CJ Scents Darkness or Lavender Vanilla, JLo Glow (or China Rain), Paul Sebastian Casual, L’esprit d’Oscar, Joseph Jivago Sweet Dreams.

Of course I can be contacted via email (I’m in Canada as well).

Happy pregnancy and thank you for such a generous giveaway! October 5, 2017 at 10:26am

  • Laura: Congratulations Maria! And thank you for your great giveaway! no 19 has always been one of my favorite scents!! And the other 2 bottles you offer are great scents as well.
1). Seeing that you like Eau du Coq ( which I love dearly), I suggest you to try Roger & Gallet Jean Marie Farina Extra Vieille. Oldie but goodie. You might also like Hermes Eau de Neroli Doré, or Goutal Neroli, SMN Colonia Russa or Dior Escales a Portofino, all these scents are light natural smelling and refreshing. For a light green cologne, you might want to try Goutal Eau du Sud, or Artisan L’Eau de Artisan, as personally I find them invigorating.

2). Lalique Encre Noire, Dior Diorling Guerlain Chamade, Chanel Bois des Iles and ( sorry!) no 19 EDT pre-reformulated light beige-green version, Hermes Cuir d’Ange, The Different Company Bois d’Iris, L’artisan Dzongkha and Vanille Absolument, Gianni Campagna Vento Canale, Serge Lutens Vetiver Oriental are some perfumes which make me feel confident and serene.

3). I will be happy to be contacted by email.

Thank you again for this opportunity and wish you all the best!! October 5, 2017 at 11:03am

  • irem: Congratulations Maria! I wish you a healthy and easy pregnancy and a healthy baby. Have been there twice and gave away my fragrances while pregnant and breastfeeding.
    As for your questions:
    1. Chanel Eau de Cologne is excellent, refreshing, great for nausea. 4711 works a treat too. Cristalle EdT was the only proper perfume I wore during my second pregnancy, dry (no sweetness at all), fresh and very chic. I also love Clarins Eau Dynamisante, but it is sweeter than the other options.
What I loved most, though, were fragranced shower gels: Roger Gallet has several good ones, Clarins Eau Dynamisante shower gel or foam are great.
    2. For me it is No. 19. Confident, calm, serene. Especially the parfum.
    3. Please contact me and let me know I am the winner 😉 October 5, 2017 at 11:30am

  • Monica: Maria, congratulations on your pregnancy and thank you for such a wonderful giveaway!

    1. I would recommend:
    – Chanel L’ Eau
    – Guerlain Eau de Guerlain
    – Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca
    – Bvlgari Eau Perfumee Au the Vert

    2. – Le Labo Ambrette 9- marketed for
    mother and babies. Very relaxing.
    – Hermes Un Jardin en Mediterranee
    – Hermes Un Jardin sur le Nil
    – Parfumes de Nicolai Week-End in

    3. You can use my email.

Thanks again Maria and Victoria. October 5, 2017 at 11:52am

  • Anna: Congratulations Maria! May the wee one sleep through the night and smile throughout the day.

    1. I’ve found Caron Eau Fraiche and Caron Eau de Reglisse to be very soothing. Eau de Reglisse has a licorice note in it that is bracing and yet “soft.”

    2. Old favorites of mine are Brosseau’s Ombre Rose, Molinard’s Habanita and Shiseido’s Zen Classic. Each of these are distinctive and do not contain the dreaded white musk that bothers me as well. Habanita in particular has a distinctive powdery accord that is like no other. Calmness and comfort are in all of the above three.

