Perfume News: Gaultier 2 (to the Power of Two) Comes to US

Gaultier2

The newest Jean Paul Gaultier fragrance, Gaultier2 (or Gaultier to the Power of Two) is finally being launched in the States after its release in Europe last year. It was created by Francis Kurkdjian and it is described as a rich, sensual Oriental with amber, vanilla, woods and musk. “There’s a trend in the U.S., tastes are changing to more Oriental and sensual [scents],” said Remy Gomez, president of BeautĂ© Prestige International, Gaultier’s distributor in the US. The fragrance will debut on August 1 at Bloomingdale’s being appearing at other retailers. Via WWD.

  • Violette: Hallo!
Great example among the so-called FLAT scents IMHO, JPG 2 lingers on your skin and you leave the loveliest trail of amber behind you. Any fans here?
    Cheers

  • Dusan: V, have you tried it? Violette, I’m there with you. I *adore* G2, and am halfway through my giant 120ml bottle. Yummy! June 16, 2006 at 1:35pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Violette, I recall it being very pleasant, but now I am tempted to revisit. Off to look for my sample. June 16, 2006 at 1:38pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Dusan, now, what can attest better to how much you like than that? 🙂 I am about to revisit it now. June 16, 2006 at 1:40pm Reply

  • Tara: The massage oil makes a great layering product – I wear it under Dzing, Un Bois Vanille and Timbuktu with great success. June 16, 2006 at 4:31pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Tara, thank you! It is good to know. I have never tried the massage oil. June 16, 2006 at 5:14pm Reply

  • Prince Barry: Sorry, but I tried it when it came out over here. After reading the description, I sprayed a good amount on my hand. I was left with the most awful linear and chemical smelling vanilla that you can imagine. I hate the stuff. As soon as I got back to work that afternoon, I attempted to scrub it off, but, like all scents that one doesn’t like, it stuck around. All afternoon I kept getting the smell drifting into my nose and making me sneeze. Disgusting! June 18, 2006 at 11:26am Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: Barry, I am sorry that you had such an unfortunate experience with it. I tried it again recently and it reminded of JPG Classique, which I loved when it first came out. Need to do more testing though. June 18, 2006 at 10:06pm Reply
