  • Melissa Thompson: 1. The modern rose that I highly recommend is Radical Rose by Matiere Premiere. I too, have been on a search for the perfect rose for a few years. Besides the scent, I also appreciate this perfume house and their practices.
    2. A cozy (for me) perfume is BDK’s Tabac Rose (another rose recommendation!). Tobacco in a perfume is a comforting scent, and the addition of the rose just makes it even better.
    3. Yes, of course you may contact me and share my email with Victoria. November 3, 2023 at 9:11am

    • Bettina Douglas: I also recommend Radical Rose as a modern rose and Matiere Premiere as a perfume house. I wore Radical Rose last weekend, and my perfume was complimented. (I am not in the US) November 3, 2023 at 4:38pm

  • Patricia Maccaro: 1. First, thank you for your kind offer.
Little Note by Be Soliflore is a rose eau de
parfum that is light & smells like old
    fashioned wild roses.
    2. Guerlain’s L’Heure Bleue always makes me
    feel cozy & relaxed.
    3. Yes, you may surely contact me via email.
Fingers crossed and thanks again. November 3, 2023 at 9:19am

  • Peg Mastrianni: 1. My favorite rose fragrance is Jo Malone Red Roses. It is complex, so many layers.

    2. I don’t often think about scents in terms of being cozy/ relaxing but think that those that are vetiver-based come closest for me. I love Frederic Malle’s Vetiver Extraordinnaire even though it’s for men. Also Guerlain’s Vetiver is good but doesn’t last on me. And I used to wear Chanel no. 19 all the time.

    3. Of course!

    Thank you!! November 3, 2023 at 9:21am

  • Heather Chase: Good morning,
    1. I find Frederic Malle’s Une Rose fresh rather than too sweet. It smells like roses outdoors rather than processed. Aerin Lauder’s Rose de Grasse is also a modern rose fragrance, and Molton Brown’s Rosa Absolute is another clean, light rose.
    2. Cosy and relaxing: Carthusian Geranio, Tom Ford Black Orchid, Amouage Memoir, Arpege, Pure Musc by Narciso Rodriguez
    3. Yes, please contact me!
Thank you for this offer. November 3, 2023 at 9:24am

  • Elina Auzenberg: Good morning! Thank you for a kind give away!
    1) modern rose that I can recommend is Cafe Rose by Tom Ford. It’s reminiscent of the 90s yet has a modern and cleaner twist. I love the spiciness of a Turkish rose and the sweetness of Bulgarian flower and the amber notes on it.
    2) Habanita by Molinard is my go to for coziness and comfort. Smokiness and leather feels so warm and pleasurable on a a cold days.
    3) you can contact me and thank you November 3, 2023 at 9:38am

  • Marsi Mangan: I would recommend Ta’if by Ormond Jayne. It’s a stunner! Also, when it comes to rose, I think of attars.

My cozy scents are Guerlain Cuir Béluga and Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan.

Wonderful giveaway. Not only may you email me, Victoria, but I certainly hope you do 😉 November 3, 2023 at 9:38am

  • Jamie Metzgar: 1) Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin.

    2) Kenzo’s Indigo always smells like warm cashmere on a cold winter morning to me. Lost Cause by Phlur does as well.

    3) Yes, thank you so much! November 3, 2023 at 9:55am

  • Kaisa: 1. Diptyue Eau Rose for day, Amouage Lyric for night, Aerin Evening Rose for both/either.
    2. Diptyque Eau Duelle EdT, Maison Violet Un Air d’Apogee.
    3. I’m not participating in the giveaway. November 3, 2023 at 10:06am

  • Deborah H: Hi, and thank you for the terrific giveaway! I have been wearing rose scents for most of my life and here is what I am wearing lately:

    1. EAU TRIPLE DAMASK ROSE from Buly 1803, along with their HUILE ANTIQUE DAMASK ROSE. When you purchase from them they will handwrite a calligraphy note to you- it is truly special! The packaging is simply gorgeous as well.

For a modern rose you might want to try Montale Parfums: Intense Cafe, Rose Elixir, or Roses Musk. I’m not a fan of the packaging but the scents are gorgeous. They also offer a discovery kit.