    3. I am happy to be contacted by e-mail.

Thank you for such a generous giveaway. October 5, 2017 at 12:39pm

  • Severine: I have been researching on scent, pregnancy and childbirth. I loved the feedback on my query on Victoria’s recent Recommend me a perfume. Here is my honest advice:
    1. I have discovered that lavender fragrances relax, soothe and put the baby to sleep. You don’t want to wear a fragrance that nauseates you, or gives you a headache. Can you believe it: the fetus can smell your amniotic fluid, and a baby’s sense of smell is 4 times stronger than yours. Smell will play a HUGE part in developing your babies memories. Smell is how your newborn identifies you!!!
So: lavender is in. For me, since I have anxiety issues, vetiver is an amazing remedy.
So my recommendations for your beautiful pregnant belly will be:
    1. Serge Lutens Gris Clair (if you can stand the incense in it) – lavender. It is in the vein of an eau.
A cooler, green option would be: Serge Lutens Eau Froide.
    2. For a sip and see once the baby’s born: Sarah Jessica Parker Stash!
In this case your “stash” is the little bunny!!! It is elegant, green vetiver with cool pencil sharp shavings of cedarwood. Classy. Modern. Clean and uncluttered. And baby will like it too.
    3. Yes. You can contact me. October 5, 2017 at 1:22pm

    • Severine: L’eau Froide smells like a silent pine forest with a cool breeze blowing through it. In fact, it is like a fairy-tale frozen forest with an aurora bouncing on the horizon. Uncle Serge really did this one right! October 5, 2017 at 1:37pm

  • Cheri Claus: When I want a very fresh and light cologne, I go for my tried and true 4711.

As for scents that make me feel confident-(as in date night), I currently love Tom Ford Noir Pour Femme, but it is very strong, so I’m not sure that would work for you right now. Much lighter and quite wonderful in my opinion are the scents by Replica. Flower Market is a green floral, and Beach Walk smells like suntan lotion with a hint of sea salt. 🙂 Congratulations on your soon to arrive baby!
Yes, you can contact me. October 5, 2017 at 2:49pm

  • Theresa: Maria,
that is so generous of you to celebrate your exciting event with this perfume giveaway. You are spreading the excitement to hundreds of us!

    1. My suggestions: Guerlain Chamade (an all time favorite of mine); Chanel Cristalle (very green & light). These two always make me happy when I wear them.
    2. Serene fragrances that I wear when I want to feel super confident: I like vetiver here, and favor especially either Chanel Sycomore or Lalique Encre Noir. I also like Fils de Dieu a lot, especially for when I do not want share my perfume with people around me!
    3. Yes, of course you can share my email address with Maria. October 5, 2017 at 2:52pm

  • OnWingsofSaffron: What an immensely generous offer! Thanks so much, Maria!
    1) Diptyque Geranium Odorata (this really smells intensively like a garden!)
    2) – okay: as a man, and not as a dad – confident: vintage Mitsouko, Guerlain; serene: Bois de Violette, Serge Lutens; calm and peaceful: vintage Nuit de Noël, Caron.
    3) Sure! October 5, 2017 at 4:21pm

  • nereis: 1. have you perhaps considered Eau De Cartier Zeste De Soleil? It is among my favourite citrus fragrance in the recent releases, yuzu sunshine in a bottle. Gentle non-citrus pick me ups I would choose something like Atelier Trèfle Pur and Le Chevrefeuille, these slightly green-florals should be a possible good side step to the green fragrances you have mentioned.

    2. For confidence sandalwood tends to do it for me, Tam Dao, Chanel Bois des Iles, that sort of thing, and there is always a special place for cold rooty orris.

    3. you may contact me via email if I happen to win 😀 October 5, 2017 at 5:02pm

  • maggiecat: Please don’t enter me in the draw – your scents deserve someone who truly loves them, whereas I simply like them – but I can recommend Annick Goutal’s Eau d’Hadrien (fresh lemony goodness) and Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Laurier Reglisee as wonderful spritzes. I wore both while recovering from surgery this summer when everything else seemed just…too much. October 5, 2017 at 5:09pm

  • Tiffanie: Reading these comments is a wonderful treat. I absolutely love to wear colognes.

    1. My current favorites are Guerlain’s La Cologne du Parfumeur, Eau de Guerlain, and Chanel’s Eau de Cologne. Classic 4711 cologne always brings a smile to my face. I keep a bottle in my refrigerator and another with my perfumes.

Atelier Cologne’s Trefle Pur, also recommended in nereis’ comment, is a wonderful green cologne. To my nose Grand Neroli and Mistral Patchouli have a refreshing green tint as well.

