Today we have a generous giveaway courtesy to Linda. She is giving away a bottle of Chanel No 22 EDP (75ml, sprayed a couple of times only, box included). Linda says, “I would like to give it away to someone who might enjoy it more, because I tried to enjoy aldehydes and I just can’t. But it’s definitely beautiful.”
Linda is kind enough to ship anywhere in the world. The only issue is that you will be responsible for any customs charges, if any are to occur.
Disclaimer: Bois de Jasmin is not responsible for leaks or damage during transit or for lost packages.
Please answer all of the questions below to be entered into the draw. I will create two groups and randomly draw one winner from each.
1. Linda would like to ask for your recommendations of perfumes that evoke autumn (in the northern hemisphere.) She’s open to try anything, but she prefers to avoid overly sweet gourmands.
2. May I contact you via email to notify you of your win and share your email with Linda?
The winner is EileenD. Congratulations! I will contact the winner via email shortly.
I would like to thank our entire Bois de Jasmin community for your generosity and kindness, whether it means giveaways like this, advice or comments.

Olha: 1. Lately, I’ve fallen utterly in love with Naomi Goodsir’s Cuir Velours. It conjures up the essence of autumn for me—a person wrapped in a suede leather jacket, quietly smoking outside, surrounded by crisp, golden leaves. There’s a whisper of smoke, a touch of leather, and an incense-like finish, all merging into what feels like the perfect autumn fragrance.
2. Absolutely yes November 1, 2024 at 8:11am
Figuier: What a generous giveaway! Thank you Linda, amd Victoria for hosting.
1. Universal Flowering’s Saffron Flour feels super autumnal, reminding me of early evenings and dying flowers. Also anything with patchouli, Mon Parfum Cheri by Annick Goutal is the most evocative, but Diptyque’s Tempo also feels meditative in an autumnal way.
2. Yes, you have permission to share my details. November 1, 2024 at 9:14am
Alica Cleis: I would recommend perfume that is “my precioussss”, actually it has been for many years, now I guess it´s hard to find. It is Mon Cherie par Camille by Annick Goutal. Linda wouldn´t be disappointed with this beauty.
2. Of course you can contact me, thanks for the opportunity. November 1, 2024 at 9:14am
Nenda Inasa Fadhilah: 1. I love Guerlain L’Heure Bleue EDT during autumn. I think it the scent feels right as I’m walking over the falling leaves close to the Tiber river. It’s vanilla-tonka but not sweet with iris and aniseed. It feels warm when it rains.
My alternative when I want something warmer and less citrusy is DS Durga Pistachio. It’s a roasted pistachio scent, not overly sweet or gelato-y like Kayali Yum Pistachio
2. Yes, of course!!
Cheers November 1, 2024 at 9:15am
Valerie Jordan: What a benevolent gesture on Linda’s behalf. Chanel 22 is a beautiful fragrance.
1. Roja ‘s Diaghilev’s EDP layered complexity recalls the charm of falling leaves. This scent extends quite well into cozy sweater weather, too(cypre, floral, spicy).
For day to day wear, though, or even just at night after my bathing ritual, I find myself reaching for Rochas Femmes EDP as the air gets more brisk. It’s a perfect fall go-to ( chypre-fruity-spicy and elegant). A last but not least honorable mention is Guerlain’s Santal Royal EDP (amber and woody).
While I am uncertain as to whether or not any of these would be your cup of tea, they certainly are not overly sweet gourmands!
2. Yes- Absolutely! November 3, 2024 at 1:02am
Ewan: ITake autumn leaves, lichen, bark, quince and whatever else takes your fancy, and leave them in technical alcohol you get a nice aroma after you put it on your skin. The alcohol quickly evaporates and the perfume stay for about an hour. November 1, 2024 at 9:28am
Kerry: 1. I wear Serge Lutens Chergui quite often in the fall. It helps me feel warm on a brisk fall day and is the scent that brings me the most comfort.
2. Yes. November 1, 2024 at 9:31am
leathermountain: 1. I love Annick Goutal Nuit Étoilée. It manages to be warm and cool at the same time. How autumnal is that?!
2. Definitely. I hope it’s ok to share a story. I bought a bottle of No 22 about 11 years ago, to wear to the City Hall part of our wedding. It was perfect! Then in 2020, when we were called away to a family health crisis, someone broke into our apartment, and that bottle is the only perfume they took. Lucky for us, we could easily replace the warm coats and other necessary things, and we ended up not even really begrudging them. But psychologically, I haven’t quite gotten past that partial bottle, and I haven’t replaced it. Once in a while I purchase or request a sample. It would be quite a beautiful thing to receive a bottle from Linda. Thank you for sharing! November 1, 2024 at 9:33am
Joanne Delaney: 1. Ormonde Jayne Woman. A midnight walk through a fantasy wood. Notes of hemlock, jasmine and violets.