    2. I purchased Roger & Gallet “Cassis Frenesie” in Spain and it brings me cozy memories of a wonderful time there. I LOVE the blackcurrent notes and it works well on my skin.

    3. Yes, thank you so much! November 3, 2023 at 10:12am

  • Jennifer Goldman: 1. I love Rose perfumes and have a couple of modern iterations to recommend: Marissa Zappas’ La Divina and Dusita’s Rosarine. La Divina, in particular, can be worn anytime for any occasion. I love the backstory of Marissa’s perfumes in general and Divina is no exception.

    2. Cozy and Relaxing for me is Kilian’s Woman in Gold. It’s a rose vanilla with no harsh edges. Smooth and opulent.

    3. Absolutely November 3, 2023 at 10:25am

  • OperaFan: I love the rose in Chamade so I would love to be in the drawing.
    1. My recommendation for a “modern” rose would be Diptyque’s Eau Capitale, which both looks forward and back. It’s a beautiful rose chyphre.
    2. For cozy and relaxing, I like Sonoma Scent Studio’s Winter Woods and Champagne de Bois.
    3. You may contact me should I be so fortunate.
    Thank you!

  • Sariah: Wow l live Chamade, fingers crossed

1 Modern rose. Stella McCartney. The original I’m the purple bottle. I hope it hasn’t been reformulated. It’s rose and sheer amber and one of my most complimented fragrance. And l just adore Neela Vermiere Mohur which is stunning – l think it bridges modern and classic, actually l would call it a modern classic. These 2 fragrances are very different. Stella is very wearable every day, Mohur is very grabs and l wear just a little bit

    2 Cozy. l’Eau d’Hiver by Frederic Malle. It’s like a cloud.

    3 Yes November 3, 2023 at 10:33am

    • Sheryl: The Stella Mcartney one has unfortunately been discontinued and is now selling for exorbitant amounts on the secondary market. 😢 November 3, 2023 at 10:48am

  • Shirley: Hello!

    1. I love rose scents! I have a very soft spot for Chloe EDP (for the young girl in me) but honestly it’s good for anyone at any age as long as you like it. I also love Frederic Malle Une Rose for the grown up in me.

    2. I love tea scents. I find them cozy & nostalgic.

    3. Yes please share my email with Valerie. November 3, 2023 at 10:36am

  • Zazie: Thanks for the giveaway!
    1. If you want a modern, unusual spicy rose fragrance: Niral and Mohur by Neela vermeire. If you want glamour and drama: Portrait of a Lady (Malle) and Radical Rose. If you want a lighter perfume that smells clean but not soapy, Kai Rose oil or Paris-Paris, the compliment magnet by Chanel. If you want a flirty rose: parfums de Marly Delina.
    2. Bois does iles and cuir de russie (Chanel), Bois d’armenie, neroli outrenoir, Guet apens and Shalimar (Guerlain).
    3. Sure!!!

    Thanks again. November 3, 2023 at 10:43am

  • Sheryl: How generous of her! Thank you, Valerie!

    1. Rose Ebene and Rose Ivoire from Caron are worth checking out for a darker and a lighter take on a modern rose. I also think Boucheron Rose d’Isparta is an under-rated gem. Classy rose with a bit of musk and a hint of cinnamon.

    2. My favorite cozy wear is BDK Gris Charnel Extrait. The EDP is lovely for spring and summer, but the extrait intensifies it and adds more woody notes, making it wonderful for the colder months.

    3. Of course, you can contact me if I win! November 3, 2023 at 10:43am

  • Josephine: Thank you for your generous giveaway of the magical Chamade!

    1. Une Rose by Frédéric Malle – Victoria describes it as “beauty with a sinister edge,” with its “utter lack of sentimentality and preciousness.”

    2. Narciso by Narciso Rodriguez and Twilly d’Hermes – both reminding me of romantic adventures from the associations of memory 🙂

    3. Yes thank you! November 3, 2023 at 10:49am

  • Allison C.: 1. DSH perfumes makes a rose fragrance called Damasq which is stunning, very full bodied and lush.

