L’Artisan Parfumeur Mimosa Pour Moi Perfume Giveaway

Today have a generous giveaway courtesy of Bois de Jasmin’s reader Lori. She would like to give away a nearly full bottle of L’Artisan Parfumeur Mimosa Pour Moi, 3.4oz (100ml). She can send his package anywhere, as long as the receiver assumes all responsibility for customs formalities.

Lori likes floral fragrances, but she doesn’t find that Mimosa Pour Moi is for her. “It was a gift from a dear friend and I kept it for a couple of years, but now I feel that it needs a new home and someone who will give it love. I would rather find something else for myself.”

We are not responsible for leaks or damage during transit, customs fees, or for lost packages.

To participate, please answer these questions. I will randomly draw one winner.

1. Please suggest a new perfume to Lori. “I like florals, but I have too many of them. Do you have a recommendation for a woody fragrance that a floral love would enjoy?”
3. May I contact you via email to notify you of your win and share your email with Lori?

The contest is now closed. The winner is Marianne. Congratulations! I will contact the winner via email shortly.

I would like to thank our entire Bois de Jasmin community for your generosity and kindness, whether it means giveaways like this, advice or comments.

  • Kimberly: Good Morning Victoria and Lori, I have a bottle of Mimosa Pour Moi so please do not put my name in the drawing. Lori, have you tried Gucci Guilty EDP Intense Pour Femme? It was released in 2022. To my nose it is an intoxicating tuberose with litchi and plum notes. In the base it features patchouli, vanilla and vetiver. It is a beautiful floral. The patchouli adds a woody texture and I detect a little amber in it also. May 5, 2023 at 9:29am

  • Deborah H: Hi! I am a floral lover as well and am currently wearing Tocca “Florence”, since it has a gardenia note and I love everything gardenia! As for a wood scent, have you tried Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt? On me it seems to be a fresh, light, woody scent. Should I be so lucky to win, I’d be delighted to share my email address with you. Have a wonderful day, Lori and Victoria! May 5, 2023 at 9:31am

  • AndreaR: Perhaps Jour d’Hermes? No need to enter me in the give away. May 5, 2023 at 9:36am

  • Maya: Hi Lori,
I am also a lover of florals and lately have been gravitating towards more woody scents.
Please feel free to contact me if my name is drawn.
For iris with a woody undertone, nothing really beats 31 Rue Cambon. I suggest you spray it on clothes and give it at least an hour to develop. I find the dry down to be exquisite with iris, and a bit of a sophisticated patchouli.

Two other florals with wood intertwined are are the rose centric Eau Capitale (Diptyque) and La Fille en Berlin (Serge Lutens).

Sometimes when I want to wear my sans-wood florals and still have some wood in the mix, I combine them with the wood centric 10 Corso Como or with Kyoto (Comme des Garcons). Both combine beautifully with Jour d’Hermes and with Marni (the discontinued original).

Thank you for your generosity! May 5, 2023 at 9:41am

  • Hera Sukyas: Thank you Lori and Victoria.
I am a flower lover too , it would be amazing to win the Mimosa pour moi.
For Lori, i would suggest Bois d’Armenie.
You can contact me by email. May 5, 2023 at 9:46am

  • Anna L: Hi! When I think woody for floral lovers, I think of iris notes. I absolutely love Serge Lutens’ Iris Silver Mist and really wish I owned one myself. And the most beautiful wood scent I own and would truly recommend is Serge Lutens’ Féminité du Bois (as I also own the Shiseido original one, I must say something in me inclines more towards the modern version of this classic scent). I’d be happy to be contacted by e-mail, should I be lucky enough. May 5, 2023 at 9:53am

  • Melissa Anderson: I love florals, but I often struggle with modern woody notes. They often smell harsh and sharp to me. I just looked through my collection and a number of Serge Lutens perfumes that I own are woody or floral-woody. Féminité du bois, Bois de Violette, Bois et Musc, etc. I don’t find them too sharp.
I owned Mimosa pour Moi many years ago and I miss it! Yes, I can be contacted by email! May 5, 2023 at 10:44am

  • carole macleod: Hello,

I always love it when my email shows me there’s a new post here. I’ll answer the second question first: yes please contact me.