2. Yes. Definitely. November 1, 2024 at 9:34am
Alessandra: I love this perfume so much. So! To business now. 🙂
1) Passage d’Enfer de l’Artisan Parfumeur, Babylon by Penhaligon’s, La Myrrhe de Serge Lutens and l’Eau Lente by Diptyque are my current most emoviking autumn scents;
2) Of course you can contact me by email November 1, 2024 at 9:36am
ARLINDA LEITE: Hello, how are you?
Well, I will suggest two fragrances that caught my attention and I believe will enchant Linda!
Tonka & Myrra – Jo Malone, Chergui Serge Lutens
2- Yes, of course November 1, 2024 at 1:42pm
Damiana: 1. There are many fragrances I love wearing in the fall, but will mention the one I have enjoyed this season. It’s Ormonde Jayne Woman, a scent I consider mysterious and witchy thanks to its heart of violet and black hemlock and supporting notes of damp grass and woods. Don’t miss Victoria’s beautiful review of Woman!
2. Yes, of course!
Thank you for the opportunity. November 1, 2024 at 9:39am
Joeri: I would think Norne by Slumberhouse, or Arso by Profumum Roma both evoke an autumn walk in the forest. Then there’s Benjoin Boheme by Diotyque to keep you warm, it wraps around you like a scarf.
Yes, you may contact me, it’d be very happy. November 1, 2024 at 9:44am
BMC: 1. A favorite niche perfume has been the amber-forward En Voyage Perfume’s Captured In Amber. While it lists the gourmand notes of cocoa and orange, it does not parlay as a gourmand treat; rather, it wears as a sophisticated, spiced, resinous oriental amber that does not parlay as an edible gourmand to me. It complements well the aroma of falling leaves in crisp autumn air (as recently tested on outdoor walks!).
This also incorporates real ambergris, a rare ingredient in perfumery anymore, which adds a richness modern perfumes lack, and is in part responsible for the excellent diffusion and longevity. This is relatively affordable coming from a niche house, but wears and performs like a high end perfume with echos of a vintage gem. This is also available to try as a sample or in a mini coffret trio of cocoa, vanilla, and amber perfumes – all incorporating the precious ambergris.
NOTES
Classic Persian Amber Accord
Dark South American Chocolate Accord
New Zealand Beach-washed Ambergris
A Touch of Bitter Orange
Further description from the En Voyage website:
“We’ve showcased the sweet, slightly animalic scents of ambergris and labdanum, combined them with vanilla, tonka bean, flowers, spices and woods, and combined them with exotic resins of Persia, Egypt and India to evoke the Victorian era fetish for the Orient.“
2. Yes November 1, 2024 at 9:46am
Joana Prata: Oh my… I adore Chanel n22! I own a sample and I use it sparsely in occasions where I need to feel extra confident (mostly classes with new students)
It’s almost finished 😔
1: Although directed to the male public I find Equipage from Hermes one of the most sober and elegant perfumes for fall. It has that envelopment from wet northern (europe) forests that instantly transfers you to a contemplating state.
Another autumn/winter ‘cosy wooled cardigan with the fireplace on’ perfume is Cardamom Coffee from Lush.
(There should be a following post for the person to comment our suggestions 😅 Now I’m very curious to know Linda’s opinion)
2: Yes, please ☺️ November 1, 2024 at 9:52am
Gabriela: Thank you for the generous giveaway!
1. I would recommend Woman by OJ or Cuir de Lancome, beautiful leather.
2. Yes, you may contact me! November 1, 2024 at 9:57am
Jennifer Goldman: Gosh, what a generous and lovely giveaway!
1. Andrea Maack’s Coven is a gorgeous witchy brew. Etat Libre’s Like This is the smell of pumpkins, ginger, and spice. Dusita’s Moonlight in Chiangmai is citrus, nutmeg, and warm woods.
2. Yes, thank you! November 1, 2024 at 10:05am
Ugo Criscuolo: 1. I recommend something from Serge Lutens, like Serge Noire, Ambre Sultan or Fumerie Turque.
2. Yes you can contact me via mail November 1, 2024 at 10:07am
Graciela Pagin: Lovely giveaway!
1. I would recommend Bois de Violette, a beautiful woody violet by Serge Lutens.
2. yes, you may contact me. Thank you! November 1, 2024 at 10:17am
Kathy: Thank you for offering to share!