    2. Apres L’ondee and L’eau d’hiver are my comfort scents.

    3. Thank you for this amazing opportunity – I’m in! November 3, 2023 at 10:51am

  • C. Ruth Neudahl: 1. Miss Dior Eau de Parfum (2021) by Dior is a Centifolia rose, with honey and peppery notes. When I feel like being more youthful, I put on Miss Dior. The rose is light and a little citrusy.
For a stronger rose scent, I go with Nomaterra and their perfumes based destination fragrances made with indigenous ingredients; Cape Cod’s Wild Beach Rose is happily strident.

    2. Cozy? Again Nomaterra’s East Hampton ~ Atlantic White Cedar reminds me of a northern wood cabin and a fire in mid-winter. Love it.

    3. Yes, you have my permission to share my contact info. And thank you. November 3, 2023 at 11:20am

  • Dawn E Crawford: Rose of No Mans Land. Wonderful. Cozy perfume. Durga by DS & Durga. The light scent you get from the gardenia is lovely. Thank you for this amazing giveaway. I have worn Chamade since its release and am so sad that
Guerlain no longer offers it in the upside-down heart shaped bottle. You may contact me and I would love to win. November 3, 2023 at 11:29am

  • Renee: I recently tried Aerin Rose de Grasse Rouge. It is a true rose, like smelling a bouquet! Thank you for offering this. Yes, you can email me for my address. November 3, 2023 at 11:49am

  • Lisa: Hi Valerie,
I’m happy to enter this giveaway as I’m fairly new to the frangrance scene and have never owned a Guerlain scent…yet!
    1. My favorite modern rose is Le Labo Rose 31. I’m not a huge rose fan but do like this one.
    2. My favorite cozy scents tend to be light and delicate, such as Gypsy Water and L’Eau D’Hiver. I also like lipstick accords for the comfort and nostalgia, especially the late, great Lipstick On from Replica.
    3. I live in California and yes, you may contact me.
Thanks for this giveaway! November 3, 2023 at 11:54am

  • Aida: Hello to Valerie, Victoria & the entire Bois de Jasmine worldwide loving community 🙂
-For Rose scents, I really love Atelier Cologne’s Rose Anonyme- a softer modern rose.
Interestingly enough- the Olsen twins made a fragrance line named Elizabeth & James- Nirvana. It is a beautiful soft rose.
Lastly, and the one with the most staying power which lingers on and on, on my sweaters currently is
Rose Prick by Tom Ford. One of the most beautiful roses I have smelled lately without smelling like an overabundant rose garden.
-A scent that makes me feel extra cozy these days is the classic Chergui by Serge Lutens which is so frequently mentioned here.
May everyone be warm, cozy and joyful as the season turns 🙂
-of course you may contact me 🙂 November 3, 2023 at 12:08pm

  • Mika: I am a big fan of your terrific blog. 🙂

    Here are my answers:

    1. “Please recommend a modern rose perfume to me. I like flowers, but I’m not big on classics. Thank you in advance.”
Dom Rosa by Liquides Imaginaires comes to mind.

    2. What perfumes feel cozy and relaxing to you?
The current fragrance I find the coziest and relaxing for me is Milk by Commodity.

    3. May I contact you via email to notify you of your win and share your email with Valerie?
    Yes absolutely. November 3, 2023 at 12:10pm

  • BMC: 1. “Please recommend a modern rose perfume to me. I like flowers, but I’m not big on classics. Thank you in advance.”

A favorite modern rose is The Harmonist’s Metal Flower, which contains a few rose and metallic notes (rosoxydes), patchouli, aldehydes, ylang ylang, and orange blossom to give a unique metallic twist. This isn’t your grandma’s rose!

    2. What perfumes feel cozy and relaxing to you?

In this cooler season, I am tolerant of and gather comfort from compositions that I would consider skew more masculine. A favorite perfume is an amber woody gem I’d consider to be decidedly unisex, and one I purchased for my husband but borrow for myself: Meleg’s Canadian Gentleman. This hand-crafted composition from indie Canadian perfumer Matthew Meleg is so different from any department store colognes….it truly is unisex and to me like wearing a hug from a loved male relative. Matt describes this as containing the following notes: cedar wood oils from Northern British Columbia, fir balsam absolute, frankincense-cedar co-distillation, myrrh, benzoin amber, green leather accord dry down. On my skin, the dry down has a beautiful powder-like quality.

