Chanel Chance Perfume Giveaway

Today have a generous giveaway made possible by Bois de Jasmin’s reader Annette. She would like to give away a full bottle of Chanel Chance, EDP, 3.4 ounces (comes with a box, almost full.) She can send her package anywhere in the US (sanitized and well-wrapped, of course).

We are not responsible for leaks or damage during transit or for lost packages.

Annette says, “I received Chance as a gift from a colleague, but it doesn’t suit me. So I would like to find a new home for it.”

To participate, please answer these questions. I will randomly draw one winner.

1. Annette would like to find out what strategies do you have to improve your mood during winter. Do you have favorite scents that boost your spirits?
3. May I contact you via email to notify you of your win and share your email with Annette?

The contest is now closed. The winner is Delfine. Congratulations! I will notify the winner via email shortly.

I would like to thank our entire Bois de Jasmin community for your generosity and kindness, whether it means giveaways like this, advice or comments.

  • Tara C: I use multiple strategies to improve my mood in winter: get outside as much as possible, especially whenever there is sun; vitamin D and magnesium supplements; and wearing my favorite incense and gourmand perfumes. Snuggling with my dog by the fire and sipping hot tea are good too. Thank you for the drawing! January 30, 2023 at 9:26am

  • Christie O: On those days when I feel these winter days dragging me down. I get out my “Happy Light” from eBay, spray some light citrusy summer fragrance and read a travel magazine for 20 minutes. It makes me feel like I have a big trip coming up even when I don’t. 🙂

Feel free to contact me by email. Thanks for the giveaway chance. I appreciate your willingness to share. It’s contagious! January 30, 2023 at 9:35am

  • Shoshao: I’m with you, Tara, getting outside, if possible in nature, is a good thing to do to keep the mood up in winter. Also real fire in the form of lighting candles or bonfires. As I have no fireplace in my appartement, sometimes the youtube fireplace is crackling.
Huggings friends and family, human or with paws.
Chopard Casmir when I am alone.
    Hot chocolate in various forms.

Chanel Chance is not for me either. Thank you for the generous offer, i am out 🙂 January 30, 2023 at 9:36am

  • Patricia Maccaro: In Winter, I keep lights on in daytime & lots of candle light in evenings, while outdoors I seek a sunny spot, stand there a few moments & drink it in. Lots of hot tea, scarves around me neck.
Any woodsy, pine scent, whatever smells Christmasy is nice in the winter.
You may surely contact me via e-mail and thanks for offering this Giveaway! January 30, 2023 at 9:40am

  • Patricia Thompson: These times are filled with so much uncertainty that fragrance has filled the world with hope and inspiration by SCENT. This WINTER color’s, bright color’s fill my space to increase happiness. So, decorating my home with beautiful color’s. I find myself reaching for foral’ fragrances to brighten my mood! And yes share with Annette. Thank you for this opportunity with Chanel which I love…Thank you both. January 30, 2023 at 9:50am

  • Aniko: I am ineligible because I live in Europe but I thought I would share my favorites.
    1. I try to keep my environment as comfortable as possiblle. That includes keeping my room/office at a reasonable temperature. I am disabled by arthritis so do not get out very frequently but try to replicate the experiences I may miss during the winter. It means I listen to my favorite pieces of music and watch my favorite ballets. I decorate with pieces that please my eyes. Since christmas is my favorite season I keep small wreaths and hanging ornaments even in the fall and up to spring. Smells are important too. A nice chai or scottish caramel tea always makes me happy.
    2. About winter scents I am particular to Crabtree & Evelyn. Their discontinued Noel oil (of which I still have two half vials) is something that can make me smile even in the worst of times. They also have a wonderful spruce oil that is almost as good (for me) as Noel since I love winter and any pine or spruce scent. When it comes to perfumes I use cozy scents like Be 21, LouLou, L’Ange Noir, or even Poison because it always feels like a special day when I wear it not matter the weather or season. Winter is the perfect season to indulge yourself with good scents. In the kitchen and other parts of the house I use a blend I have made with woods, myrrh, spices like anise and cinnamon, a bit of vanilla, but not too much, some apple/pear, and plum.
    3. You are free to share my email address if Annette wishes to write me.
Thank you for the good and really timely questions (we are in that grey part of winter that drags on). I hope the winner will enjoy Chance.
    BR to everyone,
    Aniko January 30, 2023 at 9:51am