1. Have you tried Iris Torréfié by Guerlain? It is one of my most sophisticated favorites, in that is never reveals all the notes at one wearing. It lingers on clothing in a warm and wonderful way for Fall. Most of my favorites are big, bold chypres and floral-gourmands, but quiet Iris Torréfié is always on my top shelf.
2. Yes, you may contact me by email. (Note to Victoria: I’d worry about loss or damage if the bottle’s journey is very long, so I will pass on the draw if it is not coming from the US. Thanks!) November 1, 2024 at 10:17am
renate: Tank you to Linda for the generosity and to Victoria for hosting!
1) I would recommend Hermès Ambre des Merveilles for automn. I love the ambery woody luminosity that fits the colors of automn leaves so well. I discovered it some years ago thanks also to the beautiful review Victoria did on this site. Altough there is vanilla in the base, I would not consider it a gourmand or overly sweet. And in times of niche prices going through the ceiling, it is certainly not a cheap but an affordable choice.
2) Yes, please! And thank you.
Wishing everyone a lovely automn! November 1, 2024 at 10:34am
SophiaB: Thank you Victoria for your generosity!
I Just recently discovered during my travel in Austria, une eau de parfum that I loved from La Maison Crivelli, a sea rose: Saltifolia. It’s soft, surprising and enveloping. A warmth, feel good scent!
Have a lovely automn everyone 🙂 November 1, 2024 at 10:41am
Klaas: Oh Linda, I sympathize completely, I can’t do aldehydes either!! So don’t include me in the draw, but I’d be happy to give you some recommendations. Sans aldehydes 😉
In the previous post I mentioned Dryad and Vol de Nuit, they are perfect autumns scents, as they both have these green, wet and earthy qualities…..
A little more hardcore would be Oriza Legrands Chypre Mousse, which is a complex earthy, mossy patchouli with a damp, mushroom-y vibe going on…..autumn in a bottle but not everyone’s cup of tea……
I hope you find something you like! November 1, 2024 at 10:48am
Dina C.: Linda,
1. I love Chanel No 22 and don’t own it, so please include me in the list of people you’re considering.
My favorite fall scent is Chanel Sycomore, which smells a bit like dry autumn leaves. It’s actually vetiver. I also love Chanel 31 Rue Cambon which has a woodsy floral scent that’s layered with some earthy tones of patchouli. Also love Chanel Bois des Iles, a classic sandalwood scent that evokes cozy, snuggly warm sweaters to me.
2. Yes, you have permission. November 1, 2024 at 11:04am
KatieAnn: Hello and thank you for the generous giveaway. I adore Chanel 22, but have never purchased it.
1. I find the original Chanel Coco EDP or EDT perfect for autumn and it is not aldehydic. It’s also elegant, yet easily accessible, which is a good thing! I am also fond of Hermes 24 Faubourg. It wears beautifully in cold weather.
2. Absolutely yes. November 1, 2024 at 11:09am
Krista: 1. How generous, thank you for doing this! I’ve been wearing a ton of Serge Lutens Arabie – the woods, the dried fruit, the spices. It’s perfect for fall.
2. Yes, thank you so much! November 1, 2024 at 11:17am
elizabeth: This is such a generous offer!
1) I love L’Artisan’s Séville à l’aube for autumn; it evokes that transitory feeling between summer green and deep fall orange, and the beeswax gestures at winter for the candle-lover in me, too, with a comfort that helps me savor autumn. The flowers may be gone for now, but fragrance helps them linger, and this perfume, like fall, is easy to wear and easy to love, casual in its majesty, much like our trees.
Victoria has a gorgeous review that captures its shapeshifter qualities: https://boisdejasmin.com/2012/06/lartisan-parfumeur-seville-a-laube-perfume-review.html
2) yes, you may contact me via email! November 1, 2024 at 11:18am
Puhfume: Thank you for the generous giveaway!
1. I have been enjoying Lutens’ Santal Majuscule this Fall. I love sandalwood for the cool, rainy weather we have been having. It wraps around you beautifully without feeling heavy. I also love the rose and cocoa touches in there.
2. Yes, you may contact me via email. November 1, 2024 at 11:28am
Alityke: What a generous giveaway. Thank you both!
1. Many of my recommendations have already been suggested.
I will add Spell 125 from Papillon Artisan Perfumes. Fir, ambergris, olibanum, hemlock on a sandalwood base. Imagine walking in Scandinavian woods with the crisp air filling your lungs. As with all Liz Moores creations perfectly considered & balanced.