    3. May I contact you via email to notify you of your win and share your email with Valerie?

    Yes! November 3, 2023 at 12:19pm

  • Jennifer K: Hi Valerie, Thank you for this amazing giveaway!
    1. My favorite modern rose is an easy one, Le Labo Rose 31. It doesn’t really smell like a rose, more like patchouli, but there is a nice rose twist.
    2. Bottega Veneta is cozy to me. I also like anything with vanilla for a comforting feeling.
    3. Yes, you may contact me. November 3, 2023 at 12:20pm

  • Ann: How lovely, thank you for the chance

    1) Neela Vermiere Mohur, the almond is wonderful
    2) vanilla forward fragrances are very cozy
    3) of course! November 3, 2023 at 12:28pm

  • Rachel H: Thank you both so much for this giveaway!
    1. I love Montale’s Roses Petals or Queen Rose
    2. Tauer’s L’Air du Desert Marocain is my comfort scent
    3. Please do contact me if I’m the lucky one!
    Thank you ! November 3, 2023 at 12:29pm

  • Karen A: What a wonderful giveaway! Thank you Valerie and Victoria for this chance to win my all time favorite and sadly discontinued perfume!
    1. La Fille de Berlin is a beautiful beautiful rose that has gotten me more compliments than any other of my fragrances.
    2. Bois Des Isles extrait is my comfort scent (although it’s really a tie with Number 5 extrait).
    3. Yes to being contacted.
Again, many thanks for this! November 3, 2023 at 12:56pm

  • Kiwi: 1. If you like aromatic or green notes, maybe consider Route du Quai by Monsillage? It’s a marine balsamic rose with a ‘sweetgrass’ drydown which smells a bit like vanilla, hay and resins to me. L’Ombre dans l’Eau (Diptyque) would be my other suggestion if you can get past the very strong tomato leaf opening.
    2. My cozy scents are soft and clean with a bit of powder or florals, for example Noa (Cacharel) or Apres l’Ondee.
    3. I’m not participating, but wishing good luck to everyone! November 3, 2023 at 1:23pm

  • Tatiana Owen: May I suggest Rose Hubris by Ex Nihilo?

Amber calms me down and makes me feel good in winter. November 3, 2023 at 2:06pm

    • Tatiana Owen: P.S. Yes, of course — share my info November 3, 2023 at 2:08pm

  • Colleen Geary: Thank you for the lovely giveaway!

For a rose perfume, I recommend Frederic Malle Une Rose though it may have a new name of Rose Tonnerre.

I have two cozy perfumes to recommend. The first is Coco by Chanel and the second is Iris Poudre – another Frederic Malle.

Yes, I am happy to be contacted. November 3, 2023 at 2:19pm

  • JanetP: 1. No one has mentioned Fragonard’s Eglantine, which to me is the perfect rose — fresh and never cloying, heavy, or sickly sweet like so many rose scents can be.
    2. My cosiest scent is Annick Goutal’s Petite Cherie, which opens with pear and is so relaxing and soothing to wear.
    3. Yes, if I win, you may certainly share my information with Valerie! What a nice thing for her to do. November 3, 2023 at 2:30pm

  • Fazal Cheema: Even though original Stella by Stella McCartney is not exactly a new release, its composition does have that timeless vibe. EDP is the ideal concentration because I have heart EDT is a little more fresh and takes something away from the original rose composition of the EDP.

Vintage Eau Sauvage remains a fragrance that feels relaxing to me though I so wish its top ntoes would last much longer. I would also say Bvlgari Green Tea may also do that for some people.

Yeah, you may share my email and contact info with Valerie. November 3, 2023 at 2:38pm

  • Mridula Koshy: I love Marni Rose for its peppery but soft feel, which I think is a good modern way to do a rose. In so many other (beloved ) perfumes the rose is boldly glamorous in a more old fashioned way. I guess I like all renditions of rose.

