Nest and Tom Ford Perfume Giveaway

Today have yet another amazing giveaway made possible by Bois de Jasmin’s reader Leslie. She would like to give away two full bottles: Nest Cocoa Woods EDP 1.7 ounces (in box, never opened) and Tom Ford “*Fabulous” EDP 1 ounce (not in box, only spayed 2 times) small black cylinder with magnetic cap. She can send her package anywhere in the US (sanitized and well-wrapped, of course).

We are not responsible for leaks or damage during transit or for lost packages.

Leslie says, “I don’t comment much, but I do love the group. It really makes me happy to bring joy to people and support your wonderful Bois de Jasmin. I am curious what fragrances evoke winter for you.”

To participate, please answer these questions. I will randomly draw one winner.

1. What scents evoke favorite winter memories for you? Which perfume is on your holiday wish list?
3. May I contact you via email to notify you of your win and share your email with Leslie?

The contest is now closed. The winner is Heather C. Congratulations! I will be in touch via email shortly.

I would like to thank our entire Bois de Jasmin community for your generosity and kindness, whether it means giveaways like this, advice or comments.

    1. Thierry Mugler Angel reminds me of winter mostly because of the warm vanilla and amber scent. Also Angel was my very first perfume and I received it on my 21st birthday which is in January so I definitely connect the scent with winter and it brings back much nostalgia for me as I still enjoy wearing Angel.

Recently I have a craving to wear Chamade-I first wore it very close to Christmas and its green spiciness reminds me of snow and 1995 🙂

On my wish list is Darcy by Parfums de Marly. December 6, 2021 at 9:28am

  • Phaedra: Thank you, Leslie and Victoria for your generosity! One of my favorite fragrant memories is KL by Karl Lagerfeld, a Christmas gift my mother received years ago. • Mary Olivarez: Thank you for the give-away. Aromatics by Clinique is the scent I most associate with winter. I wore it throughout the 90’s and never failed to get a compliment. It still comes to mind in cold weather.

On Christmas wishlist is Portrait of a Lady.

It would be fine to get notified if I’m a winner. Merry Christmas to all. December 6, 2021 at 12:27pm

  • Sarah Hicks: Hello! The scent that most evokes Christmas to me is Coco by Chanel. I wear it every year in Christmas Eve. Also love serge lutens five O’clock at gigembre. On my wish list is a vintage EDP of Shalimar and cafe rose by Tom Ford.

    Sarah December 6, 2021 at 9:48am

  • Mela: Thinking of winter coziness I always return to Fendi Theorema, sparingly using the last of my bottle. Also a fragrance by Canturi, which is little known but has a sparkling cedar note. I had a quick chance to sniff the Tom Ford and thought the combination of suede? and gourmand to be very intriguing. So please sign me up, and thank you to both Victoria for such a special site and to Leslie for such a generous offer. You can contact me via email. December 6, 2021 at 9:51am

  • Phyllis Iervello: What a generous giveaway! Sorry to be repetitious, but Le Lion is also one of my favorite winter scents along with Memo’s Winter Palace and Tom Ford’s Tobacco Venille.

I will refrain from the givaway as I already have more than enough perfumes. December 6, 2021 at 9:55am

  • Patricia: Thank you Leslie for your generous giveaway offer.
For winter I love Chanel’s Cuir de Russe reminding me of Lara’s Song, sleigh bells and red ribboned packages.

Happy Holidays to you and Victoria!
Yes, you may contact me via email.

  • Kimberly Smith: Hello Leslie and Victoria, thank you for such a generous offer. I am new to the idea of having a perfume collection and only earnestly started the pursuit of one last year. This past fall and winter I have been spending time getting to know some of the beautiful perfumes I read about on this site. My favorite autumn scent so far has been Cuir De Russie. This winter I discovered Shalimar Millesime Vanilla Planifolia. Maybe it is not a traditional winter scent but I love a couple sprays of it before I go to bed. It is so warm and cozy. My favorite winter scents are pine, peppermint, cinnamon and vanilla. They remind me of holiday baking and making snow ice cream. They are not necessarily scents I look for in perfume but they are favorite winter scents. Blessings and Merry Christmas,
    Kimberly December 6, 2021 at 10:34am