    • Wara: Aniko, have you tried Frankincense organic oil for the aches from arthritis? It is a great relief!!! Hope it can help❤️ January 31, 2023 at 7:41pm

  • Brigitte: Strategy is spending as much time with my cats to boost my mood. I enjoy warm musk and citrus scents in the winter. And yes, you may share my email with Annette. Thank you for this giveaway! January 30, 2023 at 10:03am

  • Jane: To boost my mood during the shorter days of North East winter I too get outside. If the sun is shining even better! Hot baths at night and that cozy feeling when I’m all wrapped in my robe are another way. After December 21 I love noticing the tiny increments of daylight lingering a little longer everyday.

This morning I spritzed Anais Anais from the bottle inherited from my mother over 10 years ago. The powdery floral notes instantly boost my mood.

Please email me if I am the winner! January 30, 2023 at 10:15am

  • Nubia Roque: Good morning, I have found out that in a gloomy day doing something for someone else really improves my mood, it can be something small like a phone call or an encouraging text, or it can be a visit somewhere that needs a small plant or a peptalk,
that has really helped me this winter.
Cheers everyone! take care and stay warm. Nubia Roque
    Los Angeles January 30, 2023 at 10:20am

  • Kristy: I try to make sure I get a certain amount of steps a day, blood circulation is important. Outside fresh air helps, too. I take Vitamin D to be sure my mood stays up.

I’ve noticed when my mood is lower, Origins’ Ginger Essence can help give me some zip. Any amber is warming and comforting.

Yes, you may email me. 🙂 Thank you both for holding this drawing! January 30, 2023 at 10:23am

  • Julie L Ellis: Well it’s a challenging time of year, but I find an extra hot chocolate with whipped cream on top, snuggly sweaters in shades of bright pink and coral help my mood. Also, floral scents of perfume remind me of gardens, flowers and my small indoor greenhouse helps a lot. You are welcome to contact me via email and I’d love to try Chance. January 30, 2023 at 10:33am

  • Frieda Fuchs: I typically wear a light and uncomplicated perfume meant for summer. I especially like Thé pour un été by L’Artisan Parfumeur. It’s subtle and delicate, yet it has a lot of personality- it has a good sillage, and is not a perfume that you can easily underestimate.

In addition, I go for a long and relaxing swim, take a cold shower, and then immerse myself for as long as I can humanly take it in the sauna!

Yes, please feel free to contact me. Or to share my info. Good CHANCE to all of us!

    Frieda January 30, 2023 at 11:02am

  • Frank masso: Taking my pup for a long walk on Ocean Parkway. That always lifts my spirits and my little baby loves it so much!
Ava Lux makes a Christmas scent called Madeline. Rum and cream and cinnamon etc. smells just like christmas! January 30, 2023 at 11:02am

  • rickyrebarco: I use similar strategies to others who have posted earlier. I get outside as much as possible, get exercise, burn lots of scented candles with spicy and resinous scents, keep in touch with friends, read good books (!), keep up with friends and wear fragrances that are comforting to me like Hermes’ Ambre Narguile and Xerjoff’s Lira. I also love incense fragrances in the colder drearier months, especially CDG Querzazate and Zagorsk and Frapin “If.”

Yes, you may email me if I win. thanks so much for this lovely drawing. January 30, 2023 at 11:12am

  • Robyn: I try to get outside as much as possible during winter months, it helps that I have a husky dog who would live in the snow if possible. I love incense and spicy fragrances, and bake a lot when it’s cold to keep my house warm and smelling nice.

Thank you for the generous gift, you may email me! January 30, 2023 at 11:40am

  • Renee: In winter I try to get at much sunlight and fresh air as possible. It is important for me to keep up with exercise and walking, but also I remember that winter is a time to rest and recharge for the warmer months to come. Thank you for the giveaway and you may share my email address. January 30, 2023 at 12:17pm

  • AB: I like comfy scents in the winter. Lolita Lempicka does that for me. Reminds me of licorice and bakeries. Yum. You can email me! January 30, 2023 at 12:30pm

  • Maggie Wihnyk: Like a cat scent is immediately the sign of good health for me. A fragrance on the skin is as important as in it is with food. In the winter I long for strong citrus as well as spicey in both. A hot curry for peace of mind and grapefruit for my olfactory senses. Tom Ford’s Neroni always warms my heart letting me think of sweet Italian days. Thank you for this wonderful chance to view everyone’s answers and to possibly win the giveaway. January 30, 2023 at 12:46pm

    • Maggie Wihnyk: please feel free to share my email and edit the perfume as Neroli Portofino January 30, 2023 at 12:52pm

  • Candice: Thank you for this opportunity to win a bottle of Chance – a long time favorite, I haven’t owned a bottle in years as I branched out, but I’d love to have it again.