Comforting perfumes for me are usually sandalwood based and SL’s Santal Majuscule

Yes please contact me and thank you for the chance. November 3, 2023 at 2:58pm

  • Klaas: OMG, what a stunning giveaway! I’d been eyeing a bottle of Chamade extrait for the longest time (my mom used to wear Chamade), and now it’s discontinued……I should have pulled the trigger before it was too late! Guerlain only continues the Shalimar extrait now….so this is very special…..

    1. I’m not a floral guy myself, and rose fragrances are not much on my radar, but I do love Rose Ikebana from Hermès. Its modern in the sense that it’s very much a soliflore (albeit with a raspberry twist), transparent and light. Not a long lasting smoldering rose…..and I remember Patricia de Nicolaï offering a few beautiful rose perfumes which could be interesting to explore.

    2. I second L’Air du Désert Marocain or it’s sister fragrance Au Coeur du Désert. Glorious, comforting and super, super cosy. Musc des Sables by Les Indémodables is also super warming and cosy, like wrapping yourself into a favorite cashmere blanket.

    3. I live in Holland, so alas…..no Chamade for me this time…… November 3, 2023 at 3:12pm

  • Audrey H.: Thank you for the generous offer, Valerie. My first choice was Balenciaga Florabotanica, but its not as easy to find now apparently. It seems to be discontinued. So I’ll go with Diptyque Eau Rose, to me its modern and so lovely.
Yes, you may email me if Im the lucky winner. November 3, 2023 at 3:52pm

  • Theresa: What a wonderful giveaway! Chamade is one of my favorite scents – I have it in the EDP and would love to try the extrait. Please count me in!
    1. For a modern rose, you might try Andy Tauer’s Une Rose de Kandahar or Incense Rosee. I also like Ballets Rouges by Olympic Orchids. All these are just beautiful and very rosy!
    2. For cozy scents, I keep going back to “Ligea” by Carthusia. Also Farnesiana by Caron. Or Chanel Coromandel. So warm and silky – like a big cuddle!
    3. Yes, you can share my contact info.
thank you again for this lovely opportunity! November 3, 2023 at 4:17pm

  • Cybele: 1. Moonlight Patchouli by Van Cleef & Arpels
    2. Tardes by Carner Barcelona and Sandalwood scents
    3. yes!
    Thanks very much, I love Chamade 🙂 November 3, 2023 at 4:19pm

  • Jonathan: 1. Rose is a tough note for me! Diptyque’s Eau Capitale is a modern take on rose-patchouli, it has retro-inclination but doesn’t have that ballroom grandeur that many classics demands sometimes.

Another rose I love is Galop by Hermes. It pairs a velvety suede with tart rose. It wears like a second skin and radiates assurance without coming off as icy.

    2. Immortelle and sandalwood! Sables by Goutal, or Santal Majuscule by Lutens.
    3. Yes. Thank you, I’ve been hunting for Chamade parfum for years! November 3, 2023 at 4:41pm

  • Ana S.: Hello and thank you for this wonderful giveaway.

    Answering in order:
    1. The moment i read “a modern rose” my mind went straight to Rosa Sacra by Frassaï, it’s beautiful, cristalline rose.
    2. The fragrance that most comfort gives me, all year around, is Sova by Slumberhouse – and i owe it to all the childhood memories its scent brings back with each wear.
    3. Yes, of course. November 3, 2023 at 4:57pm

  • Christine Kalleeny: 1. La Douceur de Siam is a romantic perfume centered on Mai rose and uplifted with champaca and seeped in amber. It is sensual and while harkening to classics, feels very sheer and modern.
    2. I love Kiss Me Intense by Nicolai. I bought it for myself after I was abandoned by a lover, after my divorce. I was crushed. I wanted to feel loved and beautiful again. It is a charming, playful white bouquet blended with heliotrope, and has the effect of a puff cloud of gourmandise. It makes me happy.
    3. Valerie is absolutely welcome to contact me. I am grateful to be considered for this gift. Perfume is always a comfort and joy to me in dark times–which sadly have been too many of late. November 3, 2023 at 8:25pm

  • Kathleen Smth: I adore the description of Chamad!
!) Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin.
    2) My favorite comfort perfume is Jeffrey Dame Duality
    3) Yes, of course. November 3, 2023 at 11:49pm

    • Tammie: 1) Aerin Lauder’s roses are fresh and modern.

