  • Gordon: I find that scent is extended if I stay cool, wear cocoa butter, and use neutral balmy essential oils like benzoin before application. And today I am wearing Grass by Lush because I crave green (Jean Louis Scherrer, Amazone by Hermes) in the spring. You may absolutely share my email. 😇🙏🍀🇨🇦 February 6, 2023 at 9:09am

  • Lauriellen Bochner: 1. Layering scents when possible (shower gel, lotion, perfume) and scent seems to stay in my hair for quite awhile.
    2. Today I’m wearing Cartier Baiser Vole.

    3. Yes feel free to contact me!

    Thank you? February 6, 2023 at 9:11am

  • Mingzhe Wang: To extend the duration of a scent, I usually spray some on my clothe, and on my hair. It’s a grey and cold day today in Michigan, I’m wearing Sables by Goutal. I’m very curious how the Must extrait smells. Thank you! February 6, 2023 at 9:21am

  • Hera Sukyas: I layer them with body oils and lotions to extend the staying time.
Today I am wearing Profumo Chocolate oil.
Yes, you can contact me by email.
Thank you very much for this giveaway. February 6, 2023 at 9:30am

  • Patricia: I enjoy layering with lotions and body oils, then spraying my fragrance. Last all day on me.
My fragrance of the day is Guerlain’s, Mon Guerlain.
Toni contact me. February 6, 2023 at 9:34am

  • Marsi: Well-moisturized skin and applying fragrance to my hands and then running them through my hair and over my clothes are my tips — as well as another application later in the day.

My favorite place to apply fragrance is my earlobes. The older sister I wish I had, my lifelong mentor, has always applied Samsara to her fingertips and then touched it onto her earlobes. Now I do the same.

This is such a generous giveaway. I have loved Must de Cartier since it came out. February 6, 2023 at 9:34am

    • Marsi: What am I wearing today? Chanel Paris-Venise, including the body lotion. February 6, 2023 at 9:36am

  • Jennifer G: 1: a few drops of sesame oil after bathing seems to help my fragrance “hold.”
    2: Cartier Panthere parfum
    3: absolutely February 6, 2023 at 9:59am

  • R.Bee: Thank you, Toni!

Moisturized skin, I use a heavy, unscented lotion and sunscreen in the winter and apply perfume over that.

Today I’m wearing a sample of Robert Piguet Gardenia. Not the most interesting fragrance – I think I’m getting more lily and generic “white floral” than gardenia, but it’s quite pretty and more reasonable to wear in an office than Fracas.

Yes, you may contact me by email. February 6, 2023 at 10:57am

  • Heather Chase: Good morning!
    1. To prolong scents, I spray perfume a very thin (almost transparent) cotton camisole and wear it under my clothes, since spraying perfume directly on many fabrics would stain them. If I’m wearing a wool sweater, though, I can spray the perfume on the reverse of it, and the scent lasts all day without staining the wool. Cotton underwear can also be used. My hair holds scent well.
    2. Today I am wearing Rojas Lily.
    3. Yes, please contact me by email!
Thank you for your generosity February 6, 2023 at 10:58am

  • Kneale Culbreath: Hello and thank you for the lovely giveaway, Toni!
    1. To extend perfume, I make sure to apply body lotion or oil first. I also like to scent my hair scarf with a quick spritz of scent- usually on a black cotton headband before I put a silk scarf over it.
    2. Today I am wearing Frédéric Malle’s Lipstick Rose.
    3. Yes, please contact me by email. February 6, 2023 at 11:05am

  • Patricia Maccaro: Toni, much appreciation for your lovely offer.
    1. I use a dab of moisturizer wherever I’m
planning to spray perfume, being sure
    moisturizer has no scent.
    2. Today I’m wearing Eau de Charlotte,
by Goutal Paris (ah! Paris, don’t you love it?)
    3. Yes, please contact me via e-mail.
keeping fingers crossed. February 6, 2023 at 11:07am

  • Renee: I spray perfume on my hair and the scent is long lasting. Today I am wearing Miss Dior Originale. Yes, please contact me by email. February 6, 2023 at 11:08am

  • Jane: The basics for prolonging fragrance are of course layering the same fragrance as a lotion and perfume and making sure skin is well moisturized. I also rub my wrists over my hair after applying fragrance and my clothing when safe. I also find applying the scent on ankles, stomach, wrists, and neck disperses the scents more gradually as it works its way up.

