The Different Company Kashan Rose Perfume Giveaway

Happy 4th of July! We have a great giveaway today thanks to Yana. She would like to give away a full bottle of The Different Company Kashan Rose.  Yana can send her package anywhere in the USA or Europe.

We are not responsible for custom duties, leaks or damage during transit or for lost packages.

To participate, please answer these questions. I will randomly draw one winner.

1. Yana would like recommendations for a gourmand fragrance that is however not too sweet and can be worn in the summer. She says, “it’s my favorite perfume style, but I find many gourmands too heavy in warm weather. Please help me find something lighter.”
2. May I contact you via email to notify you of your win and share your email with Yana?

The contest is now closed. The winner is Angel. Congratulations. I’ll contact you via email shortly.

  • Matty Maccaro: How about Serendipitous Serendipity 3?
Sweet without hitting too hard. Chocolate
w/bitter orange & vanilla. Not terribly
long lasting but fun. July 5, 2019 at 8:19am Reply

  • Patricia Devine: I would recommend Safran Troublant from Artisan. It is very light, with a Middle Eastern flavour of saffron and rosewater – I wear it often to go out to lunch in summer. For something longer-lasting, the discontinued Calligraphy Saffron is superb, if you can track down a bottle on Ebay or elsewhere. July 5, 2019 at 9:05am Reply

  • yumeyorimo: Thank you Yana. You could try Kyse Perfumes Crema di Lime e Cognac. I haven’t tried it myself but it is supposedly a good gourmand option for summer because of the lighter citrus element. July 5, 2019 at 9:10am Reply

    • yumeyorimo: I almost forgot! Yes, you may contact me if my name is drawn. July 5, 2019 at 9:57am Reply

  • Faye: I like Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka, which is marketed as a “cologne intense”, when I’m in the mood for a gourmand in the summertime, While it has more sillage and longevity than typical Jo Malone colognes, it is light for a gourmand. It is creamy, a bit nutty, a bit incense-y from the myrrh, and not too sweet. Lovely. July 5, 2019 at 9:15am Reply

  • Guillaume Malingri de Bagnolo: 1. Musk Al Shayukh by Oud Elite July 5, 2019 at 9:22am Reply

  • Alica Cleis: The latest version of Thierry Mugler Angel EDt is my suggestion. It is sensual and sweet while also “trés chic”. Sure you can contact me. Thanks July 5, 2019 at 9:25am Reply

    • Christine Kalleeny: Hi Yana

I love La Traversee du Bosphore for a delicious not too sweet Turkish delight. I think it is not too heavy for warmer months. You are welcome to email me. July 5, 2019 at 1:04pm Reply

  • Perfumelover67: Thank you Yana and Victoria for such a great giveaway.
    1. I would suggest Guerlain Eau de Shalimar, Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Abricot, L’Artisan Saffran Troublant.
    2. You can contact me via email. July 5, 2019 at 9:41am Reply

  • Lyn: Annick Goutal ‘Eau du Sud’.
Fresh, citrus, herbal. Green, woody, interesting and elegant. July 5, 2019 at 9:45am Reply

    • Lyn: Oh and YES, you may contact me 😑 July 5, 2019 at 10:24am Reply

  • Rachel: Hi ! I am loving Shalimar cologne right now. It has a lemon custard smell with vanilla that is not too heavy. I can apply a lot and I am not overwhelmed. It fades to a light musk I think it is perfect for summer nights. July 5, 2019 at 10:04am Reply

    • Rachel: Yes you may contact me. July 5, 2019 at 10:06am Reply

      • Jackie: Terra Mia by Cathrusia is a gourmand. It is a coffee, white floral, nutty, vanilla with a nice spicy fragrance. It has a projection that will last all day and gets creamy and softer as it lingers. Even with the coffee present, it can be worn year round because of a citrus note in the background. Just beautiful. July 5, 2019 at 10:51am Reply

        • Jackie: Yes, you may contact me via email. Jackie that left the comments on Terra Mia July 5, 2019 at 3:54pm Reply