      2) Poudre de Musc, Parfums De Nicolai is beautiful, airy then amazing Musc I find very comforting.

      3) Thank you for your generosity! Yes, you may share my contact information. November 4, 2023 at 2:00pm

  • Kathy: Thank you Valerie and Victoria, for this generous offer! Just this week, I tried Radical Rose by Matier Premiere and I am enjoying this woody rose. It has very good lasting power. I also quite like Clinique’s Aromatics in White, which not like the original Aromatics. I think it is an incense rose. I also thought of Kenzo Flower.
Flower is a modern, airy perfume that I liked right away, though I prefer chypres.
Perfumes that I smelled years ago comfort me. Many now are discontinued or changed, but I still like Estee Lauder’s Estee and Modern Muse, Revlon’s Ciara, and Guerlain’s Iris Torrefie. You may contact me and share my information. November 4, 2023 at 8:21am

  • Maggiecat: I can recommend both Rosarine (Parfums Dusita) and Lady Vengeance (Juliette Has a Gun) as beautiful rose based scents that I also find comforting (in spite of the latter’s fierce sounding name!).
You may share my info and contact me – and thanks for the generous giveaway! November 4, 2023 at 12:06pm

  • Lora: Thank you Valerie and Victoria for the giveaway!
    1) Hippie Rose by Heeley
    2) Spiritueuse Double Vanille by Guerlain
    3) yes, absolutely November 4, 2023 at 12:27pm

  • Elke Schmeling: Thank you Valerie for the generosity!
    1. Rose is a hard note for me – I love the smell of roses but not so much on me. Having said that, Galop by Hermes is a modern rose imo AND it’s in a beautiful flacon! Another modern rose that perhaps noone mentioned yet: Roses on Ice by Kilian.
    2. Cuir Beluga is very cuddly/easy comforting. For the holiday season, I also really enjoy Slowdive by Hiram Green – the honey note reminds me of beeswax candles.
    3. You may absolutely contact me! November 4, 2023 at 2:21pm

  • ursidae: Thank you for the opportunity! I love Chamade.

“Please recommend a modern rose perfume to me. I like flowers, but I’m not big on classics. Thank you in advance.”
I’ve really been enjoying Clinique’s Aromatics in White and Philosophy’s Ballet Rose.

    2. What perfumes feel cozy and relaxing to you? Lately I’ve been liking Estee Lauder’s Sensuous. It feels like being wrapped in a soft blanket.

    3. May I contact you via email to notify you of your win and share your email with Valerie? Yes 🙂 November 4, 2023 at 5:55pm

  • Sapphire: 1. Aerin Evening Rose for a rich, evening rose. For a light, daytime rose, Hermes Rose Ikebana.
    2. Comfort scents: Cuir Beluga, Carner Barcelona D400, and for something cheap, Nemat perfume oil Vanilla Musk.
    3. Yes, please include me. Thank you so much for such a generous giveaway! November 4, 2023 at 9:24pm

  • Roxann: What a kind giveaway. I’d recommend Ta’if by Ormonde Jayne. As far as cozy, I love Lana by Santa Maria Novella. Yes, you can share my e mail. November 4, 2023 at 10:42pm

  • David: 1. RÒS by Caswell Massey.

    2. Sweet Dreams by DSH Perfumes

    3. Yes, please contact me. Thank you for the opportunity! November 5, 2023 at 6:18am

  • Bastet: 1. My favorite modern rose is Serge Lutens’ Fille de Berlin.

    2. My favorite cozy perfumes include Guerlain Liu, Bond No. 9 Chinatown, and the original Botegga Veneta.

    3. Yes November 5, 2023 at 10:40am

  • Bastet: 1. My favorite modern rose is Serge Lutens’ Fille de Berlin.

    2. My favorite cozy perfumes include Guerlain Liu, Bond No. 9 Chinatown, and the original Botegga Veneta.

    • Baster: Sorry for the duplicate! November 5, 2023 at 10:43am

  • Andrew: Thank you for this opportunity!

