Fragrance News: Colourful Missoni Fragrance

Missoni05

Estée Lauder will launch a new Mission fragrance developed by Symrise. Missoni’s famous colourful knitwear was an inspiration the composition, in which each accord represents a particular colour: “Radiant Yellows corresponds to top notes of Italian bergamot, nespolo and magnolia; Magenta Pinks presents middle notes of peonies and dewy rose, along with Intense Oranges, which includes mandarin and bitter orange. Chocolate Browns represent a drydown of Gianduia chocolate and amber.” The EDP, parfum, body lotion, and a candle will be available in March of 2006. From cosmeticnews.

  • Tania: I’m such a sucker for Missoni scarves. Those bright eye-popping patterns can put life into the dullest outfit. I wonder if the fragrance will be any good? Although I’m not so fond of the Prada-via-Angel trend for chocolate-and-amber bases, and the top and middle sound like a run of the mill fruity floral. Has anyone put a pink fruity floral over a chocolate amber base? Quick, someone spray Baby Phat Goddess over Prada and tell me how it goes. 😉 November 30, 2005 at 11:38am Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: L, you are welcome! I love the bright patterns as well, and I hope that the fragrance will be appropriately interesting. November 30, 2005 at 12:47pm Reply

  • BoisdeJasmin: T, I cannot decide whether it sounds interesting (Angel with pink flowers rather than pink berries) or predictable. Am I brave enough to try your experiment? Hmmm, where are those sample vials? 🙂 November 30, 2005 at 12:49pm Reply