Today I am wearing two scents. First, Marem, from Caswell-Massey archives and first created in 1914. It is a very lush chypre heavy perfume and a bit too sensual for work. I “lightened” it up by dabbing Demeter’s Jasmine oil on my wrists which cut though the heaviness of
    Marem.

Yes please contact via email and share my email address with Toni if I am the winner.

Thank you Toni for your generosity and thank you Victoria for facilitating this give away and for sharing your expertise and enthusiasm with us! February 6, 2023 at 11:21am

  • Adam Sultan: Funny, I thought you meant prolong the freshness of bottled scents until I read the other comments. So, going with my original assumption: keep away from heat and light sources, make sure the cap is on, and make sure it doesn’t pass the expiration date! (Not sure about that last one).

Today I’m wearing Halfeti by Penhaligan’s

    Yes contact me via email.

  • Abby: Good morning! Thank you for your kind offer.

Unfortunately, I can’t offer much advice about extending the life span of perfume on my skin, as my skin retains perfume and broadcasts it well. I have had the problem of having to minimalize it in a business atmosphere. You might start with a lotion on the skin, but I’m not sure if that actually works. I apply the scent to the hollow of my throat and both sides of the neck. This allows me to smell the scent all day long and my colleagues not at all unless they come very close. I’ve had people say “I didn’t know you wear perfume”, while I thought I would have to tone it down next time. So my point is, keep the scent on a pulse point somewhere close to your nose. After that, it’s really up to your body chemistry.

Today I am not wearing a perfume at all. It’s a Body Smoothie lotion from the defunct etailer Lathers and Lights, called Dark Moon. Which is a strong coffee scent. On top of that I sprayed a Bath and Body Works mist called Vanilla Mocha Martini.

Yes, you may contact me if I should be so lucky. February 6, 2023 at 12:35pm

  • Celeste Church: I use grapeseed oil on my skin after showering, then when it’s all absorbed I apply the scent. I also put the fragrance in my hair and on my scarf which seems to help.
Today I’m wearing Followed by Kerosene which needs no help lasting forever. It lasts so long I get annoyed with it because I can’t switch scents like I usually do.😊
And yes, you can contact me via my email. Thanks! February 6, 2023 at 12:36pm

  • therabbitsflower: I’m pretty lucky that I don’t have issues with perfume longevity, but I do spray perfume on the outer “hair side” of my arm to help ensure it lasts. I don’t that works much better than there inside of the wrist.

Today I’m wearing Tobacco Rose from Papillon Perfumes.

Yes, you may email me if I win. Thanks Toni for the giveaway! February 6, 2023 at 12:51pm

  • Natasha Eckholm: Thank you for this generous offer! I moisturize with unscented oils (sea buckthorn, sesame, rosehip) and aloe, and then apply perfume to wrists, neck, décolleté, and run fingers through hair. Sometimes, depending in the fragrance, I also may use a scented product that shares a fragrance note with the perfume, such as a sandalwood dry body spray. Today I’m wearing Torn by Henry Rose. Yes, you may email me if I win. Best of luck to all! February 6, 2023 at 1:47pm

  • Peggy: I like to spray perfume in my hair, then run my hands through it to distribute it more evenly. Because it is cold today, I am wearing SJP Stash. The anise and evergreens in it just suits the weather and my skin!
You may certainly email me if I win and thank you for the giveaway, Toni! February 6, 2023 at 2:32pm