Of course, beautiful scents around the home lift my spirits. Nice candles, incense, even a pot of oranges and spices boiling slowly helps. Lately I’ve become fond of sweet Japanese plum incense. This year a friend bought me a huge Pendleton blanket for the couch. It’s a full queen size, but I use it on the couch. My little dog, my son and I can all fit underneath while we watch tv, and it makes it so snuggly and cozy – so much better than the little throws that are popular.
I have been keeping a journal about things I’d like to bring into my life for the new year, and things I’d like to release. Winter is a time of contemplation and releasing before bringing in the fresh, Spring energy, so it has helped me align my mood with the best of what the season has to offer. I hope you find some helpful strategies! Please feel free to e-mail me 🙂 January 30, 2023 at 1:45pm

  • Aida: Lovely Annette, what boosts my spirits in winter is walking briskly, even in the bitter cold. It just makes me feel as though I am briskly abandoning my problems and leaving them behind. My journal is also my bff, for it houses all that I may not be able to share with others. In terms of scent, in the winter I love:
    Serge Lutens, Chergui
Kilian, ‘I don’t need a Prince by my side to be a Princess’
    Louis Vuitton, Matiere Noire
Maison Margiela, Replica- By the Fireplace.
And yes, you are more than welcome to email me with good news that I have won 🙂
Sending so much love to everyone, during the days that feel too long, too cold, too painful and just too much 🙂 January 30, 2023 at 2:52pm

  • Jennifer Mariel Shaw: I do my best to lift my spirits in Winter by wearing certain perfumes as well as using certain candles to help. Living in Portland,Oregon is quite a bit different than living in the San Francisco (CA) Bay Area.(That is where I have lived for most of my life.) It’s quite cold and often rains throughout the days& nights- very, very dark days and nights.
I really have mostly been wearing one of my all time favorites, L’air du Temps(Nina Ricci) as well as a bit of Hadrien ( Annick Goutal). Since I have been dealing with an asthma flare throughout this Winter, I have not been able to wear anything heavier- Serge Lutens Cherugi as well as Hermes Terre d’ Hermes. Would love to try a new fragrance, at this point in time. I absolutely love Agraia Mediterranean Jasmine candles as well as their oil diffusers. The other candle that brings me joyous feelings is from Thymes -Fraiser Fir. Reading all kinds of literature, cookbooks and watching wonderful silly movies help out so very much! Playing with my boyfriend’s Chihuahua mix dog helps, too! Winter is challenging for me also due to having undiagnosed SAD. Thank you for offering this wonderful opportunity. January 30, 2023 at 4:56pm

    • Jennifer Mariel Shaw: Annette-absolutely, please feel free to email me! It has been a difficult winter for so many throughout the world this year. January 30, 2023 at 5:01pm

  • Daniela Kostadinovska: I live in Arizona so there’s no real winter here; it’s more like a long Fall season, lots of sunny days; it’s just cooler in the morning and when the sun goes down. So visiting Arizona during the winter months would definitely improve anyone’s mood. I grew up in four seasons, though, so I sometimes miss a real winter. Jo Malone’s Pomegranate Noir is my favorite mood improving scent during the winter months, cozy, uplifting, and comforting. Chance is an old friend that I would love to have in my life again. Thank you for your generosity, and, yes, you can use and share my e mail. Thank you! January 30, 2023 at 6:52pm

  • joan ramirez: To boost my mood I use lavender spray and read from favorite passages in a historical novel from one of my favorite authors. Then, I meditate. January 30, 2023 at 7:39pm

  • Yafo: I just try to be in a good mood even with the sun gone earlier in the day. Thinking in a “thankful” way helps and looking forward to warmer weather or a vacation also helps. But doing the best you can in the present will bring goodness. One day at a time and you have to make the most of it.
I love citusy scents anytime of the year but I also love all my perfumes and candles cittus or not. So I rotate throughout the week and today I chose Si Passione by Armani. A nice fruity floral scent but so sensual and unique at the same time.
And of course you can contact me! January 30, 2023 at 9:45pm