      • Aida Hashemi: Of course my all time favorite gourmand has always been Angel by Thierry Mugler, which I’ve been wearing for the last 30 years. As a lighter gourmand, I also do enjoy his Muse scent.
Lately though I’ve fallen in love with Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry 🍒.
I thought it was a little fruity or candy like at the very beginning. However, as it settled it became pure deliciousness.
Yes, you can contact me through email 😊😊 July 5, 2019 at 11:16am Reply

    • Jane: 1. I would recommend Lutens Rahat Loukum which is rose and almonds , or a couple from Guerlain , or any Comptoir de Pacific , although I get the most compliments from men for their banana.
      2. You can email , text or call me at the numbers below. July 5, 2019 at 12:57pm Reply

  • Gretchen: I don’t need to be entered into the draw, but I can suggest Lumiere Blanche as a potential summer gourmand. Good luck to everyone! July 5, 2019 at 10:15am Reply

  • Michelle Lea: Shalimar Soufflé would be your best bet. Lemon loaf with vanilla….. very light and musky… plus the bottle is gorgeous! Yes please contact me! July 5, 2019 at 10:23am Reply

  • Jacqueline Overton: Kashan Rose is a beautiful, delicious scent. It creates a euphoria of elegance. The scent of Rose is lush. The Vanilla it not overpowering just lingers enough to round out the rose. Must have for Rose lovers. July 5, 2019 at 10:27am Reply

  • Lorri S: Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry is perfection to me, in all seasons. It is an elegant cherry, not at all lollipop-ish. (OK to contact). July 5, 2019 at 11:06am Reply

  • Lynn LaMar: Hi Yana! You wouldn’t believe this but “Urban Outfitters” offers 4 (?) different gourmand summer fragrances (EDP) for a ridiculous low price and they are surprisingly and fabulously dripping with summertime!!!
Yes!! You may contact me by email!!! xo July 5, 2019 at 11:07am Reply

  • Despina Veneti: Hello, and thank you for the lovely prize!
I recommend a truly original gourmand, Immortelle by Manos Gerakinis. It’s a wonderfully balanced and original, as well as not at all overtly sweet, composition of everlasting flower, spices (cloves, cinnamon), burnt sugar and milk note, on a base of sandalwood, patchouli and benzoin.
In the summer I also enjoy Fath’s Essentials L’Orée du Bois, a beautiful mimosa/honey fragrance; yellow flowers and sunny spices are given a gourmand dimension thanks to the most realistic and delectable honey note I’ve ever experienced.
My third light gourmand suggestion is Wonderlust by Michael Kors, a creamy and delicious floral thanks to almond milk and cinnamon.
P.S. By all means, contact me! 🙂 July 5, 2019 at 11:33am Reply

  • Tara C: I would try Diptyque Eau Duelle or Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee, neither is overly sweet, but still on the vanille gourmand side. It’s been discontinued, but if you can find it, Prada Infusion d’Iris Absolue is a lightly sweeter version of the original.
You may contact me or share my email. July 5, 2019 at 11:34am Reply

  • Priscilla Hoffman-Stowe: I like Hermès Jardin sur le Nil for a crisp, sophisticated summer scent. Not sweet but not astringent or musky either. Yes you can contact me if I win. July 5, 2019 at 11:49am Reply

  • Deanna: Lovely prize! Thank you.
I suggest Sacrebleu Intense by Nicolai
Not too heavy, but oriental vibe.
More fruity version of L’Heure Bleu?
Email me of course! July 5, 2019 at 12:35pm Reply

  • Mary: Dear Yana, I recommend Pacifica Island Vanilla. It comes in a roller ball that is perfect to carry in your purse this summer. The honey and vanilla notes are beautiful but not too heavy for summer. Thank you and yes, you. An email me. July 5, 2019 at 1:05pm Reply

  • MMKinPA: I just discovered Majda Bekkali Fusion Sacrée Obscur which has a lovely caramel note; I think it would work in the summer – not overly heavy or dense to my nose. Yes- you may contact me! July 5, 2019 at 1:38pm Reply

  • Jean: 1. I recently fell in love with Safran Troublant which, for me, is a beautiful & unique blend of saffron and rose. It also has a lovely dry-down. 2. Thank you for another wonderful give away and yes, you may contact and share my email. July 5, 2019 at 2:07pm Reply

  • Inma: Hello!