Now for the recommendation: what about Bois d’Hadrien, for a sophisticated wood note? It’s cedar over lime, and I completely love this scent. I don’t know why it didn’t seem to be more popular. I also really like Hermes Agar Ebene, another sophisticated wood scent. But the florals in the Bois d’Hadrien are super subtle, and I’m not sure there are any in AE.

    Thank you for thisopportunity,

    Carole May 5, 2023 at 11:08am

  • Joy Wheeler: Bois de Violette by Serge Lauren’s is a woody floral I like. Violet and its leaves always feel playful to me. The cedar is not intense but has a sheerness to it.

    Please yes, email me.

    Happy spring!

  • Cornelia Tersanszki: 1. I would suggest Rose Silence by Miller Harris.
    2. Yes, of course you can contact me by e-mail.
    Thank you. May 5, 2023 at 11:15am

  • Cornelia Tersanszki: 1. I would suggest Rose Silence by Miller Harris.
    2. Yes.
    Thank you. May 5, 2023 at 11:15am

  • Adrian: Perhaps you would enjoy Hinoki by Comme des Garcons, or something from Di Ser’s line? Yes, you may contact me. May 5, 2023 at 11:15am

  • Mingzhe Wang: Thank you Lori and Victoria! I think Bois D’Iris by The Different Company might be a good choice for a woody and iris perfume! Hermes Cedre Sambac is a perfect blend of cedarwood and jasmine! May 5, 2023 at 11:16am

  • Lori: Hello Lori, I would suggest Mizensir Bois de Mysore. It is a sandalwood fragrance, but lighter and more diffusive because of its nice floralcy. It wears beautifully on the skin and is not overpowering. I am a floral lover and enjoy this woody fragrance. You may contact me via email 🙂 May 5, 2023 at 11:24am

  • Sara C: Hi Lori!

    (1) I love florals too, and I recommend Neela Vermiere’s Ashoka for a floral lover who wants a woody scent. It’s also green and has a floral element, but to me it’s a sandalwood scent predominantly (many people say it’s a fig scent but I get more green + sandalwood than fruitiness). Philosykos is a green fruit fig that many people say is woody, though to me I don’t see it! Still, because many people say it’s woody, I recommend that (it appeals to me, as a lover of florals. If you like baroque classic florals, I recommend Dune by Dior for a woody scent; it’s breathtaking.

    (2) You may contact me via email. May 5, 2023 at 11:56am

    • Marianne Florian: Ah, Dune! What a stroke of inspiration. Wish I had thought of that. May 5, 2023 at 2:56pm

  • KatieAnn: Thank you for the lovely giveaway! I also prefer florals. However, I have found that I enjoy woody Hermes fragrances. I recommend Un Jardin En Mediterranee as well as Cedre Sambac. Chanel’s Bois des Iles is also beautiful.
Yes, you can contact me as well as share my email. Thank you again. May 5, 2023 at 12:12pm

  • Geraldine Ethen: I have a new scent for me, one that I think that Victoria recommended a while back: L’Attesa by Luca Maffei. I consider it a complex aroma, multi-layered. And satisfying.
Yes, you can use my email. Thank you, Lori, for this offer. May 5, 2023 at 12:14pm

  • Theresa: What a generous giveaway! I love mimosa and have several other fragrances already which I love (Farnesiana and Une Fleur de Cassie, I’m looking at you) so hope I win!!

Recommendations: I have been enjoying my set of 6 samples from Hove perfumers from New Orleans, especially Belle Chasse (carnation) and Fascinator (who knows, but somewhat woody). This is a fun & affordable way to try a variety of new scents and they come in darling little dram bottles.