    2. My confident and calm scents are from Hermes: Jour d’Hermes, Eau des Merveilles, and Un Jardin sur le Nil. I think of these as cologne-perfumes. They have an uplifting sparkle and comfortable transparency that bring me joy.

    3. I am happy to be contacted by email.

Thank you to Maria and Victoria for this marvelous giveaway. And congratulations to Maria and family on your upcoming great adventure. October 5, 2017 at 5:34pm

  • Tomasina: 1. Frederick Malle cologne bigarade and bigarade concentree, Angeliques sous la pluie and l’eau d’hiver, bvlgari the vert, diptyque l’ombre fans l’eau and ofresia
    2. Anything by Jean Claude Elena, as above! Also penhaligons ostara but it is musky so wouldn’t be right, jasmine oil from the health store!
    3. I am happy to be contacted by email

Thank you so much Maria for this generous offer and to Victoria for this gorgeous blog. Good luck to Maria with your little one! October 5, 2017 at 6:11pm

  • vika: ,,,,,

    chanel N19 makes me confident.

thank you and enjoy your pregnancy! October 5, 2017 at 6:54pm

  • Chris: Chanel 18 sounds made to order! October 5, 2017 at 7:49pm

  • Nicholas: Firstly, congratulations on your pregnancy and thank you for a wonderful giveaway Maria!

Given on your olfactive persuasion for green and aromatic scents, I might suggest niche Australian brand Goldfield & Banks’ Blue Cypress to see out your pregnancy. A natural spray, Blue Cypress is an assuredly sophisticated fresh, aromatic and faintly woody scent full of heavenly (and calming!) lavender and clove. Devoid of sweetness and white musk with moderate-cum-soft sillage you shouldn’t find anything cloying here. I’d be happy to send you a decant if you’d like?

If the thought of Parfum concentration doesn’t immediately nauseate you, Creed’s Green Irish Tweed might be worth a try also. Green, very green! Fresh too! A remarkably pure fougère.

Fragrance that makes me feel confident, serene and calm? Chanel’s Sycomore EDT without a doubt! Dominated by an exquisitely silken and sophisticated vetiver note, Sycomore is uncluttered and straightforward, exuding a quiet and purposeful strength.

You may indeed contact me by email should I be so lucky as to get to rehome your perfumes – I live in Perth, Australia.

Kindest regards and best wishes! October 5, 2017 at 8:12pm

  • Maria Potenciano: 1. For Maria, I recommend my favorite light cologne, Royale Ambree by Legrain. It smells fresh, crisp, it’s happy making and such an attractive smell which lifts up your mood instantly.
    2. I think the perfect scent for a new mom is Carriere. It’s calm, quietly confident, clean, beautiful in its subtleness and quite unforgettable because of it.
    3. Sure, I would love to be contacted thru email. Thank you very much, and all the best to you, Maria ❤️ October 5, 2017 at 8:31pm

  • carole: Thank you for this opportunity. I hope everything goes well for you and the newest addition to your family.

Something for you to try: what about Eau de Rochas, and Eau dePatou? The Rochas is so beautiful, and the glass bottle also makes me happy. The PAtou has cedar and some spiciness due to nasturtium-it’s beautiful and so grounding.

I thin these are two fragrances I use to feel calm and serene.

Please fell free to contact me via email. I’m Canadian, too 🙂

    Best regards,

    Carole October 5, 2017 at 8:39pm

    2) I discovered MDCI belle Helene, its elegant, pear without the overwhelming sweet. That has become my signature since giving birth though I did have to save up for it $$. I also fell in love with dame Perfumery gardenia because I would be sooo thrilled if my son grew up thinking of those 2 scents as mommy.
    3) yes email is fine and ok to share. October 5, 2017 at 9:34pm

  • Orla Morrissey: Many best wishes and a hearty Congrats to you Maria!!! Sorry to hear you can’t stand these perfumes anymore but generous of you to give them away as you are…! Suggestions for your fragrances would be: Bobbie Brown ALMOST BARE and Dior EAU SAUVAGE (old edition!) Also anything Chanel CHANCE EAU VIVE perhaps???
Thank you again for the giveaway and to Victoria for your participation. Best Wishes and Good Luck to all!! – Plse do email me! October 5, 2017 at 9:55pm

  • Laura Sharples: Congrats on the baby coming. That is excellent!