    • Kimberly Smith: I forgot, the perfume that is on my Holiday Wish List is Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry. December 6, 2021 at 10:36am

  • Heather Chase: Good morning.
Thank you for giving the community these perfumes, Leslie
Chrysanthemums, pine needles, and maple syrup evoke favorite winter memories for me. Amouage’s Lilac Love is on my wishlist, and yes, you may contact me. Thank you Victoria, for your wonderful site. You have taught me a lot about perfume.
    Sincerely,
    Heather Chase December 6, 2021 at 10:41am

    • Haleemah N Lake: Heather,
Hello. My favorite winter scents are Fir and Amber. My fall winter scent as a college student was Ritz by Charles of the Ritz. Later on it was Opium.

  • Jeremy Green: Hi there! I love and adore this blog because it gives an entirely different, more elegant look at fragrances. Here are my answers! And thank you, so much, for the generosity of a give away! SO Kind!

    1. What scents evoke favorite winter memories for you? Guerlain L’homme Ideal Extreme is a big one. So is YSL Y pour homme (whilst rather pedantic, a special person wore it and I always think of him with it on in the cold weather). MY FAVORITE holiday associated fragrance is Johann Maria Farina 1709. A year ago my mom ordered me a giant bottle from Germany. I loved smelling like the French Kings and the influential writers who wore the scent. Its delicate, almost holy orange notes please me so!

    2. Which perfume is on your holiday wish list? A few: Moustache, BDK Rouge Smoking, and, Guerlain Pamplelune (so much fun!).

    3. May I contact you via email to notify you of your win and share your email with Leslie? But of course!!! December 6, 2021 at 10:56am

  • Tami: Thank you for your generosity, Leslie!

The fragrance that evokes winter memories for me is Dior Poison. As a teenager I’d go to perfume counters and spritz myself with it, and I just think of it being “caught” in my sweater and staying with me. The fibers would trap its sweet, plummy and vanilla notes as well as the woodier notes… it smelled “warm” and cozy to me as it hung around.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 is on my wish list. I’d love to have a bottle of it in my collection! I’d also love a bottle of the original Kate Spade perfume. It’s a lovely, elegant white floral that sadly is no longer in production.

Yes, you may contact me via email. December 6, 2021 at 11:08am

  • Jean: 1. The scents which evoke favorite winter memories for me run the gamut from fresh evergreens, vanilla and musks to fresh citrus and jasmine. The top fragrance on my Christmas wish list is Mystere de Rochas. While it has been sadly discontinued I continue to search for bottles.

    2. Yes, you may contact me and share my email with Leslie.

Thank you for this generous giveaway. Happy Holidays! December 6, 2021 at 11:10am

  • Kathy: Thank you, Leslie, for your generosity. Thank you, too, Victoria for yours in another year of teaching and sharing your love of fragrance. I like several classic perfumes a bit more in winter, including Youth Dew and Paloma Picasso, for a spicy and mossy base. Coromandel has been on my wish for a while, but only by reputation – I want to sniff it when a planned shopping trip comes to be. If it does not “wow” I might go with Le Lion though I have a generous decant. Yes, you may contact me by email. December 6, 2021 at 11:10am

  • irem: I love how you applied a touch of good taste to the fragrance name. Much needed!

I am not interested in the draw, just wanted to comment. Thank you, Leslie, for your generosity. December 6, 2021 at 11:59am

  • Perfumelover67: Thank you, Leslie for such generous giveaway!

    1. Two scents that evoke warm, beautiful winter memories for me are Clinique Wrappings and Comme des Garcons Avignon. A perfume that is on my holiday wish list is L’Artisan 25 Obscuratio.

    2. Yes, you can contact me via email and share my email with Leslie. Happy Holidays! December 6, 2021 at 12:13pm

  • Claudia D.: The scent that most evokes favorite winter memories is Heaven Sent. My sister and I each received a bottle of it for Christmas in the ’70s. Smelling it any time after that always brought me right back to that winter day. Flowerbomb Midnight is on my holiday wish list, among others. Yes, you may contact me via email and share it with Leslie. Thank you so much for the generous giveaway! December 6, 2021 at 1:54pm

    • Kathy: Claudia, I have a similar happy Christmas memory of beautiful Heaven Scent – mine came in miniature star and moon bottles which I still have. The modern version smells vaguely like the original, BTW. December 9, 2021 at 8:26am

      • Claudia D.: Kathy, mine came with one of those little bears that you could pinch open and clip onto something. I recently found a vintage bottle, so now I can smell the original whenever I want! 🙂 December 9, 2021 at 4:59pm

  • Nancy C: First off, thank you Leslie, for sharing your perfumes with us!