    1. I would say Orchidée Vanille (Van Cleef & Arpels Collection Extraordinaire)

  • Sharon: Thanks for the giveaway! I love Jo Malone’s Nutmeg and Ginger. It sounds like winter but surprisingly light and luscious, a treat for any time of year. Yes, you may ask me for my info! July 5, 2019 at 3:12pm Reply

  • Dubaiscents: Hello, I’d suggest some of the Kilian scents like “in the city of sin” or “forbidden games” for excellent summer choices. Ganache perfumes also does some great gourmands with certain ones geared more towards summer. And finally I’d suggest Mardi Gras by Olympic Orchids. Thanks for such a lovely give away. I’d be happy to hear from you if I won. July 5, 2019 at 3:33pm Reply

  • Klaas: Hello Yana, there’s a lovely scent called 19 mai 1957 by Pozzo di Borgo that I can recommend for summer. It’s caramelly sweet and vanillic, but has enough savory notes to keep it light and playfull (lavender, licorice and eucalyptus). Very interesting! Have you tried Fils de Dieu du Riz et des Agrumes by Etat Libre d’ Orange (now that’s a mouthful)? I haven’t had the chance myself, but it sounds very interesting……could be nice? July 5, 2019 at 3:36pm Reply

  • Klaas: Oh, and Rose scents are not my thing, so please do not include me in the draw….but thank you for the generous offer! July 5, 2019 at 3:38pm Reply

  • Rositsa Naskova: Aqua Allegoria Flora Nymphea Guerlain perfume

yes, contact me July 5, 2019 at 4:41pm Reply

  • Sophie Welsh: Ooooh! Pick me, pick me!

    1) I have the same issue with gourmands in summer. The first thing that comes to mind is Fils de Dieu du Riz et des Agrumes by ELDO. It smells like a rice and cardamom pudding, so delicious and fluffy and not too sweet.

    2) Yes, thank you! July 5, 2019 at 4:45pm Reply

  • Tam: I like Luten’s Boxeuses, it has dark fruits but not too sweet. Also, Hermes Tonka Imperial, is very light but interesting in warmer temps. Yes, you may contact me via email. Thank you for this generous giveaway! Would love to hear what you choose! July 5, 2019 at 5:06pm Reply

  • Alessandra: Great giveaway!!
So. My idea of gourmand yet wearable and even effervescent fragrance for the summer would be Guerlain’s Joyeuse Tubereuse. Sublime, radiant stuff. Alternatively, Penhaligon’s Luna, which is not exactly gourmand but does have a touch of it.
And yes, do feel free to contact me via enail and pass my details to Yana, in case I win.

Hope you’ll like and get Joyeuse and/or aluna! 🙂 July 5, 2019 at 5:23pm Reply

  • Iuliana: I would recommend Alaïa for its crisp fruity note, but also the wet chalk note Victoria describe so well in her review – it’s unusual, sophisticated and slightly addictive (for me). Happy to be contacted an thank you for the topic and giveaway! July 5, 2019 at 7:29pm Reply

  • Angel: Annick Goutal Vanille Exquise has a bit of freshness so it works on hot days. Hermès Jardin Après Mousson is also a nice sweet but not heavy perfume.

You may contact me. July 5, 2019 at 8:49pm Reply

  • J.R.: I am currently adoring Diptyque’s Essences Insensées Tiare. It could pass as a mild gourmand that’s perfect for warmer weather. I get fluffy vanilla custard with light as air whipped tiare frosting. July 5, 2019 at 10:10pm Reply

  • F.M.: I have been wearing Annick Goutal’s Vanille Exquise lately. It’s a sheer, silky vanilla that is not too sweet. Also, Dior’s Hypnotic Poison is a very sensual vanilla/almond/jasmine fragrance that wears well during the summer. Finally, Parfumerie Generale’s Felanilla starts off with a burst of saffron and melts into a wonderful vanilla/iris/woody accord that is in some ways reminiscent of Shalimar. • F.M.: Thank you for the opportunity to participate. You may contact me by email. July 6, 2019 at 9:09am Reply

  • Yasmina: Thanks for the giveaway! I would recommend Eau Duelle by Diptyque – it’s a good summer vanilla sweet! You can email me. July 5, 2019 at 11:16pm Reply