I would suggest Guerlain Aqua Allegoria line as they have lots of long lasting but light scents. Also, perhaps a small bottle of something from Hermes un Jardin series, like Sur le Nil might be nice.

My calm and peaceful fragrance is Penhaligon’s Orange Blossom. It relaxes me with its creaminess. It is the only perfume I spray to sleep.

And, of course you can share my contact info with Maria.

    Thanks! October 5, 2017 at 11:05pm

  • Alexandra Ferreira: Alexa Ferreira Greetings, Maria! Congratulations on your growing family! I have one answer for questions 1 and 2: Chanel’s Cristalle. There are hints of Cristalle in #19, but Cristalle lives up to its name and is all crystalline delicacy. It is absolutely unique, in terms of its character and quality. Today there is an EDT, but years ago, it was only called a “fragrance” and I think that was really a better term as it is so light and delicate, so ethereal and transparent. Cristalle was my mother’s signature scent and in her final illness, she was concerned about little other that that my sister and I should inherit her last two bottles, her legacy to us! She passed just six weeks before my younger son was born. On the day my son was born, my husband went home to care for my older boy. I napped with my baby beside me in the bassinet. At one point, I woke up. The room was filled with the scent of Cristalle! My mother had come to greet my son and to comfort me. My mother was a great beauty and I could never compare to her, really, but when I wear Cristalle, everything, including myself, seems refracted through it into something more beautiful and perfect. • Nadja: Hi Maria! I hope your pregnancy and birth are easy and joyful. And thank you for your kind offer.

    1) It is not a cologne, but maybe Silences would suit you? And it’s wonderfully inexpensive. I was grateful that perfume didn’t bother me while pregnant. Food carts were another matter!

    2) Silences! And Encre Noire. I also find the shea moisture bath products I bought for the baby very calming myself. They are scented with frankincense and myrrh.

    3) You are welcome to contact me. October 5, 2017 at 11:51pm

  • AD: Hi Maria, Congratulations on the baby!

    1. One of my stand-by perfumes for when I don’t feel like wearing anything is Guerlain’s Cologne Imperiale. Seeing as you’ve tried du Coq, you probably know Imperiale as well. But if you haven’t tried it, I would highly recommend it. It’s mostly neroli and petitgrain on me.

    2. The perfume that makes me calm and peaceful is SJP’s Lovely. That one is so pretty and soft, it feels like I’m wrapped in cashmere. It does have quite a bit of white musk though.

    3. Yes, you may contact me by email. I am in Canada as well.

Thanks for the giveaway. October 6, 2017 at 12:02am

  • Jennifer S.: Congratulations and thank you for the generous offer!
Maybe a splash like ‘Cucumber’ from Marc Jacobs or DKNY Pure Verbena. These are nice and light or an oil from Al-rehab such as ‘Green Tea’ might not bother you.

my calming scents include Aromatics Elixir and JL Scherrer.

Of course you may contact me! October 6, 2017 at 12:17am

  • Eric Brandon: Wow, how generous!

    1. I just tried Astier de Villante’s colognes today! I’m leaning toward Elixir de Docteur Flair but their Eau Chic is!
    2. Dzongkha! All day. Makes me feel sequestered in a stone cavern, where it is quiet and peaceful. Must love incense though!
    3. Absolutely. 🙂 October 6, 2017 at 12:18am

  • Olga: Congratulations on your pregnancy, Maria!

    1. I like the essential oils and natural perfumes sold by Saje (a Canadian company). I use them for many years, including pregnancy and breastfeeding years.
    2. Mitsuko by Guerlain always makes me feel special and calm.
    3. You can contact me by email.

Thank you, Maria. Enjoy this special time! October 6, 2017 at 2:09am

  • Edward: Thank you Maria for the generous offer and congratulations!

    1) Lancome Aromatonic or L Occitane Lavande
    2) 31 Rue Cambon. This never fails if I want to impress and feel confident.
    3) Yes, you may contact me thru my email.