I would also suggest Lutens Ecrin de Fumee for bonfire wood smoke & L’Artisan Perfumer Voleur de Roses, black roses & earthy patchouli, witchy & gothic.
2. Yes you may share my contact details if I am chosen. November 1, 2024 at 11:32am
Alityke: Oh my I forgot to add Les Abstraits Belle Ame! Orris & iris, resins, musk, dry cacao on sandalwood. Deep, cosy, comforting & oh so feminine. November 1, 2024 at 3:41pm
Hélène: Thanks to you both for facilitating this giveaway!
1. Every autumn I eagerly retrieve Coromandel and Ambre des Merveilles from the back of my shelf. Also unironically Obsession which started my fragrance obsession in the 80’s. Such a great autumnal dry down.
2. Yes please contact me! November 1, 2024 at 11:46am
Colleen Geary: Thank you Linda! Thank you, Victoria!
I would recommend CoCo by Chanel for a fall fragrance. A nice amber Chanel fragrance.
Yes, you may contact me.
Happy autumn! November 1, 2024 at 12:05pm
Lisa Johnson: 1. Court of Ravens by 4160 Tuesdays. I don’t like many of 4160’s but when I like, I love.
Andy Tauer: L’air du desert Marocain, Au Coeur du desert, Lonestar Memories/Lonesome Rider are all autumn/winter spiced masterpieces.
Keiko Mecheri: Cuir Cordoba.
Chanel Bois des Isles or Coromandel.
Guerlain: Shalimar (probably my most worn in Winter) Samsara, Vol de Nuit, L’Heure Bleu
YSL Opium. (But a vintage version)
2. Of course ❤️ November 1, 2024 at 12:05pm
Renee: You might try Dior Ambre Nuit. Warm amber and damask rose. My daughter wears it and loves it!
Yes, you can contact me for my address! I love 22! November 1, 2024 at 12:14pm
Lori Casimiro: I adore No 22 and have only had samples of it. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity Linda.
1. For me, Autumn is ushered in by my first wearing of Serge Lutens Féminité du Bois. I also love my Mitsouko during Autumn.
2. Yes, you may contact me via email.
😍 November 1, 2024 at 12:29pm
Theresa: Such a generous giveaway! I love Chanel No 22 – I try to get samples whenever I visit the big Nordstrom in Seattle!
1 – others have mentioned many of my favorites for Fall, but I would like to add my plug for these warm and cozy scents: Chanel Coromandel & Sycomore; Lutens Chergui; Carthusia Ligea; Bulgari Omnia (my only successful blind buy!).
2 – yes, of course you can contact me!
Let us know what scents you end up trying! November 1, 2024 at 12:47pm
Melissa T: Aldehydes aren’t particularly for me either so you can leave me out of the draw. However, I LOVE fall scents! One of my favorites is Liis Bo. It evokes a coastal forest glade with whiffs of tobacco smoke and vanilla in the background and dry down. I pair it with Scents of Wood Sequoia in Rye to double the woodsy feelin.. November 1, 2024 at 12:49pm
Cheryl Guzman: Linda, I’m here to help. Bottega Veneta by Bottega Veneta is my (Dare I say THE!) perfect fall fragrance. I’ve had multiple people chase me down over the years and ask what I’m wearing. Thank you for this opportunity, and I give my permission to be contacted. November 1, 2024 at 12:52pm
Janine Kawazoe: 1. My favorite Autumn fragrances are: Frassai – Tian Di and Eclectic Fox Shop – All Hallow’s Eve.
2. Yes, please use my email. November 1, 2024 at 1:44pm
Patricia Wilks: Hello Linda!
A wonderful invigorating …even startling scent..one of my forever favorites: Byredo Mojave Ghost. An excellent fall choice staring cedar, light floral and smoky woodsy sandalwood evoking that crispy air of new beginnings ..onwards towards a new year of joy, hope, and love.
Yes, Victoria please share my comment with Linda and contact me thru email if I win. Thank you
Patricia November 1, 2024 at 2:27pm
Christina: 1. Thank you for this giveaway and also the question, as I’m enjoying reading the other entries. I second Lisa Johnson’s recommendation of L’air du desert marocain for fall. This season I find myself turning also to Petits Papiers by Mad et Len. It has that smoky, warm quality that I crave as the weather gets colder (just barely so far, here on the U.S. East Coast).