  • Marnie Beggs-Murray: Figue En Fleur by Andree Putman is creamy yet cooling, juicy fig and sandalwood. It’s gourmand without going into cake or pastry territory. I also love the spicy refreshment of Roger et Gallet Ginger. Citrus, spicy tea, zesty ginger. July 5, 2019 at 11:28pm Reply

  • Toni: I’m very fond of Hanae Mori’s Butterfly. It’s a not too sweet or heavy gourmand and I think
Would be lovely for summer. I would be happy to be contacted by email. Thanks! July 6, 2019 at 12:03am Reply

  • behemot: I would suggest my favorite summer gourmand, Brulure de Rose by Parfumerie Generale. It smells like an edible rose with a hint of caramel, and it is not too strong for summer.
You can contact me by email 🙂 July 6, 2019 at 1:33am Reply

  • Fleurycat: Great giveaway! These are fragrances (some mentioned already) that I find are very wearable summer fragrances with lovely gourmand aspects, but which are neither overtly sweet, heavy or overbearing in warm weather: Olfactive Studio Lumiere Blanc (for the cardamom) and Parfum d’Empire Equistrius are two I love, along with Etat Libre d’Orange Fils de Dieu. Also Frédéric Malle En Passant, Kenzo Jungle Elephant (for something unusual and a bit more spicy and assertive) or Safran Troublant, also spicy but very transparent. The Different Company Jasmin de Nuit is not really a gourmand fragrance but there is something juicy about this woody floral that I find compatible with warm weather. You might give it a try. July 6, 2019 at 3:22am Reply

    • Fleurycat: Thank you for including me. I may be contacted by email. July 6, 2019 at 3:27am Reply

  • Lotte: 1) I would recommend checking out the Vanilla collection from Sylvaine Delacourte. I find most of them light, and for summer I think Vanori (Sunny vanilla) or Vahina (floral Vanilla) are very suitable. Good luck with the hunt!

    2) Yes, you may contact me and share my e-mail! July 6, 2019 at 3:45am Reply

  • Aurora: Thank you Yana and Victoria.
I have 2 recommendations: Les Parfums de Rosine Rose Praline (a gourmand rose) and Cacharel Anais Anais Premier Delice, chocolate over fruit and flowers.

Of couse you could contact me via email. July 6, 2019 at 5:28am Reply

  • Austenfan: I feel very greedy but I would love a bottle of Kashan Rose.

Non sweet gourmands: Anima Dulcis by Arquiste, a spicy chocolate. The already mentioned Fils de Dieu (Etat Libre), Champaca (Ormonde Jayne) or the new Le chant de Camargue (l’Artisan Parfumeur) all have a strong rice note. Two dry spicy Diptyques: L’Autre and Eau Lente. Figs: Premier Figuier and Philosykos (and Ninfeo Mio even). A few more spicy fragrances to consider could be: Lubin Idole, the original Comme des Garçons and I would second Safrant Troublant.

Thanks Yana for being so generous and thanks again Victoria for hosting this!

You can contact me via email. July 6, 2019 at 7:02am Reply

  • Miruna: I prefer to wear greens and florals during the summer, however I do wear a few gourmands: Lolita Lempicka Le Premier EdT and LL Fleur Defendue are powdery and pretty and I mostly enjoy them during summer. Also, Guerlain LPRN Eau Fraiche which is more green and airy than the original.
I wear a lot of Thierry Mugler Womanity Eau pour Elles, which is more fruity and juicy than the original.
Though I wouldn’t classify them as gourmands, Kenzo Jungle Elephant and L’Artisan Parfumeur Saffran Troublant are two spicy orientals which are great in the summer heat – they both smell different to me than when worn in cold weather.
I hope you find your summery gourmand and you let us know! July 6, 2019 at 7:27am Reply

    • Miruna: I forgot to add Jacomo #08 and #09, I got them for a steal online and been wearing them for the last few days. #8 is a spicy aromatic chai and #09 is a spicy mango salad with chocolate shavings, they are both fresh and light enough to be worn in heat.

P.S. you can both contact me via e-mail July 6, 2019 at 8:15am Reply

  • kpaint: This is a great rose perfume! I’d love to inherit a bottle. Feel free to contact me however you wish, V.