    Salamat! (Thank you!)

  • Rebecca: Thank you Maria and Victoria for this give away. So generous. I’m interested in the No 19…

    1. Someone else above said O de Lancôme and I agree I think it would be great. Also Herba Fresca from Guerlain. And one line that that Victoria posted about and got me into; Bien Être colognes. Can you get them in Canada?

    2. Ironically my “cool calm and collected” fragrance of choice is one that you are giving away; the Prada Infusion d’Iris. It soothes me and makes me feel I’m in control even if I’m not! I always have a bottle in my collection. It’s essential to me. Maybe a lovely orange blossom fragrance would work well for this (a clean one!) like Au Pays de la Fleur d’Oranger’s Neroli blanc, perhaps the cologne. I find it to be long lasting with great sillage in fact.

    3. Im happy to be contacted by email and I live in France.

Good luck to everyone and have a beautiful weekend. Maria, courage to you with the sickness. Will all be worth it when you have your baby in your arms. October 6, 2017 at 5:42am

  • katherine x: Maria, They’re a bit hard to find but Cartier’s L’heure Brillante is gin and sparkling fresh and their L’heure Vertueuse (III) is herbal and serene. Hope you can give them a try. Good luck. Yes and yes to contacting me and sharing email. October 6, 2017 at 8:43am

  • Hazel: Hi Maria! Hoping for a safe and healthy pregnancy for you.
    1. My recommendations would be Bvlgari Petits et Mamans, Hermès Jardin Sur Le Nil / Sur le Toit, Philosophy Pure Grace, or Clean Ultimate, for a mild, delicate fragrance.

    2. Perfumes that make me feel calm and serene are Nicolai L’eau Mixte (it’s zesty yet soothing at the same time), Chanel No. 22 (understated, restrained yet dignified) and Frederic Malle L’eau d’Hiver (a rather comforting and calming scent). Oh, and Guerlain Apres l’Ondee. It’s a wistful, contemplative perfume for me. Must be the violets.

    3. A big yes, you can contact me by email 🙂 cheers from the Philippines! October 6, 2017 at 9:54am

  • MJ Moore: 1. I’ve been intrigued by PHLUR for a while now, but haven’t tried any of their scents yet. They are free of many bad chemicals and have a great try-before-you-buy deal.
    2. As far as scents that make me feel calm and confident, I also need suggestions! Life changes call for new fragrances sometimes, and that’s my dilemma as well…
    3. Of course 😊
Congratulations and best wishes! October 6, 2017 at 12:18pm

  • Vani: Hello, Maria, congratulations on your happy news and I hope you’re doing well. I’m a mother of three, and I can remember that all my senses were altered during pregnancy and still to this day even though my children are grown, I still don’t enjoy some of the smells and foods as much as I used to before pregnancy.
    Well as far as perfumes that make me feel confident, serene, calm and peaceful, they are: Chloe, Love; Bottega Veneta, Knot; Jo Malone, Peony & Blush Suede; Chanel No.5 Eau Premiere;
I absolutely fell in love Chanel No.19 and Chanel 19 Poudré; They were both blind purchases after reading Victoria’s blog and as always, her reviews were on point!! I’m not familiar with Prada Infusion d’Iris; You can rest assured that they will be stars in my collection if I win.
Yes, you can contact me by email. October 6, 2017 at 12:54pm

  • Libby: Hello Maria,
I’m totally with you – when pregnant, I didn’t like scent, and I didn’t want strong coffee or full-bodied red wine, which was soo strange for me – i’m still getting back into light summer scents.
I would recommend, perhaps, something very, very light, 4711 I would recommend as it is nice and light and doesn’t hang around too long if you get tired of it. Also, I have been on a search for an orange blossom scent for summer, and actually prefer a cologne from Fragonard, their Fleur d’Oranger, which I love, as it reminds me of the south of France, and is not heavy at all.
in the past I have enjoyed Chanel 19, and would like a chance to enjoy it again.
thank you for your generous offer, and yes, you may contact me via email –
good luck and best wishes! October 6, 2017 at 1:12pm