Yes, you may contact me. May 5, 2023 at 12:14pm

  • Elena: Another vote for Feminite du Bois! I love the idea of Bois du Iles as well. I really came here to suggest the Serge Lutens… But perhaps Marni (in the polka dot bottle) would be a good choice as well? Please do contact me. May 5, 2023 at 12:28pm

  • Julia: I would love to participate in your giveaway! That’s so generous, thank you! I also recommend Serge Lutens’ Féminité du Bois or Bois Violette if you can find it. If you wish to try full on woods, no florals at all, I love Woody Mood by Olfactive Studios. I also just discovered a small artisan house in Utah called Pineward that bases his perfumes on woods. I just ordered samples so I don’t know how they smell (good reviews on Fragrantica) but it might be worth a look at his website as he has loads of woody perfumes. Yes, you may contact me :o) Julia May 5, 2023 at 1:09pm

  • Nina Z: Thanks for offering such a beautiful perfume for this giveaway! Besides Bois des Iles and the Serge Lutens recommended by others above, I’m going to recommend Ormonde Jayne Woman, which is a gorgeous black hemlock perfume. Hope the hunt for a woody perfume is fun!

Yes, you can email me. May 5, 2023 at 1:57pm

    • Marianne Parrish Florian: Ormande Woman is a truly great suggestion. Such an amazing fragrance! It’s at the very top of my wishlist and I think it would make a perfect choice for a floral fragrance lover looking for an alternative. Inspired! May 5, 2023 at 2:59pm

  • Billy Beyond: I would like to recommend Annick Goutal’s SABLES. Immortelle is a uniquely deep floral note and with a big dose of Labdanum this classic ‘80s fragrance delivers. Although it was intended as a man’s fragrance, I only know women who wear it! May 5, 2023 at 2:11pm

    • Marianne Parrish Florian: Two thumbs up for recommending Sables. May 5, 2023 at 3:00pm

    • Gnossiennes: Nice choice! May 5, 2023 at 3:46pm

  • kate: 1. thank you for the lovely giveaway! i would recommend samsara. also, i recently discovered cerruti 1881, an older scent, but a really beautiful woody floral. i am also a big fan of bottega veneta (which also has leather in case that’s a deal-breaker.)
    2. yes you may contact me by email. May 5, 2023 at 2:42pm

  • Elke Schmeling: Dear Lori and Victoria,
I’m wearing a woody floral today that I think is rather pleasing: Bois d’Iris by Van Cleef and Arpels (not the one by the Different Company mentioned elsewhere). It’s an easy to like fragrance with a less severe Iris and no harsh wooden notes to my nose.
I think a number of the Ormonde Jayne fragrances might also be interesting for you – for example, Ormonde Woman or Prive.
Thanks for the giveaway, Victoria, and feel free to contact me! May 5, 2023 at 2:43pm

  • Marianne Florian: Dear Lori,

How kind and conservation-minded of you to want to share this fragrance. Here are my responses to your questions:

    1. Please suggest a new perfume to Lori. “I like florals, but I have too many of them. Do you have a recommendation for a woody fragrance that a floral love would enjoy?”

My top recommendations for you would be:

    A. FlowerbyKenzo. I honestly don’t know why it’s called Flower, because the floral notes are definitely not the main feature. It’s an oldie but a goodie. Very effervescent for a woody perfume. Turin and Sanchez say it’s a reincarnation of Royal Bain de Caron.

    B. Super Cedar by Byredo is a simple rosy cedar that is very soft and comfortable and good in any season.

    C. You might also want to try the creamy woods of Narciso (or Narciso Poudrée, which is very powdery and sweet with the same creamy woody foundation).

    D. If you want something fresh as a spring rain, try Hermès Un Jardin sur le Toit. It’s not very woody, but it would still make a great alternative to a straightforward floral. It has a wonderful vegetal tartness and lasts a surprisingly long time on skin.

    3. May I contact you via email to notify you of your win and share your email with Lori?

Absolutely. Feel free to use or share my email. Was there a second question? I just saw numbers 1 and 3.