    1. The first thing I thought of for a Christmas scent was actually my grandmother’s apple pie. She didn’t use apple slices. She shredded them and cooked them gently over very low heat with a little butter and warming spices and that was the pie filling. It was so good! I’d say that Musc Ravageur makes me think of the holidays. It’s so cuddly and easy to wear. Marc-Antoine Barrois B683 is on my wish list for Christmas!

    2. Yes, you may of course contact me at my email address. December 6, 2021 at 1:57pm

  • Fleurycat: No need to include me in this draw, but I thought I would share some of my favorite winter scents:

CHANEL Bois Des Iles a gentle classic with soft winter spices
PENHALIGON’S Lily & Spice (sadly discontinued) & CARON Bellodgia (vintage) for Nostalgic clove and carnation
CHANEL Cuir de Russie (none left, but on my long term wish list): perfect in snowy weather
CHANEL Coco: old school rich and sweet under winter wraps
JOVOY La Liturgie Des Heures: Cool incense
TEO CABANEL Oha: Bright rose and spice
AMOUAGE Jubilation 25 Woman: Sexy and festive for winter celebrations
PRADA Infusion d’Oeillet: Casual daytime spice plus clean iris
Korres Fig Body Milk (discontinued) December 6, 2021 at 2:15pm

  • Kristy: Nest Cocoa Woods is actually on my holiday wish list. 🙂 I had it a few years ago and have since ran out (I still sniff the empty roller ball). When I wore it, I went to a weekly bible study. Smelling it brings back joyful, warm memories I of the wonderful ladies I got to know during our studies.

Yes, you may certainly contact me via email, and may share it with Leslie. Thank you both for this lovely giveaway! December 6, 2021 at 2:32pm

  • Sheryl Nance-Durst: Leslie: What a generous gift! Thank you!

    1. I’m just a beginner when it comes to fragrances, so I haven’t experienced a lot yet. But the scents that evoke the best memories for me are spices (especially cinnamon and cloves) and vanilla. That reminds me of my family cooking for the holidays. Being a beginner and trying to start off with my budget in mind, I read reviews and bought Kenzo Jungle L’Elephant (on its way) and Cremo Spice & Black Vanilla – which I am currently enjoying very much.

    2. The biggest one on my wish list right now is Ivory Route from Xerjoff. I mentioned that I was craving spice, right? 😉 I got a sample and fell in love. Out of my price range at the moment, though.

    3. Yes, of course you can contact me via my email.

And an extra thanks to everyone who is commenting. As a beginner, I am getting so many ideas for my sample ordering list! December 6, 2021 at 2:38pm

  • Jackie: The discontinued Jungle Gardenia by Tuvache always evokes the holidays for me- my mom would always get a bottle for Christmas! It is a funky true gardenia scent, that I’m always on the lookout for some to give to her.

This year, Phoebo Odor de Rosas is on my list. I just love unisex cologne, and this one sounds like fun.

Yes, you can contact me by email December 6, 2021 at 3:17pm

  • MMKinPA: Thank you Leslie for the generous giveaway!
    1. I love ambers, woods and spicy in winter. One of my favorites: DSH/The American Perfumer Colorado, which smells like the Rockies during ski season to me. (Limited edition, unfortunately!) I also love Teo Cabanel Alahine and L’Occitaine Eau des Baux in the winter.
    2. Yes you may contact me. December 6, 2021 at 4:14pm

    • MMKinPA: Forgot my wish list – Nicolaï Ambre Cashmere Intense is up there, especially as they offer 30ml. I don’t buy many big bottles these days. December 6, 2021 at 4:15pm

  • Laurie Hall: What a great giveaway.
Mine goes way way back to highschool. If I think back to the holidays during that era, I can smell Rive Gauche. That olfactory hallucination is bittersweet. A classmate gave me a spritzer for Christmas. I was also dating a boy that I was so in love with-and still carry a bit of a schoolgirl crush. I don’t recall if I particularly liked the fragrance, but the memories of spending winter weekends with him, Christmas parties, winter galas, exchanging presents, and his scent of RL Polo makes my heart ache. 2. Fragrance on my Christmas list is Bvlgari iris d’or. 3 yes. December 6, 2021 at 5:21pm

  • Theresa: Dear Leslie, what an exciting offer! thank you for your generosity.

