La Barfumeria : New Niche Perfumery

A new niche perfume boutique is about to come to New York City at the end of 2006. La Barfumeria was originally opened in 2003 in the basement of fashion store La Rosa Que No Muere in Madrid. It carries about 20 different niche lines. Given its target US market, I wonder how much the marketing board had pondered about the name. From cosmeticnews.

The heart has been modified with white tea and Japanese osmanthus and the base accord has been softened slightly.” Eau Emotionelle possesses the sensuality of the original, “yet celebrates her debut as a charming sister to the inimitable signature scent.” The packaging has the same shape and colour as the original, however the bottle will bear a pink net effect finish, trimmed with black lace. Eau Emotionnelle launches in the UK in June, and worldwide later this year.

First, I hear that the most daring fragrance from Annick Goutal, Eau du Fier, is slated to be removed from the line. Next, the news via Soho boutique are that L’Artisan is about to discontinue Orchidée Blanche. Therefore, those who love these fragrances should stock up on their favourites.