  • Tiffany Thiele: What a treat to read everyone’s suggestions to make winter easier. I feel like I’ve already won a great gift just by reading all the wonderful suggestions! Here are a few of mine…
    1. Peruse garden catalogs to dream about possible upcoming spring gardening ideas.
    2. Visit a botanical garden. Many have plants blooming in winter that have scent. Sweet Box is currently blooming here where I live near Seattle. Daphne Odura is about to bloom next month.
    3. Get a small house plant to nurture.
    4. Make a ritual of lighting candles as dusk approaches each evening.
    5. Embrace the quiet, reflective nature of winter.
I would welcome an email from Annette. What a generous offer that she wants to share with our community.
Wishing everyone a lovely winter filled with fragrance.✨ January 31, 2023 at 12:14am

  • matty1649: I’ve loved reading all the suggestions for surviving winter. Wrapping up in a cosy fluffy throw reading. Wearing a spicy perfume. Lighting lots of candles.
I’m in the Uk so don’t qualify for your very generous draw. January 31, 2023 at 6:23am

  • Elizabeth: I light beeswax candles, enjoy the scent of mandarin oranges and Constant Comment tea, and get out into the limited daylight for a walk every day I can.

Please feel free to contact me and share my email with Annette, and thanks to both of you for this opportunity! January 31, 2023 at 1:22pm

  • Wara: In my 20’s and 30’s I danced in an Indigenous dance group and all over town on Fridays and Saturdays. I had not danced or worked out in more than twenty years. After a bad fall in May, I felt horrible. My daughter had been encouraging me to work out for many years. In September I began going to the gym Monday to Friday. Two of those days, we have Zumba dance class. My body and my mind thank me every day for the opportunity to feel healthy again. I had to give up choral singing due to the virus. That was my way of enjoying winter. The creative activities fill our souls, mind and body with joy and health. I also light candles daily as the night arrives and keep my Christmas lights on through January and February. Love oud scents which I buy in different small businesses owned by Middle Eastern families. The names are written in Arabic and all of them are exquisite. January 31, 2023 at 8:11pm

  • Roxann Wiebe: To lift my mood in the winter I like to bake bread. Exercise always helps as well. I wear fragrance everyday, to lift my mood I like rose perfumes. Santa Maria Rosa Novella is lovely to remind me of the upcoming spring. I just sampled Mediterraneo by Carthusian and love it, going to purchase it this weekend and of course I won’t be able to wait for spring to wear it. I’m sure that will lift my mood. Yes, feel free to share my e mail with Annette. How very kind of her to pass this on. February 1, 2023 at 1:17am

  • Jacquelyn: 1. Annette would like to find out what strategies do you have to improve your mood during winter:

As a lifelong Floridian, Winter is a blessing lol. I relish the opportunity to wear cute boots and feel the crisp, chilled air. lol .

    2. Do you have favorite scents that boost your spirits?

My current fave is Floraiku I Am Coming Home. What’s more soothing than a fresh tea scent? It gives me a deep sense of comfort and happiness.

    3. May I contact you via email to notify you of your win and share your email with Annette?

    Of course, 🙂 February 1, 2023 at 3:58am

  • madtowngirl: Thank you for the giveaway!
Taking a walk with my earbuds in listening to good music definitely improves my mood. If the sun is out, we’ve had mostly gray days where I am this January. I’ve also recently purchased some plants, both for my home and for my office. Just their greenness and taking care of them make me happy. Also self care. Last week I had a self care Friday with a massage in the morning and a movie in the afternoon. Just a day to myself, it was lovely.
    Sandalwood perfumes boost my spirit.
Yes! You may contact me by email and share my email. Thank you! February 1, 2023 at 3:26pm

  • Theresa: I find that making time every day for a walk outside (no matter the weather – unless it is pure ice, of course!) is essential to my mental health. On my walk, I don’t listen to podcasts or music or anything – just look around at my environment and try to find a few things to actively enjoy and appreciate and be grateful for. For instance the pattern of looking up through the leaves at the sky – or whatever.