2. Yes, OK to notify me by email and share with Linda. November 1, 2024 at 3:18pm
Talha Bin Masud: 1. Diptyque’s Tam Dao is the perfect autumn fragrance because its rich, woody scent captures the cozy, comforting feel of fall. It’s warm and grounding, without being too strong or too sweet
2. Yes, of course <3 November 1, 2024 at 3:49pm
OAP: What an exciting and generous giveaway! No. 22 is one of my most favourite Chanels.
Re perfumes that evoke Autumn to me…well with the days becoming shorter, and leafs beginning to change colours and fall, and temps dropping enough to warrant wearing at least a light sweater or jacket, I can tell you some of the perfumes I will reach for. They range from inexpensive to higher end. I do not discriminate based on price. If I love a fragrance, I wear it.
First up are a few inexpensive body sprays from B&BW: Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin (it is not very sweet), Sensual Amber, and Dark Kiss.
Also, Lutens Chergui, Chloe Narcisse, Bijan Bijan, Dana Tabu, Malle Portrait of a Lady, and Paloma Picasso Paloma, and Chanel Coco, and Kenzo Jungle L ‘Elephant to name a few.
Yes, you may email me and share my conact information. November 1, 2024 at 4:06pm
Amanda M: Thank you for the generous giveaway Linda!
The turning of the seasons which brings the arrival of Autumn and its glorious days filled with colours of burnished copper and gold, earthy browns and dappled sunlight filtering through deciduous trees, has me reaching for these:
My most favourite and beloved is the classic Guerlain ‘Mitsouko’, in any concentration but the Eau de Parfum speaks to me the most.
Some other lovely fragrances for Autumn that I love are:
CHANEL Coco EDP (any vintage pre-2010’s)
CHANEL Bois Des Iles
CHANEL Coromandel
Serge Lutens Feminite Du Bois
Yes, of course! You may have my email. 🍁🍂 November 1, 2024 at 6:01pm
Heidi Czerwiec: Linda! What a special perfume for a giveaway!
Lessee…autumn perfumes…
I would recommend Serge Lutens Fille en Aiguilles, which smells like a fall walk in the the woods—a little chilly, pine needles crunching underfoot. I also love MDCI’s Fêtes Persanes, which is spice and dried fruit, but not in a sweet gourmand kind of way. Chanel Sycomore is a woodsy vetiver that just WORKS. Oriza Legrand’s Chypre Mousse has a very damp, woodsy, mushroomy scent—everything starting to decay. And Cuir de Lancôme is just suede coziness. November 1, 2024 at 7:43pm
Heidi Czerwiec: And yes, you can share my contact information! November 1, 2024 at 7:44pm
Robin Wright: Hello Linda,
I love Chanel No.22 very much, so thank you for offering such a wonderful giveaway!
La Pausa by Chanel Les Exclusifs is a gorgeous iris padilla with vetiver and pink peppercorn. I love wearing it in the fall and winter. The iris really suits the crisp weather.
Chypre Palatin by Parfums MDCI is a beautiful amber, balsam and leather perfume, along with hyacinth, rose, jasmine iris, coriander and clove. It’s a big, rich perfume and I love it for this time of year.
Another beauty is Ormonde Jayne Woman; an unusual perfume that is composed of black hemlock, jasmine and violet absolute. It is a sensual perfume that I reach for time after time during the autumn season. There nothing quite like it. November 1, 2024 at 8:27pm
Robin Wright: Victoria,
I am so sorry- I just posted my recommendations for the Chanel No. 22 giveaway but forgot to say yes, please share my contact information. November 1, 2024 at 8:29pm
Ali: Hi Linda and Victoria, thanks so much for the generous giveaway!
1. For autumn, Prada Infusion D’Iris is a must try. It’s a bit cool and slightly leathery, perfect for a chill fall morning wrapped in a scarf or three! The absolue version with even more vanilla is also gorgeous- warm and round, perfect for evenings by the fire with a good book.
2. Yes, please feel free to share my contact information. Thanks! November 1, 2024 at 9:49pm
John Luna: 1. Being based in the Pacific Northwest myself, I appreciate the kind of weather you are describing… I myself have been going back and forth between two Hermes scents lately: Equipage (warm, pipe-tobacco-avuncular, leather-powdery fougere for walking through caramelic-spelling maple leaves), and Bel Ami (Orris-buttery-smooth leather in four dimensions, very suitable for kicking phenolic conkers [hose chestnuts])… I am delighted to see that someone else has recommended Equipage to you, as I think it’s an unsung wonder, and very wearable in its current incarnation (aldehydes bother me too sometimes.) You may also find another classic Hermes masculine, Rocabar (named for a horse blanket, so think fresh stables) a winner.
