I have been processing lots of grief lately as I try to understand what’s happening in Ukraine. I haven’t lived there for years, but it’s the place where I was born and that shaped me, and its pain is my pain. When one feels helpless, the best thing is to reach out to others and help someone else. So I decided to hold a fundraiser for Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF.) It’s been a while since I’ve been thinking of this idea and looking for the best way to organize it. This year has been challenging for many people around the world, and I know that our community wanted to contribute. We’ve raised over $5000.

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is a reputable organization known for its projects all over the globe. They help with children care, offer help to impoverished communities and those experiencing military conflicts. Their structure is quite lean, so it means that the money, even if it’s a small amount, goes a long way.

The fundraiser ran till June 30, 2022, and the winner is Vincent. However, I will leave a link for those who would like to donate anyway.

The prize for this fundraiser was vintage Coty Chypre.

Today have a generous giveaway courtesy of Bois de Jasmin’s reader Frank. He would like to give away two full bottles: Les Parfums de Rosine Rose Griotte 50ml (in box, sprayed once) and Dior Sauvage EDT 60ml (not in box, sprayed a few times). He can send his package anywhere, as long as the receiver assumes all responsibility for customs formalities.

Even if you aren’t interested in these perfumes, please help Frank with a very important task–what should he give his wife for Valentine’s Day? “She has many perfumes and she spends all of her time collecting more. I used to fight it, but now I myself have a collection that can rival Nordstrom’s. She loves woods, iris, orange blossom, and spices. She doesn’t like anything sweet. She likes tea and candles. I would like something unusual, but I’m out of ideas. Please help!”

Happy New Year! I hope that your year has started off well, and to make it even more so, today we have an amazing giveaway courtesy to Fabienne. The first wonderful part about it is that Fabienne is giving away a bottle of Chanel Gardénia EDP (200ml, 80% full, no box) and Tom Ford Velvet Gardenia EDP (50ml, sprayed a few times only, no box). As you might know, Velvet Gardenia is no longer possible to find, so this is a particularly precious find. As Fabienne says, “these perfumes were gifts. I wore them and tried to like them, but gardenia is not my style. I don’t want to sell them. I want to give them to someone who will enjoy them. I don’t comment often, but I read every post here and I want to give back to Victoria and this nice community.”

The second great part about this giveaway is that although Fabienne is based in the US, she is willing to ship to the US and EU (she can’t ship outside these two zones due to the expense of shipping.) The EU-based winner must accept to wait till late January to receive their prize when Fabienne goes to Europe to visit her family.