I do tend to favor cozy scents in the winter. I like Ligea and Aria di Capri by Carthusia, among many others!
Yes you may contact me, if I am so lucky as to be chosen. February 1, 2023 at 5:27pm

  • Lauren: How exciting, and how kind of Annette!

    1. To improve my mood during winter, I have been spending time in a heated pool at a local health club. I accompany my friend who is a member as a guest, and we talk out our troubles while floating in the luxuriously steamy pool. But first, on the way there, I try to embrace the cold as much as possible so that there is a nice contrast when we reach the pool. Good music helps as well!

    2. A scent that boosts my spirits is Frederic Malle’s Lipstick Rose. I love the cozy, fluffy powderiness of it, and the rich rose/violet lifts my spirits! I have been wearing it to church almost every week since it got cold.

    3. Yes, please do contact me if I am the winner. 🙂

    Thank you! February 1, 2023 at 8:11pm

  • Amy: Thank you to Annette for the giveaway and also asking such an excellent question! I’m sure I’ll refer back to these comments from time to time for inspiration. Keeping my body in top condition ties in closely with my mood, so I try to get optimal sleep when possible and eat healthily. Also some type of cardio everyday, either listening to music while treadmilling or walking briskly with my standard poodle (who inspires me to stand as tall as possible!) For me light is an important mood booster, so getting outside when it’s sunny is a priority, as well as keeping whatever room I’m in well lit, with some extra grow lights here and there for plants. I also feel better if I meditate on a regular basis. Practicing piano usually gives me a sense of accomplishment, especially with a cup a jasmine pearl tea on the side.

I have recently discovered the mood boosting effect of wearing scents, and find this site to be a treasure trove of information and pleasurable reading. The scents I am liking most now are Piguet”s Fracas, Clinique Calyx, Hermes Un Jardin apres la Mousson, Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue, Bvlgari au The vert, Serge Lutens Bois de Violette, and Guy Laroche Fidji. Good luck to everyone in discovering new ways to boost your mood in winter! And yes, feel free to share my email. February 1, 2023 at 10:34pm

  • Denise: 1. I really struggle in the winter. I bought one of those lamps that mimics the light quality of sunlight and amazingly it does work. Super cheap on Amazon and it has such a big impact on my mood. I feel more refreshed, energized, and happy.

    2. I rotate around a lot, but I do love Guerlain’s L’Heure Bleue on a wintery day or Lalique’s Satine when cozy under the covers. I’ve been drawn to patchouli a lot this winter, too.

    3. Yes, you may contact me via email and share my email with Annette

Thank you both for the opportunity! February 1, 2023 at 11:23pm

  • Delfine: My strategies include hot chocolate, long walks wearing my favorite perfume, reading books to my daughter, cooking soups and stews. Not checking the weather to be pleasantly surprised if it’s sunny.

Yes you may contact me. February 2, 2023 at 4:07am

  • Anna Kullgren: I find that we perceive the winter outside as far darker than it actually is. Going outside perks me up immensely! I love the nostril-tingling smell of the cold coming, and the earthy scent of damp earth and decomposing leaves. Looking at plants in the winter garden is always encouraging – buds swelling and next year’s growth emerging. As for perfumes, winter tends to be the time I order tons of samples I’ve never tried before, trying to get better at distinguishing the various ingredients. I amuse myself by trying a different one each day, sniffing myself incessantly, if it’s to my liking. My favorite out of my last sample batch is Le Jardin de Monsieur Li from Hermès. In summer, I have the luxury of having some very fragrant flowers in my garden. Thank you for hosting the giveaway! Grateful to be part of it. February 2, 2023 at 9:09am

  • Sapphire: To boost spirits in the winter, I try to get outside as much as possible on sunny days. I try to exercise really regularly and keep my sleep times as consistent as possible.
Favorite winter scents are mostly vanilla and spice heavy. Shalimar Millesime Vanille Planifolia and Millesime Tonka, Guerlain Cuir Beluga and Oriental Brulant, Chopard Casmir, Chanel Bois des Iles, Givenchy Organza Indecence.
Yes, you may contact me. February 2, 2023 at 4:59pm

  • Ang: To improve my mood this winter, I have worn some summery, effervescent perfumes. And in the morning, I open the curtains and watch my neighbor’s cats attempt to hunt. The squirrels are in no danger and they know it.

Yes, you can share my email with Annette. February 2, 2023 at 6:41pm