While we are talking Hermes, I was thinking of the quince note in Hermes’ Galop just this past week while we made quince jam on the stove. It reminds me of some Chanels in a way, but lacks those deadly aldehydes.
– A few already mentioned: yes to Serge Lutens! Chergui has received many well-deserved mentions, as well as the bewitching Fille en Aiguilles (really *the* smell of sweet pine needles), but I’d also recommend the warming Five O’Clock au Gingembre, meant to invoke gingery tea…what a treasure.
– My wife is a big fan of Le Labo (her recent birthday gift was their Tokyo fragrance, which is a wonderfully subdued woody incense and musk affair). She also wears Rose 31, and has found that Replica’s By the Fireplace (a smoky-marshmallowy [but not sweet] iris-lipstick with musk almost feels like its dark and wintry cousin.
– Someone above mentioned Sycomore, but if Chanels are a no-go, what about Encre Noire? It’s another of my wife’s favourites (a blind-buy gift from me that improbably succeeded), and I never get tired of smelling its subtle sillage floating off of her wool coat. A bargain as well.
– Finally, reaching across the perfume aisle, I might also suggest the wonderful bitter-stark yet comforting Caron Yatagan. A real Chekov short story in a bottle and (dare I say it) a very nice Yuletide room spray as well. Love that stuff.
2. Knock me over with a feather! This is a very selfless offer. Chanel no. 22 is right up my daughter’s alley (and she could use something to form new and pleasant associations with just now), so please feel free to email me. Thanks! November 1, 2024 at 10:02pm
Rickyrebarco: 1. I would recommend Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay for autumn in the Northern Hemisphere as well as Serge Lutens Five O’clock Eau Gigembre and Lutes’ Chergui.
2. Yes, you may contact me by email if I am a winner. Thanks for the giveaway. November 1, 2024 at 10:41pm
Julia: Hi Linda! Thank you for this fun and kind giveaway. I recommend Serge Lutens, Five O’Clock Au Gingembre. And my all time favorite Guerlain Mitsouko. One more for a cozy sort of Autumn perfume, I just bought and am loving the new Donna Karan Cashmere & Palo Santo. I also do not prefer overly sweet gourmands. Thank you ! Julia November 1, 2024 at 11:12pm
Julia: oops, yes to number 2!! November 1, 2024 at 11:13pm
Julia: Sorry, I also forgot to say that yes, you may contact me! Thank you so much again! Julia November 1, 2024 at 11:23pm
Aurora: Many thanks Linda for a generous giveaway and Victoria for hosting.
Bottega Veneta is just about perfect for fall, it’s a violet leather, so elegant.
2. Of course. November 2, 2024 at 4:28am
Ellina: Wow! I love chanel 22. Thats Very generous ❤️
1:
– The smell of the weather turning, Lush

– Ombre leather, Tom Ford
2:
Yes, of course! November 6, 2024 at 5:44pm
Johanna: What an exciting and generous giveaway!
1. With November chills setting in I would recommend Anubis by Papillion Perfumery (Liz Moore) – but then I wear it all year round… I am also not a fan of sweet notes yet I always have a bottle of Bottega Veneta – plush, elegant, sued more than leather(I have a weakness for certain Michel Almairac’s scents). Mxxx by Eris – cocoa and ambergris, and so much more – when I need some warmth. And a bit more of left field from a tiny London-based perfume house Exaltatum. They have, to my mind, two very much the end of Summer / full on Autumn scents: Riverwalk (chrysanthemum!), and Ruby Wood (red berries and oud).
2. Yes, please! November 2, 2024 at 6:04am
Sophie Carsenat: Sophie: No. 1: Cabochard edt or edp is my soul scent but really comes alive to me in autumn. Warm and enveloping, a touch of bitterness, tabac and galbanum, it echoes cloudy skies and the drawing in of the season. Also Andy Tauer’s L’Air du Desert Marocain has a beautiful melancholy that matches autumn so well – very calming too.
No. 2: Yes, please share my contact info and thanks so much for this opportunity, Linda! November 2, 2024 at 12:00pm
EileenD: Yay! What a nice giveaway.
1. I recommend Serge Lutens Fumerie Turque or Diptyque Tam Dao. Both would fit your request IMO.
2. Yes, you may contact me by email. November 2, 2024 at 12:08pm
Roxann: How kind of Linda to pass this on. For fall I love L’air des Suisse Alpes by Andy Tauer. It is such a crisp beauty that I only wear in the fall. I also suggest Cappadocia by Memo Paris and Lena by Santa Maria Novella. Now I will have a hard time choosing my scent of the day. Yes you can share my contact information with Linda. November 2, 2024 at 12:27pm
Cris: Wow!