    Yours sincerely,

    Marianne Florian

  • Klaas: Hello Lori, what a fantastic give away! Please include me in this draw and yes, it is ok to share my email address.

Truth be told, I am not an expert on floral fragrances as I don’t wear many of them myself, but from the few I do know Samsara by Guerlain is all about exotic flowers over sandalwood. A classic woody floral. I also enjoy Cedre Sambac very much, but it is rather pricey…..

And what about Angelique from Papillon Perfumes? There’s mimosa in there, too, as well as some distinctive woody notes.

Or a rose oud combination? There’s tons of those around, and in all price ranges.

I hope you find something you like! May 5, 2023 at 2:55pm

  • Jean: Thank you another generous give-away. I, too, love woods and florals. A friend recently recommended Maison Francis Kurkdjian – Baccarat Rouge 540. I’m finding it to be a new favorite.

Yes, you may contact me by email and share my email.

I hope you find a new woodsy fragrance. May 5, 2023 at 3:25pm

  • Irina: Lori, try Amouage Material. This is the only woody perfume I enjoy among many florals I own. When I first tried it I was ready not to like it but its depth and warmth captivated me.
Yes, you may contact me via email.
I hope you are going to find what you are looking for. May 5, 2023 at 3:38pm

  • Johaboha: I would suggest Creed Royal Princess Oud. It is a beautiful, feminine floral with a very present backbone of presumably out – although that doesn’t come across to m at all as our, it reads like a nice woody backbone that is very smooth and creamy.

Leaving the florals behind completely – what about un Jardin a Cythère? I think a floral over would enjoy it because this creamy citrusy woody fragrance has a delicacy and airiness.

Yes, you may contact me via E-Mail. Thank you! May 5, 2023 at 3:49pm

    • johaboha: sorry for all my different misspellings of ‘oud’ May 5, 2023 at 3:51pm

  • Gnossiennes: Hi, Lori. Thank you for your kind giveaway.

As for the recommendations, I have three general ideas.

    A. Some general genres, such as chypre, fougere, or woody rose. These genres often combine the floral with the woody. There are dozens of masterpieces out there and very available.

    B. Floral themes that are leaned toward the woody facets. Billy Beyond above has recommended Sables by Annick Goutal. A great choice featuring immortelle. Another common theme may be iris, such as the rosy iris Le Cri (de la Lumière) by Parfum d’Empire.

    C. Some new interpretations on floral. This is also a very loose direction. I’d recommend two which come straight to my mind.
    a. Tubereuse Organique from The Zoo, signed by Christophe Laudamiel and Ugo Charron. The idea is to create a phantastic tuberose. But the perfumers believe any tubereuse absolute will ‘ruin the delicacy and natural element.’ So there is no tuberose extrait here. Instead, the perfumers create a gestalt of tuberose. Here, besides the common creamy and indolic BWF, you may also sense the green leaves, and some powdery dirt from the woody branch.
    b. Nebula 1 from Oliver & Co. by Oliver Valverde. Well, for me this one is hard to categorise. The idea is to recreate a photo in olfaction. So, basically, there are dozens of flowers and woody vibes; yet, they should not be perceived as themselves, but, for example, in the feelings of colours. (Sepia Collection from Olfactive Studio also leverages this idea. But personally, Nebula is superior in terms of creation.)

Hope you can find the ones you like 😉 May 5, 2023 at 4:11pm

  • Mark B!: Hi! Thanks for such a generous gift. I really like Terre d’Hermes, and even gave my bottle away as a wedding gift. You can contact me via email. May 5, 2023 at 4:24pm

  • Marianne: I think that anything with Iris would fit your tastes. Prada Infusion d’Iris is beautiful and I always get compliments on it.