  • Kimberly: Hello Victoria and Toni, it always makes me smile when I see these perfume giveaways. I often don’t enter because I have so many perfumes already, however, I do not have a single Cartier in my collection yet.
The best way that I have found to prolong fragrance on my skin is to match the particular fragrance with the season that enhances it best. There are many perfumes that I don’t wear in the winter because the changes in ambient air temperature and humidity keep the fragrance too close to my skin. On the other hand there are many fragrances that are better suited for winter months and they seem to lift off the skin better and improve my mood. My typical spray pattern is 1 spray on the chest and 1 on each wrist.
Today I am wearing Guerlain Chamade EDT. I have been wearing it for the last several days because it is a perfect transitional type fragrance for the change of season from winter to spring. In the evening I have been switching to DIOR Diorissimo EDT. I believe Chamade might have LOTV in it also. It transitions very well to Diorissimo.
Of course you may email should I by chance win.
All the best to everyone and thank you Toni for your kind generosity. February 6, 2023 at 2:35pm

  • Elizabeth Le Glaire: Hello Victoria and Toni,
To extend the longevity of scents, I rub some heavy greasy Vaseline like ointment in the areas where I’ll spray perfume. It helps a lot. Nonetheless, there are some perfumes that don’t stay around no matter what I do and with those , I over spray. I may even spay my clothes (which I don’t like doing because the scent can linger forever).
I’m wearing Mitsouko EDP today. It’s such a mysterious and wonderful perfume.
    Please contact me by email.
    Thank you! February 6, 2023 at 2:51pm

  • Colleen Geary: Hello and thank you for the lovely opportunity to try a Cartier perfume.
To extend the wear of perfume is difficult. I spray the back of my neck and hair hoping that I’m those locations it won’t dissipate as quickly.
Today I am wearing Iris Poudre by Frederic Malle. February 6, 2023 at 2:54pm

  • Julia: Thank you for sharing your bottle with another perfumista! I have never tried this fragrance. I have dry skin so longevity is sometimes an issue and I just do the usual light body oil or lotion. I guess I just refresh throughout the day mostly!

Today i am wearing Olfactive Studios Woody Mood and yes, you can certainly contact me!

Thank you! Julia February 6, 2023 at 3:23pm

  • Gardênia: I feel that a unscented oil helps fixate fragrance s. I’m taking a perfume break today but have been fond of Lys Mediterranee and rose water lately. You can definitely share my email! February 6, 2023 at 3:37pm

  • Nataliya: Hello Victoria and Toni,
Thank you very much for your generous offer.
    1. To extend the longevity of the scents I wear, I always spray my hair.
2.Today I am wearing Musc Ravageur by Frederic Malle.
3.Yes, please contact me by email! February 6, 2023 at 6:27pm

  • Billy Beyond: 1. To extend my perfumes I think the only thing I can do is reapply. I don’t think there is a secret. Evaporation can be affected by humidity, but that’s about it.

    2. Today I am wearing Kölnische Juchten by Regence Paris – old school!!!!

    3. Email me anytime. February 6, 2023 at 6:50pm

  • Roxann: Yes. You may share my email. Today I am wearing Aimez Moi by Caron. I learned from this fragrance which is not a spray to prolong my scent. I don’t want to touch my skin to the perfume so I apply it with a cotton square, then I tuck it in my bra. Scent lasts forever on that cotton. The scent will be long gone on my skin, but the cotton is still fragrant the next day. So now I use that trick with my spray fragrances also. Thanks for the kind giveaway. February 6, 2023 at 11:29pm

  • Rickyrebarco: 1. I prolong the life of fragrance on my skin by using an unscented base or ‘concrete’ before I spray on the perfume. If there is a matching lotion or body cream, I use that first.
    2. I’m wearing Fragonard Narcisse today.
    3. Yes, you may contact me via email if I win.
Thanks for the giveaway. February 7, 2023 at 12:27am

  • Jay Pendley: Hello. Fragrance lasts on moist skin or is layered with shower gel or soap followed by crème or lotion, and set with bath powder. All of these products are not always made by the maker. I find that a tiny bit of vaseline rubbed on pulse points then fragrance after this always helps. Fragrance also rises so it is good to apply below the knees and ankles. I also like it in the hair I apply fragrance to my forearm over moisturizer so that I can enjoy it my self!!!