1. Diptique Tam Dao edt and Eau Duelle edt. I find Hermes 24 very elegant for a woman (or man). Chanel Coco edt for special occasions…
2. Yes. Chanel 22 is the perfume that made me cry when I smelled it because it went deep, very deep in my memories.
Thanks Victoria and Linda. November 2, 2024 at 2:46pm
OnWingsofSaffron: I am aware that my recommendation might be a bit controversial: Serge Noire by Serge Lutens. But the dark incense and clove brew with a hint of cinnamon and burnt wood seems quite autumnal to me. A bit of an acquired taste but rather elegant in a somber way. Yes, by all means do contact me. November 2, 2024 at 5:40pm
Heather Chase: 1. Nuxe’s Woman Perfume Prodigieux warms up chilly fall mornings. Carthusia’s Geranio has a spiciness that smells like sunny autumn afternoons when the leaves are turning orange and red. Tom Ford’s Black Orchid is heavier and goes with a night by the fire.
2. Yes, please share my information, and many thanks to Victoria and Linda for reminding us of the uplifting power of scent. November 2, 2024 at 7:05pm
Marte: 1. Hermes L’ambre des merveilles, Hermessence Vetiver tonka, L’Artisan Tea for two and Guerlain Vol de nuit.
2. Yes, of course! November 3, 2024 at 6:22am
Iuliana: Thank you for the generous giveaway!
1. In no particular order, looking through my list of perfumes: , Guerlain’s L’Heure bleue (particularly since the clocks went back last week), Serge Lutens’s La Fille de Berlin (with its jammy roses) and Louve, L’Artisan Parfumeur’s Couleur Vanille (reminds me of the chill in the air on crisp mornings), Maya Nije’s Vanilj (which reminds me of Autumn light), Lolita Lempicka’ eponymous perfume (with its licorice blend).
2 Please do (and thank you for organising)! November 3, 2024 at 7:33am
madtowngirl: What a generous giveaway!
1. Perfumes that evoke autumn for me include vanillas, ambers and sandalwoods. My current line up includes Atelier Vanille Insensee, Dame Black Flower Mexican Vanilla, Chanel Coco, Bois des Iles and Coromandel, 10 Corso Como, Tam Dao and my vintage bottles of Obsession, Samsara and Casmir.
2. Yes you may contact me and share my email! Thank you! November 3, 2024 at 8:33am
Lina: 1. I can recommend Nicolai Ambre Cashmere (luxurious and warm, not sweet at all, soft sillage) or Papillion Tobacco Rose (elegant ambery rose, a bit more presence). Another favorite for autumn is Miss Dior Le Parfum (unfortunately it was discontinued).
2. Yes. November 3, 2024 at 12:16pm
Rachel H: How wonderful – thank you!
Andy Tauer’s L’Air du Désert Marocain is a classic -my favorite winter fragrance. I don’t know what is actually in it but on me it is a dry incense, benzoin and patchouli that radiates warmth.
Please do contact me via email.
Thank you both ! November 3, 2024 at 1:34pm
Andrea E: 1. Hello! I am pretty new to collecting fragrances, so don’t expect anything too niche but for number one I would definitely say By the Fireplace by Masion Margiela. It has notes of clove, pink pepper, chestnut, vanilla and orange flower which, in my honest opinion, perfectly captures the cozy, smoky warmth of sitting beside a fire on a chilly autumn day.
Second would probably be Nomade Absolu de Parfum Chloé. It’s a fruity-ish fragrance that that has a warm, woody base with earthy oakmoss and sweet Mirabelle–it smells a lot like a forest (though I can’t really remember how it smells like, I ran out of the sample months ago :P)
Third, and last would definitely be Daisy Love by Marc Jacobs. I don’t know if I’m just biased because this was my first ever EDT and I just prefer it over most perfumes, but I would say it perfectly captures the feeling of fall for me, as I used to wear this a lot during my fall semester of my fresman year of university LOL.
2. You most certainly can contact me and share my email. 🙂 November 3, 2024 at 5:31pm
Dehan: 1. Linda would like to ask for your recommendations of perfumes that evoke autumn (in the northern hemisphere.) She’s open to try anything, but she prefers to avoid overly sweet gourmands.
1. I would recommend Serge Lutens Feminité du Bois as my top choice, as it contains notes of clove, cinnamon, sandalwood, and plum. It reminds me of poppouri. Oh, of course Potpourri from Santa Maria Novella. Other ones are Amber Oud and Rose Oud from Nicolai, and Portrait of a Lady and Rose Tonnerre from Frederic Malle. They are such great perfumes for fall.