  • Dawn: (You may contact me via email ! thank you ) May 5, 2023 at 5:05pm

  • Dawn: Ah I don’t know if my comment has posted so I’m trying again.
This is such a lovely giveaway my heart fluttered ! I’ve been wanting this fragrance for years but can’t afford it really.
I don’t have very niche recommendations but I do have a few you might like and I hope you will. Poeme is a warm, comforting, feminine yellow floral, deep and woody.. tocca has some nice woody florals if you like your florals airy and light.. if you love roses, Nina ricci has some gorgeous ones with a touch of depth.. also chance au fraiche by Chanel is a gorgeous spring scent with some top and base woody notes, some citrus and florals, such a classic! Also, Lyric woman by amouage is one of the most gorgeous profound florals I’ve ever smelled. I hope you like even one of these ! You may contact me by email and thank you so much for this dreamy lovely giveaway, mimosa is my happiness flower ! X dawn May 5, 2023 at 5:15pm

  • Perfumelover67: Thank you, Lori for such a generous giveaway!

    1. Some of my favorite woody scents that I recommend are: Comme des Garcons Kyoto, Serge Lutens Fille en Aiguilles, Sonoma Scent Studio Winter Wood and Tauer L’Air du Desert Marocain.

    2. Yes, I can be contacted via email and share my email with Lori. May 5, 2023 at 6:33pm

  • Maggiecat: I’m also a floral lover, and one of my new favorite Woody scents us Sandalwood Temple by Sana Jardin. It has a lightness to it (other notes are neroli and bergamot)

I wanted to suggest this but don’t need to be entered in the drawing. Good luck to everyone else! May 5, 2023 at 7:01pm

  • joan ramirez: Something with spice, cinnamon, and vanilla.
    Joan Ramirez May 5, 2023 at 7:35pm

  • Amanda M: Thank you for offering this generous giveaway, Lori and Victoria.
I would recommend highly the very beautiful and classic Samsara by Guerlain, Dune by Dior and the lovely Bois Des Iles by Chanel.
All stunning woody florals in their own right! I love and wear them all.

Yes, you may contact me via email. 😊 May 5, 2023 at 8:53pm

  • Brooke C.: 1. Please suggest a new perfume to Lori. “I like florals, but I have too many of them. Do you have a recommendation for a woody fragrance that a floral love would enjoy?”

I test new release perfumes from a few different indie houses, and just tested one that might be a good fit. It’s Honey Badger by Nui Cobalt Designs. The notes are: Black amber, raw honey, smoked maple wood, and cardamom-infused cream.

In the early phase of wear it straddles the gourmand line, but in the later phase it is a resinous delight. My persistent impression throughout the wear this translated to my nose as a floral spiced blend with a lightly smoked wood accent. The cardamom was not very prominent, so even if you don’t care for that note you might wish to try. Best of all, this is inexpensive and has excellent longevity, lasting over 11 hrs. on my skin. The sillage is moderately strong and lost lasting, and in the later phases was my favorite part of this perfume thanks to the bright, resinous amber that at times mimicked the character of a sunny, sweet floral.

    3. May I contact you via email to notify you of your win and share your email with Lori?

    Yes, please! May 5, 2023 at 9:35pm

  • Renée: Dior Oud Rosewood is one you may like! Yes you can email me. Thank you! May 5, 2023 at 10:24pm

  • Alica: Hallo, I would suggest Balenciaga Florabotanica, very nice and nowadays unfortunately hard to find fragrance.
You can contact me via e-mail, for sure.
Thanks for a wonderful opportunity. May 5, 2023 at 11:38pm

  • Claire Addison: Hello Victoria and Lori and thank you x
    You may email me yes!
I would suggest Rose Omeyyade from Atelier des Ors for a rose wood that’s just sweet enough. Also divisive Geoffrey Beene Grey Flannel for rainy day violets. Happy searching and sniffing x May 6, 2023 at 6:41am

  • Lora Wooten: Hello Victoria and Lori,
Thank you for bringing us such a lovely giveaway!
My recommendation is Orpheon by Diptyque.
I believe the only flower in it is jasmine but it is a beautiful, fresh fragrance with juniper. The vibe is chic and clean but modern and unique with a slight woodiness/smoky touch. I loved it immediately and wear it from spring until fall.
You may email me and thanks again! May 6, 2023 at 9:02am