There are a couple of scents that I associate with specific holidays, as I have the custom of dragging them out specially for that occasion.

For Thanksgiving I always put on Bulgari’s Omnia. It is soft and cozy. Goes with Turkey and the laid back vibe of the day!

And for New Year’s Eve, I always get out my Chanel Cristalle. It is exciting and effervescent – just like my hopes for the new year.

For my Christmas present this year, I have dropped some heavy hints to my husband, about how I am nearly out of my bottle of Farnesiana and was hoarding the last drops carefully! I also would like Papillon Artisan’s Salome. I’ve gone through a couple of tester vials and think I’m ready to spring for a FB. We’ll see!

Yes, you may contact me if I should be so lucky as to win. Thank you! December 6, 2021 at 7:32pm

  • rickyrebarco: Thank you, Leslie! Frederic Malle’s L’Eau d’Hiver feels most like winter to me. But, in winter I like warm, ambery, spicy and woody scents like Lutens’ Chergui and Ambre Sultan both of which I have worn this week. Yes, you can contact me via email. Thanks again. December 6, 2021 at 8:20pm

  • Madelyn E: Hi. Thank you both for your thoughtfulness.
My winter fragrance memories are inspired by Chanel Bois Des îles and Guerlain
spiritueuse double vanille. My wish list includes the original Alaia Paris perfume .
You may contact me via email ~
Happy Scented Holidays, Joyeux Noël .🎄
    Madelyn E. December 6, 2021 at 8:32pm

  • Emily: Thank you for another generous giveaway! ADP Cipresso di Toscana smells like a pine forest in December to me, while SMN Melograno is on my holiday wish list. Of course, you may contact me and share my email. December 6, 2021 at 9:44pm

  • Christina Goebel: Happy Holidays, Victoria and friends, Like other readers here, I love conifers in the holiday season. I can remember one grandmother wearing L’Air du Temps and the other wearing Emeraude and Tea Rose during the holidays. This year, I requested the Imaginary Authors sample set (am crazy about Slow Explosions and Cape Heartache already) and Mon Guerlain. Lately, Serge Lutens Five O’Clock Au Gingembre is making holiday memories for me. Christopher Sheldrake is such a talented nose! You may of course contact me. December 7, 2021 at 4:42am

  • Marie: Thank you for such a generous give-away Leslie and happy holidays to everyone! My favourite (or maybe most evocative?) holiday scent is Dark Amber & Ginger Lily by Jo Malone. The second I smell it, it sends me to a land of cream woollen jumpers, long walks in crisp winter air and drinks by a pub fireside. It’s so warm and enveloping, like a luxury department store (Libertys of London) in the run up to Christmas. This year, Hermes Eau des Merveilles is on my list because it reminds me of a specific year in my youth and I want a little bit of my old adventurous spirit back. Of course my email address can be shared if I’m lucky enough to win. December 7, 2021 at 3:57pm

  • Lilion: 1. As the weather is getting colder in the past few weeks the scent that’s been keeping me warm and cozy is Shalimar. Both the EDP and the EDT concentrations have been helping me get through the cold gloomy days. I put it on as soon as I get out of bed in the mornings to get a boost of confidence, and I absolutely enjoy wearing it to bed at night. Shamilar to me is winter time warm skin comfort scent, almost like how a home cooked comfort meal can make you feel. It is suprising how a fragrance that is almost 100 years old can make you feel so safe and comfortable today. 2. I am looking for a vintage bottle of Shalimar Extrait this holiday season, hopefully I can find one before the weather warms up again :). 3. Yes, you can contact me via email and share my contact info with Leslie. December 7, 2021 at 5:20pm

  • Gayle Elizabeth: Oooh, this is fun! Thanks so much for this giveaway and the conversation starter!

For me, Estee Lauder powerhouses like Youth Dew, Cinnabar, and Spellbound always bring winter to mind.