2. Yes totally. November 3, 2024 at 11:32pm
Christina: 1. I would recommend to try Habanita Molinard, Issara Dusita and La Panthere parfum Cartier.
2. Yes, of course.
Thank you! November 4, 2024 at 2:53am
Eric Harris: 1. Sticking with Chanel, the scent that most evokes fall to me is 31 rue Cambon. It leaves me breathless.
2. You, of course, may contact me! November 4, 2024 at 5:23am
Patricia: 1. Maison Margiela Replica Soul of the Forest! A walk through dense foliage, a cashmere shawl, the scent of damp earth and moss; walking back home in the crisp autumn air.
2. Yes, of course! November 4, 2024 at 9:32am
tulipani: 1) I would recommend Santa Maria Novella Melograno and Dusita Erawan, and also another plug for Mitsouko this time of year.
2) Definitely yes! November 4, 2024 at 11:21am
CristinaM: what a perfect fragrance! I just got a delightful mini of Chanel 22 and I am enjoying it right now.
1. Fall fragrances: Like this /Tilda Swinton by ELDO, orange all over. Just perfect this time of the year; Ambre des Merveilles, cozy, warm, comforting. Luce by Meo Fusciuni, the special light of shortening days, still a nostalgic summery vibe in southern weather.
2. Yes, you may contact me in case I am selected as the lucky recipient of this beauty.
thank you November 4, 2024 at 2:09pm
Elise Rose: Thank you so much for such a kind opportunity. I always remembered a Chanel scent from my childhood but could never find “the one” that I could smell in my mind. The other day I picked up a bottle at the boutique – took a whiff and No. 22 was it! I was floored and immediately sent back to a time in my memories. Would be thrilled to have a bottle for myself. ♥️
1. I love L’Heure Bleu from Guerlain as well as Eau Duelle from Diptywue for a warm cosy scent that is vanilla but doesn’t lean too gourmand. Happy to send a decant to Linda to try.
2. Yes! Please and thank you again. November 4, 2024 at 3:36pm

Cricket: 1. I like Tova’s Signature Autumn perfume. It’s warm and cozy, not cloying or too loud and smothering.
2. Yes, you may contact you via email to notify me of my win and share my email with Linda. November 4, 2024 at 3:57pm
November 5, 2024 at 1:12pm
Kelly Cole: #1 Autumn is subtle in Los Angeles, so I find it needs some serious olfactory oomph to increase the fall vibes. For me that is Chanel’s Le Lion. It evokes gold and orange, starkly silhouetted hills against a long glowing sunset. Not sweet but deeply enveloping.
#2 Yes, you may contact me and share my email. Thank you so much for the consideration. November 5, 2024 at 8:27pm
Kat O’Shields: #1 I wrote an entire blog post dedicated to autumn scents on my “Halloween” blog (which really covers any/all things October). Surprisingly, the scent that most captures the season is honestly….[cringing at the name]…”Youth Dew,” by Estee Lauder. I know, I know. Just try it. The bath oil is particularly rich, dark, resinous, and spicy.
#2. Yes, of course! November 6, 2024 at 2:01am
Zane: 1. My recommendation for Linda and readers is not typically Autumn scent, but the one I currently enjoy the most and it is quite universal for all seasons. I am talking about CAMINA (Provence) by Fiilit, made by Stephanie Bakouche. It is calming silky iris-lavender-(white)may rose scent with hints of pine and cypress, little bitterness of blackcurrant branch. Besides it is 99% natural fragrance and seems to be discontinued, but you can still get samples, travel sprays and refill bottles on their website. I also recommend Waka from the same author and Mušuššhu, if you like black pepper and frankincense. Also Jolie Coeur which is dedicated to Vanille and Cocoa of Reunion.
I am not a fan of so-called warming fragrances (ambers and warm spices), even the winters could be very cold here, in Latvia. For a more cozy feeling I personally would probably choose some contemporary vanilla-patchouli-black tea scent, but from the previous recommendations I agree also with Like this /Tilda Swinton by ELDO.
Thank you, Linda, for such generous giveaway! I would like to participate to receive the prize for my mum, as she likes ONLY aldehydes of Chanel and nothing else 😉

Viktoriya Semyz: What a lovely giveaway, thank you.
1. I would recommend Castana by an independent Irish brand Cloon Keen. Luca Turin described it as floral chestnut, and it is spot on. It is very cosy and warm, perfect for this time of the year.