  • renate labner: Hallo Victoria and Lori,
I would second some of the suggestions that have already been made, like Féminité du Bois and Bois des Iles. I also enjoy Dolce Vita by Dior, which has some similarities to FdB, but is a very different fragrance all the same, with notes of flowers and peach and a bit of sweetness (but not gourmand!). Since you are giving away a mimosa, you are perhaps not intent at getting a new one. Otherwise I might have suggested Mimosa by le Couvent des Minimes. There the mimosa comes with a beautiful cedar note.
I wish you the best of luck, Lori, with so many lovely suggestions.
I would like to participate in the drawing. Victoria, you may share my email or send me an email. May 6, 2023 at 9:10am

  • Mridula Koshy: hello and thank you for the chance, please include me in the drawing. With mother’s day drawing close Ive been thinking about the perfume I most want and it is woody and violet – SL’s Bois de Violette. I highly recommend it to Lori and anyone else who like the feeling of dark woods and scratchy sweetness which for me is a pleasurable characteristic of violets, the opposite of honey sweetness in so many florals. Yes to email contact. May 6, 2023 at 10:31am

  • CristinaM: 1. Santal Majuscule by Serge Lutens: sandal and deep rose. A woody throne for the queen of flowers.

    2. Yes of course!

    Thank you! May 6, 2023 at 12:30pm

  • Victoria: The absolute fab for woody/floral feminine fragrances is S.T. Dupont pour Femme (1998). My second chooice wold be Eau Parfumee au The Blanc Bvlgari.
For more modern feminine style – Ginza Murasaki Shiseido. May 6, 2023 at 1:32pm

  • Damiana: 1. I recommend Ruby Wood by the indie line Exaltatum. Beautiful blend of red berries, rose, and woods.

    2. I am happy with this!

Thank you for the wonderful opportunity. May 6, 2023 at 6:31pm

  • Notturno7: Thank you so much, Lori for this generous offer.
This has been on my wish list for few years and I was even hoping to win this particular perfume in the last giveaway! Silly me.
I love mimosa and brought a tiny little bouquet of it home few months ago when I found a tree on one of my walks. Loved burying my face in it! Happy feelings it brings.
I’d be happy to make you some samples of my favorite woody florals if I manage to win here, as white florals and florals in general are my favorites.
Some to recommend here, EL Gardenia Tuberose, EL Private Collection, Lutens Sarrasins ( jasmine / leather), Chanel 22, Fracas, Hermès -some of the Jardins collections, some vintage Patou or Vacances (lilac). Thank you for this! 😃 May 6, 2023 at 8:01pm

  • Nadhifa: I LOVE mimosa. But here are answers to your questions:

    1. I love florals too, especially Tuberose and jasmine. Actually not a fan of woody notes. The only woody scent that I like so far is matiere premiere’s bois d’ebene. It’s masculine leaning, VERY woody (guaiac wood),dry, weirdly comforting even though it’s pretty bold, smoky balsamic and sexy. Basically something very different from my preference. What draws me to this fragrance is that it kinda smells like a traditional Indonesian drink called “bandrek”. Bandrek is made of spices, milk and lots of ginger (though the perfume doesn’t have any of these notes at all). Some people say Bois d’ebene isn’t unique and similar scent has been done before, but for me it smells very unique. I’ve never met a person who wears similar fragrance! Another perfume from the same house that I recommend is santal austral. It’s feminine, chic and gourmand sandalwood. So light, airy, creamy and addicting. That’s a huge statement from me because I don’t even like sandalwood! 😅
    3. Yes , I’m willing to be contacted through email and to Lori, if you already try my reccs, please let me know how you feel about them 😆

    With Love
    N May 7, 2023 at 12:38am

  • Nadhifa: Ah I also forgot to mention radical rose. It’s also from the same house. It’s rose patchouli based perfume. Smells pretty sweet and jammy (very similar to the opening of frederic malle’s POAL, although radical rose is very linear imo). Sliiggghtly woody so I don’t know if it qualifies as woody perfume. Anyway, please check out matiere premiere ! The house is fairly new but they have so many great selections 😍 also samples are very affordable (I’m based in EU so 15€ for 3 samples , free shipping) and can be refunded through perfume purchase, which is a win 🥳 May 7, 2023 at 12:51am