I’m also a big fan of gourmands and one I wear year-round and especially like in the summer is Guerlain Gourmand Coquin. It is sweet, yes, but the smoky lapsang souchang note breaks it up and is particularly intoxicating in the heat. July 6, 2019 at 10:29am Reply

  • Lalaloo: Diptyque Philosykos! Coconut and Fig. So refreshing.

Another awesome some: Serge Lutens Rahat Lakhoum. It is almond sherbet with rose water mixed in it. Refreshing drink for hot days in an oasis town.

Kashan: I spent a lovely afternoon there two years ago.
May I suggest “Sira des Indes” by Jean Patou? An Indian fantasy topped with banana! It has a tiny animalic twang but is quite luscious and delicious.
Yes, I’d be thrilled to be contacted 🙂 July 6, 2019 at 12:50pm Reply

  • Eric Brandon: How wonderful! Thank you.

I’m partial to Like This even in the summer, but if that’s too heavy, I adore Piment Brulant. Red bell peppers over a dry chocolate and amber base. Very sheer but holds up in the heat.

And yes, you may contact me. July 6, 2019 at 4:25pm Reply

  • Julie Ellen: I always think that fig is a great foodie scent for summer–I like Ninfeo Mio or Hermes Jardin en Mediternee…but I like all the Jardins for summer (have you tried the new one?) Of course you can contact me for this generous draw. Thanks. July 6, 2019 at 5:33pm Reply

  • Luciana: Hi Yana! I am not sure if I can participate since I am in Canada but I still would like to recommend a fragrance that is a gourmand but not too cloying or heavy. It is Remember me by Jovoy.

  • Leah: Hello Yana and Victoria,

    What a wonderful initiative!

    1. My recommendation for Yana is Guerlain’s “Nehema”. It’s gorgeous and dense; as dense as you’d want a gourmant to be, though it technically isn’t. There’s something spicy about it and yet so unique you’ll be stopped by people in the street! It fills a room yet it has an airy quality that makes it a good fit for the summer.

Indeed, you may contact me via e-mail:).

Thank you. Have a lovely weekend. July 7, 2019 at 4:00am Reply

  • Charlotte Barrow: Hi Yana, I love Annick Goutal’s Eau de Charlotte. It’s light and powdery-floral with blackcurrant, cocoa, lily of the valley and mimosa. It makes me feel clean, fresh and put together. It’s probably debatable whether it counts as a gourmand as the floral notes outshine the more edible notes, but it might suit your desire for something light and not too sweet for summer. There’s a great review on Bois de Jasmin (although not by Victoria).

Please feel free to contact me if I win! 🙂 July 7, 2019 at 11:18am Reply

  • KristinM: Hi Yana,
I love a niche perfume made for a store in Washington DC by Arielle Shoshana. It is a unique passion fruit scent that is surprisingly not too sweet and has a nice Amber dry down. July 7, 2019 at 1:19pm Reply

  • Sebastian: I heartily recommend Selperniku from January Scent Project (John Biebel). An absolutely over-the-top hyper-creamy sandalwood, with apricot and some immortelle and chamomile. Buttery. Definitely gourmand, but not foody, not sweet at all, on the contrary it tends towards the fresh and salty. Makes me smile every time I wear it. Astounding longevity. Suitable for all seasons, just take care not to overspray when it’s hot (for me, one spritz is enough.) So much fun!

Please do not include me in the draw, but thanks for the kind offer! July 7, 2019 at 5:11pm Reply

  • Roxann: I like Rhubarb Sherbet by Commes de Garcon for summer. The rhubarb takes the heaviness away. I think this fragrance doesn’t get enough love. It’s amazing. I hope I win, feel free to send me good news. Roxann July 7, 2019 at 10:09pm Reply

  • Nelle: Commodity Tonka, Escada Magnetisim, Viktor & Rolf Bon Bon are pretty good. Yes feel free to contact me through my email! July 8, 2019 at 3:12am Reply

  • Sapphire: I recommend the original Bvlgari Omnia, based on chai tea spices. Dry enough for summer. You may contact me. July 8, 2019 at 10:54pm Reply