Today I am wearing Shalimar. I have not worn Cartier for a while now and would love to get back to it.

Yes, please contact me through email February 7, 2023 at 11:25am

  • Anna E Perkoski: Hello, To prolong the longevity of my fragrance, I spray my hair and neck and sometimes my legs. I also have vintage brooches which hold perfume saturated cotton. I wear the matching body lotion or cream if it is available. I wish that perfume houses would bring back bath oils which really last and can be worn like perfume.
I’ve been wearing YSL Libre lately.
Yes, you may contact me. Thank you Toni and Victoria for this generous giveaway. February 7, 2023 at 1:01pm

  • Tammie: Hello Toni and Victoria, I thank you for the chance to win this beautiful fragrance!
To assist with staying power I’ll make sure to moisturize with an unscented lotion or oil and also spritz the nape of my neck and hairline. If the scent is very weak I’ll spritz my clothes as well. My sotd is Ormonde Jayne’s Woman. Yes, please share my email. February 7, 2023 at 1:18pm

  • Stacey Shinkel: 1. Moisturize your body, it will hold the scent longer. And/or use the matching lotion to do so.
    2. Today I am wearing Sana Jardin Vanilla Nomad
    3. Yes, you may contact me if I win. February 7, 2023 at 1:38pm

  • Geraldine: I try to prolong the aroma by spraying several places on my body. I have discovered that I need to be careful about perfume on my neck as I break out there probably because of the alcohol intent. But I try spraying various parts of my body from the legs on up.
I have that Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey gives me the sense of strength as I leave the house.
Yes, please share my email, and share my gratefulness for the generosity of the donor. February 7, 2023 at 4:50pm

  • Cyndi: I find the more lubricated my skin is, the longer my fragrance lasts. Another way is to layer them,(using a shower/bath gel or soap in your favorite fragrance), using a body lotion or cream, and then the perfume. I miss the “old days” when most perfumes had a full range of bath and body products. Not everyone does that anymore.
If I win, yes you can email me. Such a generous giveaway. February 7, 2023 at 8:31pm

  • Tamsin: 1. To prolong longevity I spray my clothes, and love to match my perfume to my outfit colour for psychological longevity!
    2. Today I am wearing penhaligons ostara with a lemon printed silk linen top.
    3. Yes please contact me if I am lucky enough to win. February 7, 2023 at 8:33pm

  • Anna Kullgren: Some of my favorite scents tend to fade rather quickly. I’ve learned that adding it to clothes and hair extend its holding power. Today I wore Versace Woman which holds up pretty well on me. And yes, you may share my email. Thanks for the giveaway! February 8, 2023 at 2:06am

  • Theresa: Like others, I often spray the scent on my clothing (not delicate fabrics, of course, but I don’t usually wear delicate items anyways!). Today I put a good spritz of Guerlain “eau de fleurs de cedrat” to perk me up as I sit at my desk, working from home. Even in wintertime, a spritz of eau de cologne is energizing!
Yes, you can contact me via e-mail. Thank you for this generous offer! February 8, 2023 at 5:27pm

  • Margie Armour: I keep bottles of scent in the fridge. I also keep bottles in their boxes in a dark closet. I put empty perfume bottles in my lingerie drawers.
It is lovely to pull on a nightgown and get a hint of fragrance.
Today I am wearing Chanel 19.

You may share my email with Toni and post my name if I am the lucky winner February 9, 2023 at 2:57pm

  • Robyn: 1. Toni would like to find out your most effective strategies for prolonging scents.

I always wear a neck scarf and make sure to spray a touch of fragrance around my neck.

    2. What perfume are you wearing today?

    Anais Anais.

    3. May I contact you via email to notify you of your win and share your email with Toni?

Yes, of course. February 9, 2023 at 3:46pm