    1. I think a good “starter” rose is Rose de Chloés. Other roses that I like include Le Labo Rose 31, Diptyque Eau Rose (I prefer the eau de toilette, eau de parfum is a little less streamlined for me), and Ormonde Jayne Ta’if.

    2. On a rainy day or in cold weather, one of my favorites to feel cozy is Comme des Garcons Scent One: Hinoki. Serge Lutens’ Santal Majuscule is an honorable mention for this as well. Finally, while I can’t speak to wearing it, one treat I like to give myself sometimes before my nightly shower is to scent the air of my bathroom with a few sprays of Estee Lauder Pure White Linen.

    3. Yes, you have my permission. November 5, 2023 at 1:21pm

  • Notturno7: Thank you, dear Valerie and Victoria,

I love La Fille de Berlin. Victoria gave it 5 star. It’s a lovely, ‘jammy’ rose with violets.
Tom Ford Cafe Rose is lovely w a modern feel.
I love Amouage Gold but it’s a classical perfume, full and multilayered like a symphony!
For cosy perfume feel, I wear Bellodgia, L’Heure Bleu, Mitsouko, L’Air du Temps, all pure perfume that stays close to the skin.
    Yes, please!
Here’s a BdJ webpage with notes, and you can scroll down for rose. Maybe you didn’t see it yet like me!!

    1. As a modern rose fragrance, I’d recommend Bud by Piper & Perro, a tart and luminous rose with a “concrete” accord.
    2. In terms of a favorite cozy and relaxing fragrance, I’ll go with Serge Lutens Clair de Musc.

  • Hilde: Hello everyone,

First of all I have a question myself to the readers of this blog. In 2020 I think it was, I have bought the eau de toilette of Chamade in the bee bottle (it was the period when Guerlain had changed almost all their botlles into the bee bottles) at ICI Paris XL. I hadn’t tryed it, because they had no tester in the store.
Some months ago I have given it away because I hav never liked the perfume. One word I have for it: ‘screeming’. It was not what I expected from Guerlain.

Are there othe readers of this blog who have the same experience with the recent Chamade edt ? It still exists, so it must have still success, I suppose.

For Valérie, I would like to recommend Diptyque l’Ombre dans l’Eau (I only know the eau de parfum version) as a modern rose perfume.

Some perfumes that feel cosy and relaxing to me are Yves Saint Laurent Cinéma, Rochas Tocade (especially in winter) and Ormonde Jayne Woman.

Feel free to contact me via email. I just want to know how the classic Chamade smelled, even if I have to pay for it. Is there anyone who wants to sell an old bottle to me ? November 6, 2023 at 10:19am

  • Jenni Taylor Swain: 1. Hermes Kelly Caleche – rosy leather. Yummy
    2. Ormonde Jayne Tolu – cuddle up and read a book
    3. Yes of course. November 6, 2023 at 11:56am

  • Genevieve Leger Fawcett: Hello, everyone!

1-Portrait of a Lady by Frederic Malle is a Rose perfume I love. Sophisticated and not old fashioned.

2-Tibuktu by L’Artisan Parfumeur is soft and comforting to me. And for something a little lighter and fresh: Basilico & Fellini by Vilhelm Parfumerie is a great one for lifting up the spirits.

    3-yes you can

    Cheers!

  • Sharon: 1.My favorite rose perfume is Estee Lauder’s Amber Mystique as the taif rose and Bulgarian rose scent blooms after the initial amber and spice headiness.

    2. For me, Chanel No. 5 envelops my senses and comforts me. I apply it before bedtime for a good night’s sleep.

    3. Yes please! November 6, 2023 at 9:30pm

  • Stephanie: 1. Comme des Garcons “Grace” is a lovely rose fragrance that is modern but not too trendy!

    2. I love Jo Malone’s Ginger Biscuit!

    3. Yes, of course! Thank you to the both of you! November 8, 2023 at 11:25pm

  • Mary B: 1. I like Toy Boy by Moschino for a modern rose perfume. It is marketed to men but I think it is unisex and it really lasts and is affordable. It is my Francis Kurkdjian.

    2. My cozy perfumes are Un Clair de Musc by Lutens and Hermes Kelly Caliche.

3 yes, you may contact me!! Thank
    You November 9, 2023 at 6:26pm