  • C. Ruth Neudahl: Hello all, I am very new to collecting scents, but what I lack in knowledge I try to make up in enthusiasm. I am very fond of two parfumeurs out of NYC, created by a young couple, who bravely started their own company, Nomaterra. They use indigenous products to create signature scents from various U.S. cities. My favorites are New Orleans/Datura and East Hampton/Atlantic White Cedar. I too like florals, but these scents are are earthy and intense. Thank you for the opportunity. May 7, 2023 at 2:38am

  • Shelley: How generous!
I love florals and currently my favorite woody scent is Solario by Osmofolia. I would recommend it highly.
Yes you may contact me. May 7, 2023 at 5:40am

  • Aurora: With many thanks for this fantastic giveaway Lori and Victoria.

I can recommend Atelier Cologne Bois Blonds, I always enjoy it and, the confusingly also named Bois Blond by Pierre Guillaume/Parfumerie Générale, both are light woods and very good.

Yes, of course you can share my email. May 7, 2023 at 6:54am

  • deb: hi and thanks!!!
    1. elegant and suave Cartier Declaration d’un soir.
    2. yes!!! May 7, 2023 at 5:04pm

  • therabbitsflower: Thanks for the generous giveaway!

    1. You might try the new Hermes Un Jardin a Cythere and Anatole Lebreton Grimoire.

    2. Yes to both email questions May 7, 2023 at 8:41pm

  • Charlotte: Hi Lori, for summer or creating a summer feeling, I suggest Un Jardin sur La Lagune, by Hermès, which smells like lilies growing on beach wood. It is very salty so if you’re not a fan of marine notes, it might be best to steer clear 😀 Passage d’Enfer by L’artisan Parfumeur also has lilies and woods that smell like pencil shavings, with plenty of incense. I find it light and sweet.

For something a little darker/muskier, you could try Prada’s Infusion d’Iris or Dzongkha by L’artisan Parfumeur, both of which feature iris and woody notes and smell (to me) less classically floral.

Figue by Molinard is kind to the budget and very woody and citrusy with a touch of floral.

If you’re looking for classics, Samsara by Guerlain has a beautiful combination of jasmine and sandalwood. I find it very striking. And Chanel’s Coco EDT has lots of woods, florals, and spices.

If you’re wanting to steer clear of floral notes for a change, Timbuktu by L’artisan is very woody and green with vetiver. Santal Majuscule by Serge Lutens is very beautiful, sweet, and rich with sandalwood. Apparently it has rose but I barely notice it.

Hope you find something you love!

Yes to both questions, Victoria! May 7, 2023 at 9:41pm

  • Charlotte: Ps I was just reading back through the many brilliant suggestions and some that I know and would second are:
    -Sables
    -Dune
    -Wood sage and sea salt
    -Feminine du bois
    -Bois des Iles
    -Bois d’hadrien

And one more (for good measure) that I just thought of is Twilly by Hermes: sweet and spicy tuberose, ginger and sandalwood 🙂 May 7, 2023 at 9:55pm

  • Eric: Thank you Lori!

    1. Boronia by Grandiflora was my first thought. A bit mysterious with a boozy, woody, fruity mix. Just gorgeous to me.
    2. Un Fleur de Cassie is mimosa with much more depth and richness than Mimosa Pour Moi.
    3. Bois des Iles, the creamiest sandalwood with a floral heart to celebrate.

  • Abby: I don’t know why I feel this way, but every time I think of your question, I feel that you would like Tam Dao (Diptyque). Maybe I am just developing the habit of having a “spell” like other old ladies of years past, but there you have it, Tam Dao. You can email me if you like, but I have had an awfully good run of luck already. May 8, 2023 at 9:49pm