In my younger days, I worked for Lauder, and the holiday gift sets and blockbuster orders brought out the masses. Every Christmas season, the sparkly cinnamoned Spellbound, opulent Cinnabar, and thick, cola-sweet Youth Dew were over-sprayed by the elderly, nose-blind, brand-faithful shoppers who could likely no longer smell their signature scents, but clung to them anyways.

Through the folly of youth, I dismissed these fragrances as old-fashioned, and never owned any of the fragrances I repped at the time, effective their younger fare. Now, I am nostalgic and more adventurous. I own several of these classics now, and can finally appreciate their subtleties and charms, especially when the cold sets in. They bring winter and the chaos of makeup counter life to mind each time I smell them.

My holiday wish list fragrance this year is Andy Tauer, Une Rose Chypree (though it appears Mr Tauer is unlikely to have a batch ready any time soon).

And yes, please do feel free to contact me and share my email address! December 8, 2021 at 12:47am

    • Emily: Oh, do I feel your pain but found one place that still carries decants of Une Rose Chyprée if that’s helpful: fragrancesline[dot]com

Until recently they had 6ml portions but now it’s down to 5, the secret’s getting out I fear. December 8, 2021 at 1:41pm

  • Olga: Thank you for this generous giveaway, Leslie (and thank you for the blog, Victoria!)!

Sometimes the fragrances with “winter” in the name do not invoke the heart of Winter for me. For instance, L’Eau d’Hiver for me can be called “Aguas de Marco” and invoke the first days of March.

However, Yvresse had always invoked Winter for me because when I spray it I see a picture of a beautiful laughing girl in a wintry scene. Fur coat, rosy cheeks, snowflakes twirling. I know that the scent was never supposed to represent Winter (although the link between New Years and Champagne can be pretty much at the surface) but for me it does.

Chanel #22 is another scent that invokes winter for me.

I would love to find a vintage bottle of either one of those under my tree. My friend though is dreaming of “F_ Fabulous” under his tree so maybe I can help him if I am the lucky winner 🙂

And yes, feel free to contact me by email and share it with Leslie.

    Thank you! December 8, 2021 at 2:34am

  • Tammie Holland: Thank you for your generous giveaway! For winter I think of Theorema by Fendi, also Bandit, Cuir de Russie, Chanel and Vanille Galante by Guerlain. Yes you may contact me by email. I hope you have a lovely winter season! December 8, 2021 at 2:52am

  • VerbenaLuvvr: How kind of you Leslie!

For me, scents such as Solstice Scents Snowmint Mallow and Farmhouse Fresh Fluffy Bunny, with their crisp mint notes, remind me of playing on the enormous snowbanks that used to surround our house when we lived in the far north latitudes as a child.

On my wish list this year are Dusita’s Anamcara and Midnight in Chiangmai.

Yes, please contact me via email.

Happy Holidays All! December 8, 2021 at 11:30am

  • Laura Pyka: Arabie by Serge Lutens reminds me of winter season baking… just warm and yummy.

Tom Ford Bitter peach is on my wish list.
Yes you can contact me through email. December 8, 2021 at 1:00pm

  • madtowngirl: Thank you for the giveaway!
    1. Casmir is my favorite scent this time of year.
    2. Molton Milk Musk is on my wish list. So cozy.
    3. Yes you may contact me and share my email.
    Happy Holidays! December 8, 2021 at 6:08pm

  • Iolanda: For me, a fragrance that evokes winter memories is Elie Saab Eclat d’or, maybe because of the orange, honey and patchouli notes, maybe because its opulence reminds me of the Christmas time.
In my wishlist there is La fille de Berlin by Serge Lutens and many others.
Yes, you can contact me via email and thank you so much for the giveaway.
Happy holidays all! December 9, 2021 at 7:09am

  • eva: –Lutens 5 o’clock au gingembre
    –wishlist Hermes Eau de Merveilles
Yes, of course contact is ok! December 9, 2021 at 9:39pm

  • Larisa: 1. Lancome Tresor because it was my first grown up scent, I got it for my birthday which falls to the beginning of the winter season.
    2. I would love to get a bottle of the Guerlain L’Instant pure perfume or Samsara pure perfume circa 1995
    3. Yes of course December 10, 2021 at 1:20am
